Hagel expects an OK on immigration bill

Sen. Chuck Hagel predicted Wednesday that the new Congress will pass a comprehensive immigration overhaul bill in the next session. The Nebraska Republican had strongly criticized his fellow GOP lawmakers in September for failing to update immigration law. He said then that it would cost them in the midterm elections.

Sweetie....... By the way, did you vote in the midterm election and how did you vote? Because I suspect that many of the NumbersUSA hardliners did not vote at all...

Well, "Sweetie", no one stops me from voting. You assume much and know zip. Let me tell you about my republican rep. For years we pounded him to stand up against illegal immigration. He's a big Nafta, Cafta, Ftaa boy too. Nothing, until finally after a bunch of town hall meeting and getting pounded he joins Tancredo's immigration caucus, a few months ago....JUST in time to brag about what he's doing on "immigration". He sent out one campaign flyer. A big slick colored thing with him on the border and the entire 2 BIG pages was all about his district's#1 issue...IMMIGRATION. He kind of got on board when he HAD to, like Santorum did.

As for "numbers USA" hardliners, yesterday I quoted something from the wall St. Journal...you're starting to sound like the open border minority....guilt by association, but strangley that doesn't work on your republican idols, like Santorum. He IS what he VOTED, I didn't make it up.

I just tried them both and had no problem. But, one of them you have to scroll down on because at the top it does appear to be a 'dead' page. Give another go at it.

Thought I better check the thread today. Good advice on the "basic pilot". I'll remember that.

IJ Whenever I talk to other people that have moved here from another state they are surprised also at the lack of protest about taxes.

I'll do what I can to get rid of Hagel but I'm not sure Nebraskans really know the truth about him, sadky.

They can be a dense bunch, I'll grant ya. I'll take it as a personal crusade to make it clear who Chuck Hagel truly is.

Our motto for '08 should be "Chuck" Hagel -- "Chuck" is a verb.

Thank you for reminding me.... when they pass CI and Buchanan complains (and he will), we should all send him a missive reminding him he is one of the people directly responsible for it happening.

You presume Bush wants to block any of Pelosi's shenanigans.

Good idea. I'm hoping he'll run for POTUS and then he can't run again for Senate.

Kuma, it's because the President wants this bill and he wasn't happy the congress blocked it last time around; he;s been trying for this since the summer of 2001.

No, but if you listen carefully the media is trying to brainwash us into thinking only congressmen and senators who were against amnest were defeated last week... ergo they are trying to set the stage trying to convince us this is what the majority wanted and were angry at the men/women that blocked it.

This paragraph in your link is what future generations have to look forward to.... the USA is going to become a clone of Mexico with Rich and poor.... no middle class.

Bill Richardson, who had served in Clinton’s cabinet and later became governor of New Mexico, kindly stopped to speak to our delegation at the Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles. He commented favorably to us: "What do Hispanics want? Fully funded government programs!" The Economist mentioned about his state:

New Mexico is a poor place, with one of the highest proportion of people living on food stamps … Its political tradition also long had a Latin American feel, based around a padrón system of clients and bosses. The bosses ran grocery stores, gave you credit, helped you if you needed a job. And all you had to do was vote for the Democrats … New Mexican politics is still about jobs, contracts and personal loyalty, not ideology. And Mr. Richardson personifies this.

Trailer-park poverty combined with a cult of personality, where government initiatives regularly bear the governor’s name, as they would with some Latin American potentate (the governor is half Mexican himself), prevails in a state that is 40 percent Hispanic, including Hispanics already many generations in the United States.

A voice in the wilderness has to ask... did he ever, really? (other than the votes we provided). He never has really 'listened' saying with great pride he doesn't pay attention to polls.

Santorum is not my idol. I stated that he voted NO on S2611, which is true, and you came back with your rinky-dinky "report card" to use against him.

As for you calling me an OBL... that's an indication of the narrow-mindedness of your clique. You are not to be challenged on anything, even the simple pointing out of an obvious fact: Santorum voted AGAINST amnesty. Which, in my view, is a good thing.

But you're happy about it, happy about Republican losses. I am not.

I'm sorry, I had tried links from another post. That one is wrong....here is the main page, click to add an employer is in the left column:

http://www.wehirealiens.com/

There is also another link there called, Illegal Employers:

http://www.illegalemployers.org/index2.html

That link takes you to the site where lawyers, in the fight against illegal immigration, are asking for submissions of claims against employers. They file RICO suits against them by American's (starting in California) who've been harmed. I believe they are affiliated with Howard Foster, the attorney who is handling the RICO suits against Mohawk Carpets and Tyson Foods.

A sad time for America will be ushered in early next year, when a simple little man, in way over his head in his job as U.S. president, and grasping for some sort of legacy, will sign an expansion in 3rd world migration so enormous that it dooms what's left of our nation's sovereignty, language and culture.

But at least we'll get treated to the sight of Ted Kennedy, Pelosi, AG Gonzales, and some some photogenic illegal-alien children, smiling on the South Lawn as our commander-in-chief stammers incomprehensively about "compassion" and "family values".
