I've thought about this long and hard and have even started several posts on the subject, but never completed them. Several pundits and casual observers have stated, "If Trump had not won, we'd have never known about the unmasking, illegal surveillance and the illegal collusion between the FBI, DOJ, CIA, DNC, etc., to influence the 2016 election.
The very first time I heard that I thought, "That being the case, how many times has this happened in the past? Just how deep does the corruption go and for how long?" Operations the likes of the one that's unfolding before our eyes require an incredible amount of communication and coordination. they beg many, many questions from "How does one ensure that the right people are in the right place to pull something like this off?" to "Is Christopher Steele really an EX-MI-6 officer and how much influence was the British government attempting to exert on our election?"
I've held the highest security clearance with extensive compartmented access for over 40 years, worked with or for every single one of the 17 member agencies of the Intelligence Community and have worked at the highest levels of our government - up to and including the White House - and I've never encountered even a hint of anything like what's now coming into the public light.
I've known a lot of the people whose names are in the news every day, including Mueller, Brennan, Comey, Flynn and others. The only one I hold in very high regard is Mike Flynn - a former student of mine and a "soldier's soldier" - and he's indicted!
