Cold fusion has been called one of the greatest scientific breakthroughs that might likely never happen. On the surface, it seems simple – a room-temperature reaction occurring under normal pressure. But it is a nuclear reaction, and figuring it out and getting it to work has not been simple, and any success in this area could ultimately – and seriously — change the world. Despite various claims of victory over the years since 1920, none have been able to be replicated consistently and reliably. But there’s buzz this week of a cold fusion experiment that has been replicated, twice. The...

ELFORSK AB, the Swedish energy R&D organization established by utilities and manufacturers in the country has issued a statement on its website commenting on the 3rd party Report which it funded, along with the Alba Langenskiöld Foundation. Here’s the statement (Google translated) Researchers from Uppsala University and KTH Stockholm has conducted measurements of the produced heat energy from a device called the E-cat. It is known as an energy catalyst invented by the Italian scientist Andrea Rossi. The measurements show that the catalyst produces significantly more energy than can be explained by ordinary chemical reactions. The results are very remarkable.

eCat: Reaction To Independent Report Posted on May 23rd, 2013 They say that there are only two things you can be certain of – death and taxes, but there appears to be another. Controversy and outrage when the scientific industrial complex feels threatened. In the wake of the independent report on Andrea Rossi’s eCat the response has been mostly positive, with headlines such as Cold fusion reactor independently verified, has 10,000 times the energy density of gas from ExtremeTech and Forbes’s own Mark Gibbs with Finally, independent testing of Rossi’s eCat cold fusion device – maybe the world will change...

E-Cat Test Coverage Roundup May 22, 2013 By admin There’s been quite a bit of attention paid to the recent Hot Cat test report, and I thought I would bring attention to a few sites where it has been mentioned so far (we have already pointed out the Forbes article). As you can see below there is a mixed response to it — but despite some misgivings about the report itself from some quarters there seems to be a new level of respect towards Rossi for carrying through with a commitment that was made, and which some people didn’t think...

Finally! Independent Testing Of Rossi's E-Cat Cold Fusion Device: Maybe The World Will Change After All Back in October 2011 I first wrote about Italian engineer, Andrea Rossi, and his E-Cat project, a device that produces heat through a process called a Low Energy Nuclear Reaction (LENR). Very briefly, LENR, otherwise called cold fusion, is a technique that generates energy through low temperature (far lower than hot fusion temperatures which are in the range of tens off thousands of degrees) reactions that are not chemical. Most importantly, LENR is, theoretically, much safer, much simpler, and many orders of magnitude cheaper...

Indication of anomalous heat energy production in a reactor device http://arxiv.org/abs/1305.3913 Authors:Giuseppe Levi, Evelyn Foschi, Torbjörn Hartman, Bo Höistad, Roland Pettersson, Lars Tegnér, Hanno Essén (Submitted on 16 May 2013) Abstract: An experimental investigation of possible anomalous heat production in a special type of reactor tube named E-Cat HT is carried out. The reactor tube is charged with a small amount of hydrogen loaded nickel powder plus some additives. The reaction is primarily initiated by heat from resistor coils inside the reactor tube. Measurement of the produced heat was performed with high-resolution thermal imaging cameras, recording data every second from...

As Rossi’s e-Cat is barely staying alive on life support, and long time friends and bloggers are losing interest, and closing down blogs, Mr. Roger Green is trying to cash in as the e-Cat gasps its last few breaths, to try and recoup his money back, leaving these last few rounds of investors holding the bag. What you will find is that Roger Green and Andrea Rossi have reached a new low. They are selling “shares” in a Japan organization that does not exist yet, to buy a “license” that does not exist yet, and the “license” is for products that...

Mr. Andrea Rossi’s latest dog and pony show was the first worldwide e-Cat church meeting with a few of the e-cat investors/licensees attending. We can’t really call this an investor’s conference because according to Mr. Rossi he has licensees for the whole world and only a few licensees showed up for this world shaking event. Officially it was called the 2012 E-Cat Conference in Zurich – “Energy Turnaround with E-Cat Technology” Mr. Andrea Rossi has been saying since early this year that the “classic” (as if there is any other kind) e-Cat, the low temperature, low pressure, wet steam, and...

