Israel is reportedly threatening to remove GOD TV channel just one week after its launch, claiming it is proselytizing.

GOD TV began airing the 24/7 Hebrew-language "Shelanu TV" channel last week on Israel's HOT cable network ...
“Today we made history! For the first time ever, a Messianic television channel is broadcasting the Gospel across Israel in the Hebrew language,” GOD-TV said in a statement April 29. “Shelanu translates to ‘Ours’ in Hebrew. We want every person in Israel to know, not a foreign Messiah, but a Jewish one! His name is Yeshua and He has not forgotten His people," it continued.
But on Tuesday, Israeli Communications Minister David Ansalem said in a statement he was not aware that a license was granted to GOD TV, adding he "will not allow any missionary channel to operate in Israel, at no time and under no circumstances.”

"If indeed this channel does missionary work, it be removed immediately," the statement said.
Proselytizing to anyone under 18 years old without parental consent is against the law in Israel, according to Israeli newspaper Haaretz, and the terms of the license issued to Shelanu, prohibit missionary programming. ...
Shelanu's station manager said it's "been a challenging process" and asked for financial support on GOD TV's website "to produce relevant and dynamic content that will grab the attention of the Israeli people and open their eyes to the truth of their Messiah, Yeshua."

Michael Brown, a Messianic Jewish radio host, announced in a video on Tikkun International's website that the new channel will "preach the gospel of Jesus the Messiah in Hebrew on cable TV for the first time in history."
Israeli outlets report Christian channels Daystar and Middle East Television both broadcast on Israel's YES satellite TV and do not proselytize.

I understand your point and I disagree with it. It is not "ethnicity" ... this may work as an explanation in NY but in Israel your citizenship status is based on your religion, and those in the Jewish religion are now, by law, the ruling class.
Christians and Muslims are now second class citizens and this status, too, is based not on an ethnicity, but on religion.
This is why Netanyahu called this a "defining moment" in the state of Israel. It is.
Israel is no longer a democracy. Israel is either a theocratic state or an apartheid state. I'm choosing to go with theocracy.

Though the article mentions it it's worth noting again, in Israel it's illegal to proselytize those under 18, not to proselytize adults. Also to pay someone to convert. Obviously a TV show will reach those under 18.

Actually, a similar effort by Chabad was shut down some years ago.
No one can do this sort of thing on TV in Israel.

In Israel, the law is no one may seek to convert a child.
That includes aggressive Jewish groups (like Chabad).
But the main reason is you would not believe the number of loonies that come to Israel. Branch Davidians, Scientologists, Hare Chrisnas, Mormon offshoots, whatever.
They drew a line in the sand to keep out the crazies.
Muslims have regular prayer on the Temple Mount. Jews and Christians can get arrested for even silently moving their lips because it MIGHT be a prayer. Why is that?
