Fate of Fani Willis Has Been Decided (23 page ruling)

Judgement Day has finally arrived for Fani Willis.

Judge Scott McAfee, who presided over the Fulton County district attorney's disqualification proceedings, has ruled that Willis must step away from the Trump prosecution or cut ties with special prosecutor Nathan Wade, the private-practice attorney she hired to prosecute former President Donald Trump and with whom she had an undisclosed affair.

Advertisement According to the 23-page ruling, McAfee ordered, "[W]ere the case allowed to proceed unchanged, the prima facie concerns raised by the Defendants would persist. As the District Attorney testified, her relationship with Wade has only 'cemented' after these motions and 'is stronger than ever.' Wade’s patently unpersuasive explanation for the inaccurate interrogatories he submitted in his pending divorce indicates a willingness on his part to wrongly conceal his relationship with the District Attorney."

"As the case moves forward, reasonable members of the public could easily be left to wonder whether the financial exchanges have continued resulting in some form of benefit to the District Attorney, or even whether the romantic relationship has resumed."

"Put differently, an outsider could reasonably think that the District Attorney is not exercising her independent professional judgment totally free of any compromising influences. As long as Wade remains on the case, this unnecessary perception will persist," Merchant continued.

The first thing I would do as an attorney representing a defendant in this case is add this Wade dude to my witness list.

WIN for Trump.

FUEL for eventual appeal.

This Judge is a spineless hack who just isn’t doing the right thing.

TRY to imagine the CONVULSING Democrats would do if the shoe was on the other foot.

Unless Kamala and Obama tell her to “get out”...”cut your losses”.

Fani is right where she wants to be. All the notoriety will provide a stepping stone for her to run for higher office. She could well be a future governor in that state. Corruption pays.

Ten to one, he’s been threatened. How he overlooks the prior relationship and its implications is outside the realm of reasonable.

So, the judge is trying to be Solomonic. Fani will just take a short break from Nathan.

She still has plenty of taxpayer money to pay someone else to bang her in the interim.

'cause the record shows that they won't do it for free...

Agree 100%. The judge is not a prosecutor.

Precisely how I feel. I thought he would do the right thing. I was hoping that he would. How utterly disappointing, indeed.

Yea, maybe so but I think it’s wuite apparent that the normal rules don’t apply. You can expect every “major” decision to go against Trump in all cases. This was an easy one. An obvious conflict and it was clear to anyone watching that things were being hidden and Trump STILL didn’t win because this has absolutely nothing about justice or law and everything to do with Presidential politics.

Black, liberal Georgia has another judge in their pocket.

As said on a different thread, the Judge is saying there is an “appearance of impropriety” and not actual impropriety. An “appearance”, while bad, might not actually be a “legal” standard. The legal standard might have to be an actual impropriety or worse. Which means, even Fani/bf could appeal this weak ruling.

Next move for the Trump team is to sue to have all material “discovered” by Wade and his team thrown out.

“appearance” is indeed a legal standard.

In my opinion, both Wade and Willis should be disbarred.

They should be taken off their pending cases upon defendant (lawyer) request so defendants don’t have to pay big money to defense lawyers to deal with prosecution people that aren’t likely to stick around.
