Dem Rep Lieu: Trump Pardoning Manafort Would Be ‘Grounds For Impeachment’
Breitbart ^ | 08/16/18 | Pam Key

Thursday on CNN’s “Situation Room,” Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) said it would be “grounds for impeachment” if President Donald Trump pardoned his former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort if he was found guilty in the case currently being deliberated by a jury in Virginia.

Lieu said, “I believe pardoning Paul Manafort would be grounds for impeachment. Whether Republicans would act on that, I don’t think they would, which is why this November the voters across America have a chance to change the makeup of Congress and put in a real check and balance by putting in Democrats to control.”

“High crimes and misdemeanors.” Given the chance, there’s no doubt the DNC would love to re-write the federal penal codes to suit their impeachment obsession, making every action of President Donald Trump one or the other.

The Dems just missed it with Nixon, and have been trying to get it done to each Republican President since then.

I think Lieu should be impeached today. Not for anything other than being felony stupid by saying this idiotic statement.

I’m getting awfully tired of California Democrats shooting off their mouths about President Trump.

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) primarily represents the retired Henry Waxman's district, with a few added areas, like the city of Torrence where Lieu resides.

Lieu knows better than to make a dumb, incendiary statement like this, given that he's a graduate of both Standford and Georgetown Universities.

Hey all you Marxist Liberals involved in trying to ruin the Trump campaign and Trump Presidency, read the law. By the way, I hear there’s a lot of room at Gitmo. When Gitmo fills up, I’m sure we can find some appropriate hole for all the rest of the vermin who are still plotting against the President and the American people, comments anyone?

“Maybe it would be easier for Dems to list what’s not grounds for impeachment.”

His resignation would not be grounds for impeachment for starters. And...uh...if I think of anything else to add...

As I keep saying, "favoring Trump" and "voting for the GOP candidate" are not at all the same thing in many parts of the country.

Full disclosure: I will vote for the Republican nominee for the open House seat in NH-1 this Fall. However, although Trump carried NH-1 handily, I expect the Republican nominee to lose. Trump is anti-GOP in some important ways. I think he looked at his incredible primary triumph over 16 actual Republicans the way a businessman would look at a hostile takeover - dismiss management (the other candidates), and the next Monday the managers (Representatives and Senators) report for work and ask, "What now, boss?"

Lots and lots of Democrats voted for Trump. In Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, Democrats were undoubtedly responsible for his win.

There is an interesting map of counties which voted twice for Obama and then went for Trump. As you might expect, this band hugs the shores of the Great Lakes pretty closely.

People like this are fairly common here in NH-1, and one thing I know for sure is the only thing they hate worse than Democrats is Republicans.

I posted many times in January 2017 that Trump had six months to disavow the GOP and put forward 435 MAGA candidates for the 2019-2021 House. It is a shame that he did not do this.

Everything Trump does or doesn’t do is grounds for impeachment.

'Trump' is grounds for impeachment...

He probably wouldn’t pardon Manafort, but would probably commute the sentence if it was extraordinary. To date, his treatment has been unique for a tax evasion rap. No one was swindled or hurt—other than the IRS.
