The reason so many millennials identify as socialists is that they’ve never been held accountable for anything. There are good, responsible people in that generation, for sure, but they so far aren’t coming forth to improve the world.

Different polls give different numbers. Over half of millennials view socialism favorably according to one poll. And over half of millennial Democrats identify themselves as democratic socialist.
But less than a third of the total millennial population identify as socialist. So the generation is more favorable to socialism than their parents, but not wholly committed to it.
Surprisingly millennial men are much more likely to identify themselves as socialist or democratic socialist than millennial women.

The good news is that just 32 percent of Millennials can define socialism.
It’s extremely difficult to pierce the veil of something introjected without critical examination. The problem is our educational system’s stubborn fascination with Marxism. Its downside is left off the curriculum and socialism gets parked in the unwary student’s worldview.
