Support for President Donald Trump does not appear to have dwindled in the aftermath of his former lawyer Michael Cohen pleading guilty to campaign finance violations, with a new poll showing the president has maintained his approval rating. A Harvard CAPS/Harris poll provided to The Hill shows the president with a 46 percent approval rating, one point up from the same survey taken last month that showed Trump with a 45 percent approval rating."Trump continues to strengthen his job approval as the economy strengthens," Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll co-director Mark Penn told The Hill of the survey, which was conducted August...

Republican state Sen. Leah Vukmir trails Democratic U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin by just two points according to a Marquette University Law School poll released Wednesday. Baldwin leads Vukmir 49-47 percent among likely voters, but among registered voters, Baldwin is ahead by eight points. Vukmir defeated businessman Kevin Nicholson in the Republican primary election on Aug. 14. Before her victory, 66 percent of voters said they didn't know enough about her to have an opinion. That's down to 48 percent now. Among those registered voters who do have an opinion, 25 percent view Vukmir favorably, while 26 percent vie

A vast majority — 70 percent — of Americans in a new poll supports "Medicare for all," also known as a single-payer health-care system. The Reuters–Ipsos survey found 85 percent of Democrats said they support the policy along with 52 percent of Republicans. Medicare for all has been in the headlines after a study by the libertarian-leaning Mercatus Center at George Mason University found it would lead to $32.6 trillion increase in federal spending over a 10-year period. The study’s author, Charles Blahous, wrote in The Wall Street Journal earlier this month that even doubling taxes would not cover the...

Several findings point to the potential for a blue map in November: – President Trump’s job rating remains underwater. – Republicans alone say the economy is in positive shape. – The GOP tax law is less popular (40 percent favorable) than Obamacare (51 percent favorable). – The Republican Party is less popular (39 percent favorable) than the Democratic Party (50 percent favorable). – Optimism about life for the next generation of Americans is down eight points from last year. – There is greater enthusiasm to vote in the midterms among out-of-power Democrats. Meanwhile, the Trump/Russia probe isn’t going away. Approval...

While political activists have been caught up in the 2018 midterm elections for much of the past two years, most Americans haven't been paying attention. That will begin to change after Labor Day as people who don't obsess about politics begin to consider the choices before them. Because so many people are just starting to get engaged, it's challenging to predict what the results will look like when the votes are finally counted in November. However, as the summer winds down, it is clear that Republicans face an uphill battle to maintain control of the House. As for the Senate,...

We are still all Americans, no matter what the liberal left tries to tell us in order to divvy us up into malleable, moldable little voters. For democrats, it’s one of the only ways in which they can galvanize support for their doomed party. They infiltrate the youth, push progressive ideals and tribalism among the fringes, and then go after those newly created segments of voters in order to shore up the support they need to remain in power. The adverse side effects are obvious: A rapidly radicalizing liberal base that is looking to tear apart the Constitutional fabric of...

For the first time in months, Democrats and Republicans are tied on the Rasmussen Reports Generic Congressional Ballot. The latest telephone and online survey finds that 44% of Likely U.S. Voters would choose the Democratic candidate if the elections for Congress were held today. Another 44% would now opt for the Republican. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and eight percent (8%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.) A week ago, Democrats held a 48% to 41% lead on the generic ballot.

Do you remember the Zune? I barely do.Do you remember the iPod? Silly question. The iPod changed everything. While the Zune was technically superior in nearly every way to the iPod, the iPod became a phenomenon. Why? Because Apple focused on how the iPod made your life better. In marketing there is something called “The Chasm.” It’s an idea put forth by Geoffrey Moore in the early 90’s. Getting 16% market share is easy. There are nearly always one in six people who are willing to adopt the new or different thing. But, to become a social phenomenon that ‘new thing’ has to...

... “In 2016, a lot of us assumed we knew what would happen in Michigan and Wisconsin,” Salvanto told The Post. “It was a great lesson for us pollsters: Even if you think you know what will happen, poll it if you can.” Blame it on the Blue Wall. Since 1992, in six consecutive presidential elections, a solid block of 18 states had voted for the Democrat every single time. They would have given Clinton 239 electoral votes — 89 percent of the way to victory — if she had held on to them all.Few bothered to ask those states’...

Dependence on 90% voting support from African-Americans for electoral success is the jugular vein of the Democratic Party.  President Trump's rising support among black voters is correctly seen as an existential threat to the party's – and progressivism's – ability to win national elections.  That's why I thought it was big news last Saturday when Rasmussen proclaimed that black approval of Trump had hit 29%, even though most of the media ignored it for reasons AT readers well understand. But the surge in black support for President Trump is real – so real that even the far-left NAACP discovered it in a poll,...

After the results of the special election in Ohio were announced and the air was taken out of both sides, the Democrat controlled media decided to celebrate anyway. Truth be told the lackluster Republican, who got more votes on election day, might still lose because there are more than enough outstanding ballots to overcome his slim lead. Nevertheless, since the Democrat controlled media has little else in the way of honest and verifiable good news to talk about for their masters, they turned to wild talk, no make that insanely disparate talk, about Ohio being a sign that Democrats will...

An Emerson College e-Poll released on Monday shows that Tuesday’s special election in Ohio’s 12th Congressional District is a dead heat between Democrat Danny O’Connor and Republican Troy Balderson. The Emerson College Polling Society said in a statement accompanying the release of the poll: The final US Congressional special election before the November midterm elections will be held on August 7 in Ohio’s 12th district and it shows a neck and neck race: The Democrat, Franklin County Recorder Danny O’Connor has 47% of the vote and Republican, State Senator Troy Balderson is at 46%, 7% of very likely voters were...

Bill Mitchell: I am one of the foremost polling experts on Twitter. Here is the new "game" pollsters are playing. Instead of blatantly oversampling Democrats, they WILDLY over-sample Independents then claim Independents oppose Trump 2:1. A complete lie. Independents LOVE Trump.

Several recent polls about the race to succeed U.S. Sen. Bob Corker show one thing: The political battle between former Democratic Gov. Phil Bredesen and Republican U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn is so far a tossup. One recent poll, commissioned by a group linked to Senate Democrats, found Bredesen with a lead within the margin of error. A poll released Tuesday and commissioned by a pro-Trump group found Blackburn with a slim lead, though she received less support (38 percent) than in previous surveys released by the group in February and December, when she enjoyed support among likely voters north of...

President Trump's approval rating among Americans stands at 48 percent, a new poll shows. The poll from American Barometer, a new joint project by Hill.TV and HarrisX, showed that among those who approve of Trump's job performance, 23 percent did so "strongly" while 25 percent did so "somewhat." The survey also showed 52 percent disapproved of Trump's performance, with 38 percent doing so "strongly" and 14 percent disapproving "somewhat.” The poll was released on Wednesday's edition of the new online video show "What America's Thinking" with Joe Concha. Dritan Nesho, a pollster and CEO of HarrisX, said the new findings...
