"How does that complicate things?"
The U.S. Constitution.

How does that complicate things?
The Constitution states that if both Pres and VP are from the same state, those electoral votes don’t count. Cheney moved from TX to WY for that reason. Not a stretch, because Cheney has a long history with WY. Outside of FL, Trump’s history is with NY and NJ. Neither is desirable.

“Gee. The sponsor of this poll, wewantdonron.com, must have been pleasantly surprised at the result.”
My snark has been missing for most of the day. Maybe you found it?
To: Dr. Sivana
I can’t find any evidence of that. See post 24.

I like the metaphor of Trump and DeSantis throwing jabs at each other. It reminds me of sparing partners as team mates getting in shape for the big fight. When they get into the ring with Biden, they will beat his ass like a tin drum from both sides. All the king's horses and all the king's men will not be able to put Branden together again (my metaphor for the POS and his Dem dominated media).

Just a friendly reminder here that winning the election is not the hard part. Trump did that in 2020 but he is not living in the White House.

Electors can’t cast both votes for candidates from their state. So the Florida could not vote for Trump as Pres and DeSantis as VP. Not other states votes would be affacted.

I refer you to Article II, section 1, clause 3, and the XII amendment of the US Constitution. They cannot be from the same state.

“If President Trump were to select Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as his vice presidential running mate”
I said this, what a year ago? Now? It seems a bit late, but in politics, you just never know.
Maybe its all a grand scheme? Ron DeSantis, a national unknown, would gain exposure and experience running for president.
At the convention, Trump could pull a Ronald Reagan and pick DeSantis for VP (Like Reagan picked Bush 41, the runner up in the primaries)

“This is complicated by the fact that both are residents of Florida.”
Ah, there is that.

I have mixed feelings about such a ticket. While I do think it’s a winner, nevertheless, I would like to see De Santis remain governor long enough to cement the positive changes he’s made there since taking office as governor. Not being familiar with Florida politics, I don’t know if there’s someone in the wings who can carry on with the same policies.

It’s going to come down to “how can we beat the steal” and the only answer is by getting such an overwhelming majority that it can’t be done.
