DeSantis Slams Haley, Trump For Skipping Debate: ‘I’M THE ONLY ONE Who’s Not Running A BASEMENT CAMPAIGN’

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis criticized former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and former President Donald Trump during a town hall event this week for declining to debate ahead of the New Hampshire primary.

DeSantis made the remarks during the CNN town hall after finishing second in the Iowa caucuses this week behind former President Donald Trump, with Haley coming in third. Both DeSantis and Haley had heavily focused on the state, ad spending for both surpassing $30 million — pro-DeSantis spending reaching $35 million while pro-Haley spending reached $37 million, the most of any candidate.

“The tradition here with first-in-the-nation is something that’s very significant. I agreed to do a debate with WMUR and ABC on Thursday, and with CNN on Sunday,” DeSantis said. “I’m the only candidate that actually agreed to come to New Hampshire to debate, and what does that say? We have four candidates for president now: Joe Biden, Donald Trump, Nikki Haley, and me.”

“I’m the only one who’s not running a basement campaign at this point,” he continued. “You deserve, as a voter, to have the candidates come up, answer your questions in forums like this, have somebody like Wolf moderate a debate where you go back and forth…we’ve gotten away from, ‘Hey, let’s make let people make these decisions’ to almost like, you know, just let the media coverage determine what’s going on. I don’t think that’s what we want in a republican form of government.”

Why not Ron? God only knows you’re in the basement. 😆

If I had $35 million to drop in NH I guarantee I could do better than 4%. 😆

“I’m the only one who’s not running a basement campaign at this point,”

But by all accounts, that is where its headed. DeSantis flew too close to the sun, egged on by scumbag consultants and certain parties who want to maintain plausuble deniability.

I really think there is an “elephant in the room” that some people just don’t see:

The 2020 election was stolen.

People who can’t acknowledge that and can’t say it out loud, are living in an alternate reality. I’ve never heard Ron DeSantis acknowledge the election was stolen.

I think that’s the problem with these Republican challengers except maybe Vivek. They think 2020 wasn’t stolen, therefore they agree Trump is a liar, and they agree Jan 6 was an insurrection, and that Trump and his MAGA supporters belong in jail.

That makes them traitors in my book - and I think a ton of Republican voters feel exactly the same as me.

Good point—just pay folks to knock on doors offering bribes.

New Hampshire residents who are bought usually stay bought—even a 50% honesty rate would still make the numbers work.

;-)

DeSantis Slams Haley, Trump For Skipping Debate: ‘I’M THE ONLY ONE Who’s Not Running A BASEMENT CAMPAIGN’

Now that's arrogance.

Trump is out all the time. Just because he doesn't debate somebody as inconsequential as you, Ron, it doesn't mean that he's running a basement campaign.

Single-digits Rhonda Santis IS running a basement campaign...his numbers are IN THE BASEMENT.

Correct.

The deeper issue is courage.

Who has the courage to stand up to the Deep State?

Both DeSantis and Nikita proved they did not have the courage to state that the election was stolen and they did not have the courage to stand up for the J6 political prisoners.

That makes them useless—the average garbage collector or dog catcher has more courage and integrity.

DeSantis wants a debate? Let him go debate himself. I hear he’s a Master Debator.

I think of the desantis campaign being in the toilet, not the basement.

I’d hardly call rallies with thousands of attendees a basement campaign, Mr Sancdamonius.

Correction.... We have two candidates for President now: Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

Ron DeSantis is not serving as the Governor of Florida. Some Florida residents are wondering who is running Florida currently.

The real question is who is funding both the DeSantis and Haley campaigns?

Hmmm…for the past two days, I’ve seen Trump giving vigorous campaign speeches to large, enthusiastic crowds. Those venues didn’t look like basements.

Tucker Carlson explains the Haley funding:

I think DeSantis funding is on life support at this point.

He may have to call it quits soon.

You’re right - it’s lack of courage.

But the lack of courage quickly leads to self-deception. Once they convince themselves the election wasn’t stolen, and that Trump and his supporters are the bad guys, they are at peace in their deluded reality.

They even feel virtuous. They believe THEY are the courageous ones!
