No, what they said was that they as parents don't give the girls gifts. "Santa Claus," on the other hand is generous with them.

Surely the girls are, and have been, of age to know that Santa Claus doesn’t have time to come to their house - he does 4 shifts at the mall.

Truthfully, I doubt anything that the Obama’s say — they probably shower them with gifts and say, Daddy had to shake down Rahm for this so be thankful we got it at a discount.

Considering they mentioned that they don't exchange gifts in their home on Christmas, I have a feeling that Birth hasn't crossed Missy's mind much on Christmas or any other day. Her description above sounds "kwanza-like".

The first of 17 White House holiday parties was held Tuesday night, for the 92 volunteers who strung lights and hung ornaments. Mrs. Obama herself, who teased the volunteers about making a lot of partying noise, only popped down for a minute.

"She said the girls were upstairs doing homework and she couldn’t stay," said volunteer Kim Fawley, a schoolteacher from Broadway, Va.

I didn't make myself clear. The only reason to not simply use the ornaments as is would be if they were damaged, worn, etc., not that I thought that's why they “recycled” the decorations. Otherwise they are just wasting time and money. Only the main tree is probably decorated with the especially-made ornaments. There are probably far more than 800 standard ornaments that have been used on the garlands and lesser trees throughout the years and so plenty to spare, don't you think?

Okay, I just saw some of the decorations. They look like the solid color balls only (and they aren't impressive, but perhaps they were done by children). Jumping to conclusions is what the other side does. Are we trying to emulate them?

Let's save our outrage for when we actually have evidence of an egregious act. Such as not even mentioning Christ's birth in her narration for the Christmas video. Reflect, renew, rejoice, but about causes and family and anything but Jesus!
