wow! I positively AGREE with everyone on this topic. I hope to hell the Donald is not stupid enough to put his political neck on the block, and American servicemen’s lives on the line to rescure British shipping. The Brits are always the first in line to call us warmongers and bullies—— so let them fight their own fights. The Brits I talk to online have been taught that they owe America no favors, that we did nothing to help them in WWII until they already had Germany whipped. My English lineage goes back a loooooog way, but I’ve personally had enough of their snooty attitude.
Split the difference. Let the UK send in their Special Boat Services Teams to take the ship while the US Aircraft carrier on station provides air cover. Those ships are huge and can be easily boarded as the Iranians just proved.
If there’s a shootout during the boarding the Brits take the risks. The IAF and Navy lack the capability to directly interfere in the operation.
I agree 1000%. Let the jerks take care of themselves. I hope they get a German and a French ship too. We’ll cheer them on from the sidelines.
