Does Donald Trump have a tanning bed on his jet? I noticed last night on Fox that he had these glaring white circles around his eyes and the rest of his face was beet red. You know, from those protective eye googles that you are supposed to wear while getting your radiation dose. Just curious because I think Boehner's was spray on.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) recently released video of what the agency claims to be the first successful live-fire test of a guided .50-caliber bullet. The tests were part of DARPA’s EXACTO program, an effort to create state-of-the-art systems to increase the effectiveness of military marksmen. “For military snipers, acquiring moving targets in unfavorable conditions, such as high winds and dusty terrain commonly found in Afghanistan, is extremely challenging with current technology,” DARPA states on its website. “It is critical that snipers be able to engage targets faster, and with better accuracy, since any shot that doesn’t hit...

As the old saying goes, beware of Greeks bearing gifts; but as the new saying goes, beware even more of Republicans bearing bribes. In either case, one could get destroyed (or at least corrupted) from the inside by trusting the wrong people. Since 2006, with the beginnings of the breakaway of populist conservatives from the national Republican Party via the Tea Party movement, the GOP has been trying to figure out how to co-opt and capture it once again, just as George W. Bush did with many elements of the conservative movement in the early years of the 21st century....

UPDATED | Former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner is weighing a run for mayor of New York City, an effort that would mark an attempt to return to public life two years after he resigned in a scandal over sexually explicit messages sent to young women. An interview published Wednesday by the New York Times Magazine marked the first time Mr. Weiner has spoken at length about what led him to exchange lewd messages and photos with women he met online, the impact the scandal had on his wife and his political ambitions. “At breakfast,” the Times article says, “Weiner quickly...

A mistake has been made in the Oval Office makeover that goes beyond the beige. President Obama's new presidential rug seemed beyond reproach, with quotations from Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. woven along its curved edge. Except it's not a King quote. The words belong to a long-gone Bostonian champion of social progress. His roots in the republic ran so deep that his grandfather commanded the Minutemen at the Battle of Lexington. For the record, Theodore Parker is your man, President Obama. Unless you're fascinated by antebellum American reformers,...

The letter I sent was a copy from someone's post I found here on FR. In Cardin's response nowhere does it mention the subject of "Climategate". Total complete denial or ignorance...idiots... Dear Mr. --------: Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the American Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act (S. 1733). I understand your concerns about the impact such legislation will have on Americans. At the same time, I believe that global warming is real and needs to be addressed. The good news is that S. 1733 can be a cost effective way to address this threat and help...

Authorities believe a teen accused of plotting to hijack a plane was suicidal, and a judge was scheduled to decide Friday whether to keep him in custody. The 16-year-old, who has not been identified by authorities, was removed from a Southwest Airlines flight Tuesday night at Nashville International Airport. He was being held at a juvenile detention facility. FBI spokesman George Bolds told The Associated Press the teen had handcuffs, rope and duct tape in his bag, and was believed to be traveling alone. "His plan had a low probability of success," Bolds said. The teen was calm during the...

Americans earned a smaller average income in 2005 than in 2000, the fifth consecutive year that they had to make ends meet with less money than at the peak of the last economic expansion, new government data shows. While incomes have been on the rise since 2002, the average income in 2005 was $55,238, still nearly 1 percent less than the $55,714 in 2000, after adjusting for inflation, analysis of new tax statistics show. The combined income of all Americans in 2005 was slightly larger than it was in 2000, but because more people were dividing up the national income...
