Damn it! This link is not working. Maybe someone can straighten it out. I give up!

I agree with you. He’s not going to go anywhere but he’s so much fun to listen to.

Yeah, I don’t get him. He’s still a lib at heart. He just can’t move past that lib instinct. And, like George Will and Michael Medved, he just can’t get over his disdain for people who didn’t go to Yale, Harvard or Wharton. You know, the people who’ve destroyed the country. P.S.: Trump went to Wharton.

“The Donald has actually gone out and made a success of himself”

To borrow a phrase used by someone in a different context on another thread, Trump is a guy who was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple.

I can’t believe I’m busily defending the Donald, but Trump’s father had no dealings in Manhattan - the Donald created all that. And if he’s a failure, I don’t know who built those enormous apartment complexes all along the Hudson River. They look pretty full when I drive along the Westside Highway. Trump could have pissed all his father’s gains away but instead did him one better.

I was born in one of Trump’s hospitals!

I don’t know if he voted for Obama - I didn’t follow him into the voting booth. But he certainly loved him in 08 while distaining the great Palin.

"I think he is a highly overrated pundit. He's wrong on so many things, including the Iraq war, I've just never been a fan and obviously he knows that and I guess he's not a fan of mine and that's okay. All I do is I speak the truth."

Hahaha...I knew Trump would stir things up and it's nice to see he's not wasting any time.

Every boring, stuck up party needs that one person who will absolutely say what everyone else is thinking but no one would dare say.

And there are few parties anywhere in the world more boring and stuck up than our progressive One party and its one-stream PR media corps.

He's a long shot in the primary, but hey, if you can make it in New York, they say you can make it anywhere. Win or lose, it's all good so far.

Trump is just commenting on things that matter.

Trump said Bill Clinton was his favorite president since Ronald Reagan.

Yuck!

Kraut is wrong more than he’s right. Never forget he used to be a speech writer for Walter Mondale. Kraut is at best establishment GOP. George Will same deal in a petty mean spirited package.

Maybe Trump could be put in the minor Rockefeller category for business achievement?

That said, Obama didn’t exactly “piss away his father’s gains” either. In fact he did more than one better than his father; he became the POTUS, 2 times - shows a quiet, steady, personal ambition. As a POTUS? pfff..

There is more to the POTUS job than success in business. Who knows, maybe Trump has got it? Personally, I don’t think he has the necessary attributes, knowhow, or temperament. In my view, he may do well in treasury. He is certainly “a wheeler & dealer” in a business sense. He is not a Statesman.

Ronald Reagan was once a Democrat.

Rick Perry was once a Democrat.

David Horowitz was once a communist.

Charles Krauthammer was once a Democrat.

Krauthammer: Moving from Left to Right I’m often asked: “How do you go from Walter Mondale to Fox News?” To which the short answer is: “I was young once.” The long answer begins by noting that this is hardly a novel passage. The path is well trodden, most famously by Ronald Reagan, himself once a New Deal Democrat, and more recently by a generation of neoconservatives, led by Irving Kristol and Norman Podhoretz. Every story has its idiosyncrasies. These are mine.

I’d been a lifelong Democrat, and in my youth a Great Society liberal. But I had always identified with the party’s Cold War liberals, uncompromising Truman-Kennedy anti-Communists led by the likes of Henry Jackson, Hubert Humphrey, and Pat Moynihan. Given my social-democratic political orientation, it was natural for me to work for Democrats, handing out leaflets for Henry Jackson in the 1976 Massachusetts Democratic primary (Jackson won; I handed out a lot of leaflets) and working for Mondale four years later.

After Reagan took office in 1981, however, Democratic foreign policy changed dramatically. Some, of course, had begun their slide toward isolationism years earlier with George McGovern’s “Come Home America” campaign. But the responsibility of governance imposes discipline. When the Soviets provocatively moved intermediate-range nuclear forces (INF) into Eastern Europe, President Carter and German chancellor Helmut Schmidt got NATO to approve the counter deployment of American INFs in Western Europe........."

“Kraut is at best establishment GOP”

From my previous post.

You will realize this when Kraut comes out for Walker and dumps on your boy Cruz. :-)

Yes, I would agree that Krauthammer’s a social moderate and a national security conservative.

“my boy Cruz”

?

We have a big field to winnow - right now I like Walker.

Walker is a nothing burger. He generates all the excitement of a flea circus. The guy is afraid to even announce. He will lose in a landslide in a general election agains’t Hillary.

There are only 2-3 people with a chance to win a general election. Walker isn’t one of them. I would postulate Cruz, Trump and maybe Perry would have a chance agains’t her.

I’d like to nominate somebody who will actually win for a change.

Honestly as a former Perry supporter I don’t see how you evolved to Walker. Frankly I find Perry a lot more credible candidate. I don’t know if he has a chance this go around but he’s eminently qualified.

Well Aug 6th will start to winnow the wheat from the chaff so we will see how it shakes out.

TRUMP is a GREAT BIG F'n FOOL.

As my mother said when I was 7 years old... "son, just because someone has a LOT of MONEY doesn't mean they KNOW ANYTHING.

Nothing else need be said.

By any stretch of the imagination, Trump is a highly successful businessman. You can’t walk anywhere in NYC without being reminded of that.

I enjoy his bloviating. He doubt he’ll be president.
