The elite financiers attending Davos are worried about the 70 percent tax rate on earnings above $10 million proposed by freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.
"It's scary," Scott Minerd, global chief investment officer for $265 billion Guggenheim Partners, said in an interview on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
"By the time we get to the presidential election this is going to gain more momentum," said Minerd, who added that he would probably be personally impacted by it. "And I think the likelihood that a 70 percent tax rate, or something like that, becomes policy is actually very real."

Davos is a gathering of a bunch of H1-B loving jerks. Anything they don’t like I probably approve of. H1-B has been like a 70% tax on me and other American high tech workers.
“Making the rich pay their fair share.” Remember that slogan from the left. It was all talk, and it was never going to be a policy they would ever implement. Now AOC and the Young Socialist Guns want all that talk to become reality. Oh oh! The RATs created this moron and millions like her. AOC is talking about a confiscatory INCOME tax. The wealthy can and do structure their income to avoid it. The middle class, however, is screwed.
If AOC were serious, she’d be talking about a confiscatory WEALTH tax.
But since she’s not, the wealthy aren’t worried.

High tax rates for the rich is a bad idea, and that's why. That's the only statement the Davos men can make that could possibly help their cause - and even that's not a strong possibility; the best thing they could do for themselves is probably to STFU.
