A Texas state lawmaker has filed a bill that would require candidates for president or vice president to show their birth certificates to the secretary of state before being allowed on the ballot, and the measure could become effective as early as next year if adopted and signed into law.
The move by Rep. Leo Berman, R-Tyler, renews the threat to a second Oval Office term for Barack Obama that was posed last year when the state House in Arizona actually adopted the requirement, but the session ended before the Senate acted.
Berman's legislation, House Bill 295, is brief and simple:
It would add to the state election code the provision: "The secretary of state may not certify the name of a candidate for president or vice-president unless the candidate has presented the candidate's original birth certificate indicating that the person is a natural-born United States citizen."
It includes an effective date of Sept. 1, 2011, in time for the expected presidential campaigning for 2012.

The fact is, Barry running into a brick wall this second two years of his term makes him even more dangerous since he could well hand jihadists so much critical information that it would make us vulnerable in many ways and ensure that we'd be hit by some major attacks.
Any party that would have this guy on the top of their ticket an anti-Constitution, anti-America, party dedicated to the destruction of this country. I hope people wake up and realize that the democrat party doesn't just need to be out of power, it needs to be destroyed. Pursued with RICO cases and totally destroyed along with the academic infrastructure they've built with tax money over the past forty years.

I wonder what Obama’s explanation would be for not being on the ballot.
I don't think that it is possible in the modern era for a presidential candidate from a major political party to NOT be on the ballot of all 50 states. It would be impossible to ignore and it would raise the fundamental questions about constitutional-eligibility that got finessed last time around.
You are right....Brewer would have signed it if it hadn’t come right after the AZ Immigration Law...so Texas will step up to the plate and pass this. Why is it that I see AG Abbott’s finger prints all of it?
That would break his threat of race war ability.
Don’t think they’ll find a judge in Texas to do that.
Berman is both THE MAN and our man.
Even if no other satte did this, nobama not being able to get on the Texas ballot cause he ain’t a citizen, sure would make someone an easy campaign.

Here is the earlier thread with the LubbockOnline as the source.
But it then needs to be amended to
It would be nice if the Texas fellow defined the term in his bill, as currently it would still be up to various judges to interpret it.
I figure that it's just something trivial, but politically-damaging.
'Twould be hard to run as "The First Black President" if your BC lists your race as "Caucasian", for example. Would need to be something that would cost him votes, en masse.
Just my opinion. YMMV.
Did you mean hugh manatees? You've been here a long time, I'm surprised you would make a mistake like that. It's really series that people don't know the pacific rules having to do with some of these things. It makes us seem like maroons.
This would be great if coupled with all voters needing to re-register and show up for registration with two forms of ID and proof of citizenship.
Otherwise we are just another bananna republic.
maybe she was in the shower when that rule was adopted?
You do?
I think it would be:
RACISM.
The Arizona bill never passed both houses, so it never got to Brewer's desk for her to sign. The legislature decided to shelve it and concentrate on the immigration bill.
Really?
I seriously doubt Ails or Murdock would be even slight intimidated by sorass, the ballerina or brokenaxlerod.
I think it might well be something considerably less trivial, like that Frank Marshall Davis is the father, and not BHO Sr. Which would blow the whole Dreams from my Father narrative.
Mind you I’m not saying I think *that* is what is being hidden. Just that it could very well be something that non-trivial.
Wow, Frantzie, way to respond to someone questioning the veracity of a questionable source.
