EXCLUSIVE: What's behind the US baby bust? Americans are prioritizing careers and leisure activities over having a family... as experts say this has set the US on an irreversible path to economic destruction

The famous American work ethic helped the United States become the economic superpower of the 20th century.

But experts warn the decision to prioritize careers over families has set the country on an irreversible path to economic destruction. The reason? People do not have enough children anymore.

A baby boom in the mid-20th century saw the average woman give birth to between three and four children. Today, just 1.6 children - the lowest level recorded since data was first tracked in 1800.

This could lead to economic devastation in America down the line - as the federal government would need to collect more taxes to fund programs such as Medicare and Social Security - while dishing out less benefits to each person.

The downward trend of American fertility has accelerated in recent decades, as the 'Instagram generation' of millennials and zoomers prioritize their careers, travel and relaxation over building families.

Feminism and cell phones (TikTok, dating apps) have rendered Western women unsuitable for marriage.

You have to be able to find a woman who is or has some conservative values, and hasn’t hit the wall. That, and she has to have a mutual interest in starting a family.

A notch count < 50, and not an alpha widow, would help too.

It’s the dirty secret behind why lots of countries are letting in third world “refugees”. They have to increase the population somehow or the economies catastrophically collapse.

Letting in a bunch of illiterates and criminals from what President Trump called "sh*thole countries" will not help the economy.

Even less when Democrats load them down with other peoples' money, extracted by force (taxes).

More to that. But basically that's the perfect summary. 💯

We have 6 kiddos and a 12 passenger van. I would welcome more.

Having “lots” of kids is pretty much a social stigma in my age and career. I hardly mention anything of my personal life at work, but people act as if they’re the adults who can’t keep speaking about adult things when you’re around. Shh, hush.

The next time I’m asked the “You DO know what causes that, don’t you?” line in front of others, I’m going to ask if they know what causes HR investigations :).

Please map out how to stop that.

That's my responsibility how? I fulfilled my obligations: had children, raised them to be productive members of society and not to depend on anyone else, gave them good values, educated them, was a good example as a father and it's paying dividends to me, my family and society as a whole since they're both taxpayers and not tax takers.

Gee, I think I just mapped that out for you.

Toads like Hunter Biden?

Wallowing in money and fighting baby mama’s attempts for child support and for right to carry it’s father’s name.

Don't ignore the fact that the # of "surprise" pregnancies increased bigly since Roe V Wade.

Excellent point! As was the rest of your post which bears repeating:

If abortion wasn't an option, and if the parents who made the baby actually had to take on the burden of being a parent, they'd be a lot more apt to make sure the baby wasn't created to begin with. For example, I read years ago that almost 60% of all abortions are in a woman who had a prior abortion. Both Planned Parenthood and National Right to Life were saying it. That means that the lesson wasn't learned the first time (because the baby paid the price, not the parents). Abortion removes from the people making the decision the life lessons learned from bad decisions. Before abortion, the natural consequences of having to raise whatever babies you make has always had an amazing way of impacting how many babies are made.

Thus, if we are somehow able to both outlaw abortion and make the parents raise the baby (instead of always pushing that burden onto foster parents), we'd still have to contend with the low fertility rate problem. To solve that problem, again, I say let the natural consequences be how the life lesson is learned. If someone doesn't make kids and raise them to take care of family, then that someone will be the one facing the consequences later when he/she is too old to fend for himself. Let that happen enough times and the young people around the older helpless people will wise up and make kids with values that love family -- problem solved without government "helping" us figure it out.

No fault divorce.
Divorce laws that encourage divorce for women.
Child support that favors the government with the welfare of the child being secondary.
Child custody that favors the female.
Abortion laws which favor the female.
Glorifying adultery, particularly for women.
Glorifying promiscuity.
Normalizing the viewing of pornography.
Glorifying any aberrant sexual behavior as long as it isn’t a loving consentual relationship between two adults of the opposite biological sex.

All of this is intentional to break down the most foundational social organization, the family. The government takes the place of the family structure and tyranny follows.

They ate lots of good chicken soup that their loving mother made for them, and for me. Don’t go trying to put me on any guilt trip.
You don’t know me.
Go stand in front of a mirror and point your finger…

Yup, if they picked a guy like him, that would be a bad choice on their part. No decent guy wants to deal with that baggage.

“deal with that baggage”

There was a time when that was done on a very local level.

Now that the ComDem’s are in power, there are no longer any rules. Anbd they support the most vile in the nation to put in public office.

Not trying to guilt trip. True questions. Did you snd your wife make having g children a priority and an expectation? Chicken soup means you gave them a nice cared for life which is great. But that does not mean you gave them one with reproductive aims.
