I just took a look at their front page, loathe as I am to boosting their ad. revenues. It looks quite unusually dismal, I must say. I wish I'd written down some of their headlines, but suffice it to say, they're not crowing.

It's been a long time coming, but Windows Vista Release Candidate 1 is finally here. As Microsoft starts to collect feedback from a broad spectrum of users in one of its largest test programs ever, the company will soon be in a position to decide whether the product is solid enough to meet announced ship dates of November for enterprise customers and January 2007 for consumers. Earlier this week, I started using Vista build 5568, a version that Microsoft says should be virtually indistinguishable from the actual RC1 code. Since recent Vista revisions have been focusing on improving performance, compatibility,...

NFL Rule changes for 2006 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scout.com TheNFLexperts.com Aug 12, 2006 There are several new rules in the NFL in 2006. The NFL Competition Committee spends the early part of the offseason examining existing rules, and suggesting possible changes to the rules. Rules changes are then voted upon by the teams at the NFL Annual Meeting in the spring. No matter what the changes, NFL players and coaches know they have to be cognizant of them. “Our approach to the game is the same as it always is: to know the rules and to play within them,” says New England...

(PADUCAH, Ky.) -- A teacher in western Kentucky has been suspended and will not have her contract renewed after administrators found out she appeared in an adult movie more than a decade ago. Tericka Dye, a science teacher and volleyball coach at Reidland High School in Paducah for the last two years, was suspended Wednesday and told she would not return to the classroom in the fall. "Your presence in the classroom would cause a disruption to the educational process," McCracken County Schools Superintendent Tim Heller wrote in a letter to Dye. "I fear there would be less than a...

Do you agree with Pope Benedict XVI that a lack of true love is behind the growth in broken marriages and falling birth rates in much of the developed world? Yes No

The producers of "Get Rich or Die Tryin" are trying to figure out why fans are not flocking to their movie. Is it price of the ticket? Is it the publicity of a person getting shot at a showing? Is it because 50cent really has now fans? I have the answer. Teens are finally embracing parental values and this movie offers none of it! Thank you.

Just my take We should hate Perot more each day. As we all know Bush would have won in 1992 had it not been for Perot. Aside from the horrible presidency of Clinton, he reshaped politics. Clintons win allowed the Democrats to solidify some blue states allowed the Dems to make some states blue. For example NJ, CA, IL, WA, OR were all Republican states until Clinton. Even areas in NY like Westchester and Long Island were all Republican but have become dem because of Clinton. Clintons presidency took away some states from us and we can all point our...

Let's avoid kidding ourselves, shall we? Democrats aren't going to defeat Miers. They know the only liberal under consideration was Alberto Gonzales, the guy they used to argue that maybe Hussein wasn't so bad, as if a few humiliating photographs compared to the physical torture, starvation or execution of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi dissidents. (Man, those Democrats must've been scarred earlier in their lives. Memo to self: Don't join a fraternity that allows hazing but is "tolerant" of deviant sexual practices.) No, Harriet Miers was the best they could hope for. Sure they're afraid she MIGHT be conservative --...

Can’t a guy take a vacation without the nay-sayin ninnies of negativity taking over this place? As the self-appointed optimist of this forum, I must say that I am more than a little P-Od over what I have been reading coming from the scared keyboards of some of you folks. You act as if someone stole your little Republican cookies and ate them in front of you. Look, I know it’s not the best of times for Conservatives if you are concerned about spending or the protection of the borders. However, it escapes me why it seems impossible for some...

I’ve just received a credible tip from an LGF reader that an America West flight out of New York was fired upon by a surface to air missile yesterday, and that the pilot and passengers witnessed it and are now being questioned by the FAA and FBI. That’s the extent of the information I currently have, and please note: right now this is completely unverified.

TORONTO (Reuters) - Comedian Tommy Chong has spent almost three decades wringing laughs from cigar-sized joints and smoke-filled vans but now a nine-month jail term has turned him serious and revitalized his flagging career. Promoting his documentary "a/k/a Tommy Chong" at the Toronto International Film Festival, he hopes the film will expose what he says is the U.S. government's heavy-handed dealing with marijuana offenders in the post-September 11 era. "The United States is under martial law, it's under dictatorship," the 67-year-old father of four said in an interview. The film chronicles the Canadian-born comedian's 2003 arrest and imprisonment for selling...

Mr. West should have stayed in college. At very least he may have learned about dignity, discernment and solemnity. Kanye is an opportunistic 2-bit punk. I laughed out loud when the little boy began to tremble as he struggled to put together one coherent sentence during his Red Cross rant. Leave the politics to the politicians. Entertainers need to know that when they wander off track they risk offending half of their audience. The thinking half anyway.
