Ann Coulter: Trump’s ‘Poll Numbers Will Go Through the Roof’ if He’d Just Build the Border Wall
Breitbart ^ | Juy 29,2018 | John Binder

Posted on 07/30/2018 7:34:51 AM PDT by Hojczyk

MARLOW: I think this is a total ticking time bomb here, that there’s no wall, there’s no plan for a wall, and I’m very disturbed by it because I think this puts the entire presidency in the balance if the wall does not get built. And there is no one taking it seriously, apparently not even in the White House at this point.

COULTER: No, I know. The original sin was Trump hiring all these establishment, swampy Never Trumper types. No, no one is there to tell him ‘Hey remember that promise you campaigned on and every single campaign rally with 10, 20, 30,000 people two or three times a day? Remember what chant they were saying? Was it ‘I will hire half of Goldman Sachs? No, it was not Mr. President.’ No, he has no one to tell him that. [Emphasis added]

I just wish Trump would realize, that of all secret weapons of our secret weapons of Donald Trump, if he’d build the wall, the media will go crazy, it will distract over everything, and his poll numbers will go through the roof. There’s a reason… we wanted the wall and that is so that all of us don’t have to be on constant, constant alert for the next wave of illegal, poverty-stricken, very needy, uneducated immigrants pouring across our border. [Emphasis added]

No, right now Breitbart has to kick into gear and Drudge has to kick into gear and I have to kick into gear and we have to tell the truth about what’s going on and demand information. No, we wanted to get back to our lives and not keep fighting each one of these onslaughts. [Emphasis added]

I love you Ann but remember that guy you supported to be your Vice President? He's the one holding it up. If it wasn't for him we'd have the wall.

You should thank god you dodged that bullet

If he’d build the wall AND, and this is the truly important part, it was effective in keep illegals and drugs from crossing the border.

President Trump, remember what happened to Bush I when he didn’t follow through on his “no new taxes” pledge.

There's a different between the two. Bush I said, "read my lips", then he went against what he said. He signed the bill that had tax increases. He did not have to. He could have said I'm sticking to my pledge and veto it; send it back to Congress. In Trump's case, he hasn't had a bill to sign on the wall. F'n Congress won't get off the dime. If a wall isn't built, it's not Trump's fault, unless he changes the priority. I do agree that he should take the case to the people and say, "I'm doing all I can with this Congress, but I need your help"...and put troops on the border and when the media and libs scream about that, let Trump say, "I'll take the troops off the border when I get XX dollars to build the wall, stop chain migration, etc., etc.".

I wish I was.

The two single most important issues facing America right now:

Our wall, and our massive trade deficit with China.

Neither one, is improved yet.

It is coming up on the second year, in his presidency.

Those two issues, matter.

For real.

One wonders if Mueller WANTS to be fired. Might Mueller’s best exit strat be one to give his Dems an issue (artificial as it may be)?

Do the shutdown; no question about that. Trump’s supporters will cheer it. His enemies will be hurt by it.

I personally don’t see a downside except for those who are intimidated by the fake news.

You do realize he cannot build the wall himself and he has had zero cooperation in Congress...a separate, but equal branch of Congress? And with regard to trade deficit w/ China, he has been a little busy with some other things. You really need to take into account the daily onslaught of ongoing efforts to unseat this President all the while not giving a d_mn about the country. He’s been in office almost two years and has accomplished quite a bit, with more to come. We had 4 years of Bush I, 8 of Clinton, 8 of Bush II and 8 of Obama...the last wheel was about to come off the bus. We know have all four wheels on the bus and starting to move forward. Yes, a lot of ground to cover yet, but it’s not going to happen overnight. I’m sure McCain, Romney and any of the host of the last 16 R candidates that ran against Trump would have fixed that, right?

> If a wall isn’t built, it’s not Trump’s fault <

With most programs, that’s true. If the Congress won’t authorize the money, the president can do little.

But this case is different. As Freepers Hojczyk and Mr. K both said, troops on the border can be used in place of a wall. And as C-in-C, Trump can order this without Congress’ permission.

If the border is still porous in 2020, Trump will own that failure.

I have been for Trump, right here on this forum, since before he even announced as a candidate.

But these two issues are serious, and going critical in my view.

He needs to get started on these. For real.

I’m not bashing the guy. He’s the best President of my lifetime.

But these two issues are very serious.

They both need to be fixed.

Now.

Perhaps one of you can confirm -— if the govt shuts down, we go into continuing resolution (CR) starting Oct. Keep in mind spending levels would stay the same, to include the biggest defense budget we’ve ever had. Under CR the rules are different — funds can be redirected within the department without congressional authorization - true/false?

The wall will come sometime..we have six years..

I couldn't disagree more. I believe the border wall is necessary, not because stopping illegal crossings couldn't be stopped by some other means, but because it won't be stopped otherwise. If it's not a physical wall, politicians will just move the funding around, create some other rules, anything to keep the Border Patrol from being effective. An in-place border wall makes stopping illegal crossings the default position.

If the wall isn't completed on Trumps watch, funding will get pulled before it can be built on the next person's watch. Haven't you been paying attention to Brexit? The longer it gets dragged out, the less likely we get what we need to stop illegal crossings.

Built the wall now before we lose our opportunity!

The construction on the wall has begun in several places in CA, NM and TX.

No New wall, just repairs and some replacements. Not one section has been started that would use one of the prototypes they showed off.

Coulter is dead WRONG! instead of pointing at President Trump, she should be laying Ryan and the rest pf the RINO gang in the daisies. Trump has been working like gangbusters on a myriad of topics that he has turned in the favor of the United States and our workers. I am sick and tired of idiots blaming Trump for the shortminded, treasonous RINOs who refuse to work with him to fulfill his promise on the wall. They are playing their underground games trying to defeat him so things will stay the same as they have been for years. TURN THE HEAT ON THE RINOS and fight FOR President Trump’s objectives. Coulter is overimpressed with herself.

Hi.

“No New wall, “

How do you know this? Keeping in mind there was $1.9 billion allocated in the last omnibus.

I have seen pictures of construction in those states mentioned, that looks like some of the New prototypes.

No matter, full funding and full speed ahead in building the Wall is paramount.
