You could end US production of gas/diesel cars tomorrow, with the idiots thinking people would just naturally go out to buy the electric cars. It won’t happen. Used cars would suddenly have value and double in price within weeks. The car sales industry would stand there in shock as general interest is marginal.
You could even hand every single American $50,000 in cash if they’d buy a battery-car....it won’t reset the mentality about the acceptance.
The EV industry can only exist with incentives and coercion. BTW the whole concept is an enviormental disaster.

Hone our ICE skills and get a decoder? We recently drove from Reno to Elko NV and back. We weren’t specifically looking for any charging stations but did notice there weren’t any when we did stop. Maybe pedo joe will provide access to charging stations in the same manner as the rural internet access. You know since black folks can’t seem to figure out how to get a signal. Or hire and attorney or bookeeper or.........
So...how many new electric power plants are they going to build to power this miraculous transformation?

since we’re throwing $7500 at people to buy one now, and with all the hoopla they have managed to sell 300,000 a year. Sounds like they’ve filled that niche.
Yes, there is a base of people, who live where it’s advantageous to have one — such as commuting and being able to use HOV lanes in heavy traffic or living in a major city where range is not an issue, and for those people it’s been a real boon... and we’re paying for it!
But even with all of that, most people aren’t interested. There’s no compelling reason unless our ‘leaders’ shove it down our throats by legislative action.
The only benefit I see to electric vehicles is smugness.
Mostly the rich own these crap cars - so this amounts to Federal government subsiding the relatively wealthy at the expense of everyone else.

the whole of government, major corporate and media have signed-on to this massive social-engineering scheme, so it seems like it will happen.
Because of this government-corporate project, we can all expect to pay A LOT more for transportation, and have our every movement tracked.
They never mention where the Electricity will come from to charge these vehicles . Every inch of the planet will have to be cleared for wind turbines(need a house sized concrete and steel underground footing) and solar
The question no one wants to publicly ask: where does the energy come from that charges the batteries in an electric car? Electric cars are a scam and forcing them on society to eliminate fossil fuel burning vehicles will in the long term leave everybody stranded. The desired goal is to immobilize society where only government authorities and the military will be mobile. Control!
Where are we going to dispose of all those batteries?
Who will make up the shortfall in Federal and State gasoline taxes?

The cul de sac we live on got new PGE lines about 6/7 years ago and every home got updated with new power lines to our new smart boxes to prepare for all the new vehicles.
We have 5 Piuses on our street which is the equivalent to 2 city blocks with 18 homes total.
Also, there are 2 Teslas and a couple of Euro small vehicles posing as cars.
At least 8 homes have an office that is used daily, including ours.
One of the new home owners was going get a new Tesla and apparently PG&E/??? told him that might cause a problem.
In the summertime, when we go into high electricity demand and higher rates from 1 PM to 9 PM. If all of the Teslas, Piuses, other combo vehicles and offices went on using electricity and charging at the same time, that could/might be a problem.
Besides more use in summer with AC, we have at least 9 college kids home in our area for the holidays and summers using every electronic system they have from noon to ???? Our Comcast Business wifi slows down from about noon/1pm until 9 pm with everyone on line.