Hydrofusion today issued the following press release on their web site: Hydro Fusion witnessed a new independent test of the high temperature ECAT prototype reactor on September 6th in Bologna. Although no full report has yet been received, early indications are that the results of the July 16th/August 7th reports could not be reproduced. Hydro Fusion cannot at this stage support any claims made, written or other, about the amount of excess heat generated by the new high temperature ECAT prototype

Short article from Sterling D. Allan from PESN.com: Last night, Andrea Rossi read and explained the third party tests that were done in July on his hot cat technology. The results evince outputs that approach nuclear in their power density and peak output levels. I'm presently attending the conference, so I'm not able to compose a report on this excellent E-Cat conference. That will come later. But for now, I thought you would like to see the video I shot last night. Here's the video I took of last night's presentation that Andrea Rossi gave at the E-Cat conference in...

We're used to Andrea Rossi making statements about his work on the Journal of Nuclear Physics web site. Some are more dramatic than others, and this latest one could be considered more on the dramatic side: Italo R. June 24th, 2012 at 10:42 AM Dear dr. Rossi, in these hot summer days we all are sweating. What about you, near your 600 °C device? Warm (or, better, fresh) regards… Italo R. - Andrea Rossi June 24th, 2012 at 1:37 PM Dear Italo R.: Actually, I am in the USA, close to 20 reactors working above 600 Celsius. We must collect...

Submitted to J. Condensed Matter Nuclear Science, June 2012 1 An explanation of low energy nuclear reactions (cold fusion) Edmund Storms KivaLabs. Santa Fe, NM ABSTRACT A plausible nuclear-active-environment in which LENR occurs is identified by ruling out various possibilities and by identifying an environment that is common to all successful methods. When this environment is combined with a plausible mechanism, many testable predictions result. These insights and proposals are offered to help clarify understanding of LENR and to suggest future studies. The common environment in which LENR occurs is proposed to be cracks of a critical size, followed...

NASA LENR Research June 6, 2012 Some of the inner workings behind the decision to fund LENR research at NASA have now been revealed. There are no great shock-waves and no-one should get carried away into seeing things that are not there or implied. Even so, in answering Keith Cowing’s questions (published on the NASAWatch site) Dennis Bushnell and Joe Zawodny clarify a few important points. Funding is modest but useful at under $1m so far. The decision to fund was subject to internal peer-review and NASA HQ is briefed on progress. My guess is that the latter is just...

Of all the interesting tidbits to come out of The Atom Unexplored conference in Turin, Italy in May 4, perhaps the account by Dr. Peter Hagelstein of MIT on how a prominent physicist actively worked to cut cold fusion funding was the most eye-opening. In the question and answer session held after the morning LENR portion of the proceedings, a member of the audience asked a rather poignant question regarding why scientists often fail to develop clear “road maps”  from the laboratory to the “real world.”  In responding to this question, Dr. Hagelstein gave a quite detailed and thoughtful answer...

Resource depletion, climate change and rising oil prices have led to large investments in renewable energy and new fossil fuel extraction techniques. However despite the positive headlines on solar, wind, and shale, all of these sectors are beset with problems that add to our uncertain energy future. We appear to be decades away from finding a renewable source that will help us avoid the impending energy crisis. Yet amongst this bleak outlook a relatively unknown Italian inventor could be about to spark an energy revolution? Andrea Rossi appears to have produced the first working “cold” fusion device, or low energy...

Rossi has been caught in some whopper lies. Yesterday, the New Energy Times published an extremely damning report regarding Andrea Rossi and his E-Cat: Andrea Rossi, the inventor of the Energy Catalyzer, told an inspector from the Florida Bureau of Radiation Control that he has no factory in the United States and that no nuclear reactions occur in his devices. Rossi's statements contradict nearly everything he has said in the last year about his claims of a factory and his development of a low-energy nuclear reaction device.
