If he shows his face in NH, campaigning for the 2008 primary, he's gonna get a good FReepin' !!
Some Vietnam veterans have a different opinion than that of Hagel:
"Vietnam vets in Iraq see 'entirely different war' "

Vietnam vets in Iraq see "entirely different war", "the right thing to do"

I am too and you are absolutely right on. His chance as a prez candidate just died.
Amen!
This jerk just needs to go ahead and switch parties, because his already dismal chances of capturing the GOP nod just went up in smoke.
Ditto! My son;'s view is that we should simply arm the Kurds and the Shiites to the hilt and left them take what they can from the Sunni Arabs. The more the Iraqi Shiites owe us, the less the Iranians will be a factor. Oh, yes, we should act as backup, and if the Sunnis seem to be getting an edge, swat them. In other words, do what the Brits did in 1921, but in reverse.
Please do get on the phone and tell Senator Hagel's flunkies that you will be passing the word.
Hagel would have demanded that Roosevelt pull our troops out of North Africa, claiming that the Nazis did not attack us.
The "war" didn't begin in Iraq and it doesn't end there either...this is but one field of battle in a larger war. Just as in WWII the Germans were fought in more than one country and the Islamofacists are in more places than just Iraq.
I'm not sure what the answer is. I think the problem is where not getting enough information about what is going on in Iraq. I believe more good things are happening than bad, it's just unfortunate that this information isn't getting out. To many people think a country can be rebuilt in a day. Most Americans have too short an attention span. Sometimes I get really frustrated and angry.
Thank you for your kind words. I shall pass them on to him, we will appreciate them.
He's an opportunistic a$$hole who should get no respect from anyone. If he thinks this is the road to the White House via the Republican party he's the most delusional politician since Ross Perot.
I'm also a combat veteran, having served in the same war as Hagle. One difference between us is that I'm not a political opportunist who reacts to every whispy change in polling data....
I think the chances of that happening are pretty slim. :)
Heard Rush today too....that man is brilliant...
Good post. As I was forced to remind a Liberal the other day, once upon a time there was a free and democratic country called the Republic of Vietnam.
Heard two good quotes on the radio today:
1. "The Iraq war is just like Vietnam- except that we've captured Ho Chi Minh, we're occupying Hanoi, and they've had their first Democratic elections."
2. "The only thing making the Iraq war like Vietnam is the anti-american liberal politicians trying to undermine the war, our troops and our President."
