Did Obama Give Gloria Allred's Game Away?
Big Journalism ^ | 10/21/12 | Joel B. Pollak

For several days, reports have circulated that attorney Gloria Allred--who always seems to surface when a Democrat is in trouble--is about to drop an “October surprise” on the Romney campaign.

Speculation has surrounded a story published last week by the left-wing website AlterNet, purporting to tell the story of women who claimed Mitt Romney advised them in the 1980s, in his capacity as a church leader, against having abortions.

There is only one problem: the story is not new, and Breitbart News already discussed several aspects of the tale in January 2012, including the false claim that Romney had been insensitive to women in his congregation. One woman he had counseled against having an abortion, and who carried her baby to term, told Vogue in February she was grateful to Romney for his help, though she later decided to leave the Mormon church.

There is perhaps reason to believe that this is the tactic Allred is preparing to use against Romney--and that she may be doing so in coordination with the Obama campaign.

In a speech on Friday in Virginia, President Barack Obama unveiled a new attack against his rival, accusing him of “Romnesia” (Romney + amnesia) about his past positions. The media treated the word as an innovation.

Note to Romney campaign. Any attack on Allred would be an attack on women in the media. Best thing Romney can do is run a commercial with Allreds clients who got screwed by her.

As much as I wish GA would shut up forever about anything, I wonder if this type story, provided it is the attack route, may backlash. While it may enrage and motivate those already anti-life, it will likely increase motivation for pro-life people. Of course, GA saying it will make it seem ugly, she can’t help that, but I would respect him for taking that stand. In that day and age, there wasn’t much said about abortion and I wonder how many lives would have been saved if it got the attention it has now. This is a different day.

The Romney exception is a tad broader than a mere ‘life of the woman’ situation ~ which has happened about ZERO TIMES since the discovery of antibiotics. He does the whole abominable ‘life, health, rape and incest’ deal ~ and presumably combines that with prayer and counseling ~ and that gives it the complete Carthaginian patina.

Claiming Romney is “insensitive” is a purely lefty concept. I don’t want sensitive people dealing with enemies, nor do I want sensitive people making decisions.

Being insensitive doesn’t doesn’t disqualify one from the presidency.

Lots of things don’t disqualify one from the presidency.

Idiocy as demonstrated by the current occupant didn’t disqualify him.

October Surprise, October 26. Gloria Alred has uncovered sealed divorce records of Mitt Romney’s previous marriages. All seven wives, not identified because of age and sexual orientation, filed for divorce simultaneously citing grounds of inability to “satisfy” his libido. One even said he “seemed to be at war with all women. It was like he got us from a binder.” Attempts to contact the wives were unsuccessful. They were last seen ascending a mountain in Utah on a night of a lunar eclipse. The Obama administration denied any knowledge of Alred’s assertion, but said the report was “troubling.” President Obama, when asked said “Uh.”

They say this like it's a bad thing. If true, it would actually establish something like a pro-life bona fide for Romney, which is his biggest problem among social conservatives such as myself.

The most amazing part of this story, to me, is that the legacy media sincerely believes that TALKING against abortions thirty years ago is going to somehow hurt Romney’s chances of being elected president.

It is funny. Meanwhile, Obama's position on gay marriage has "evolved," but that's just fine, even commendable, according to the MSM.

Do not be fooled by imitations ~ the Mormon, not just LDS, position on the 10th amendment is pretty clear ~ they believe it to be the be all end all of federal state entanglement ~ with the states on top making their own rules, and maybe even having a king or two drifting about.

An abortion-advice story gets the Democrats nothing, but would tend to shore up Romney support among the Christian Right, and show Romney as compassionate. If this is what they have, bring it on.

So what else would Alred be planning? She and the California Dem’s specialize in last-minute accusations of sexual misconduct, that put the opponents on the defensive, force them off-message, are hard to disprove until after the election. Let’s hope the pre-attack publicity has derailed this one. Typical of Dem’s that even their dirty tricks are old and worn out.

just watched the clip on youtube - the oh-so-clever O acting like he just had a brainstorm, inventing fast-on-his-feet the word “romnesia” — what I wonder is how this was shown on the TPOTUS (Tele-Prompter-of-the-United-States):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhg3tTfiUcY
At 0:18 in the clip:
“we gotta name this condition, that he’s going through. I think..I, I, I—I, I, I think it’s called: Romnesia” (pause for riotous laughter from Bots)
Bots: “ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha”
Such genius, using a faked speech impediment/stutter to make it seem like he’s thinking, when he’s really simply reading ValJar’s words on the screen.
This man missed his calling - clearly a potential for a weekly sitcom (with the canned laugh-and-applause tracks, of course).

If Romney had advised these women to have abortions...they would be trotted out by the dems to prove his hypocricy.

If he had said to them....”that is above my paygrade” - they would have trotted these women out as proof that he has no core values.

That’s what it means to oppose the left - no matter what you do they will attack you.

"So the possible story that Gloria Allred might have on Romney is that he talked a woman out from having a Abortion ? "

If I'm not mistaken, the majority of Americans are against abortions, and making employers pay for abortion causing drugs. How they expect this to help win him votes is beyond me. He's already got the vote of the libs who find no problem with abortion. He's not going to win any new voters if this is indeed the issue he and Allred want to push.
