She might have forgotten where home is, but Julie the cat never forgets a face. According to Current in Carmel, the black feline from Carmel, Indiana, slipped out of her home in 2012 and could not be found. At the time, Lorinda Roberts, mother to the cat’s owner, Jon Gulla, relentlessly searched for the feline, but had to refocus her efforts when Gulla was diagnosed with lymphoma shortly after Julie’s escape. Julie remained missing, but was never far from Gulla and Roberts’ thoughts. “Every once in a while you find that needle in a haystack,” Roberts told Current in Carmel...

INDIANAPOLIS (WFFT) - A new statewide poll shows Republican Mike Braun is the favorite for Indiana's U.S. Senate seat, but the race is still too close to call. The IndyPolitics.org - Mason Strategies poll released Tuesday shows Braun leading Senator Joe Donnelly 47 to 43 percent. Libertarian Lucy Brenton had three percent of the vote and seven percent were undecided. Experts say this race is still a virtual tie, especially with the number of voters who still haven't made up their mind. Monday, the Downs Center for Indiana Politics shows Donnelly with a slight lead.

Early voting numbers from several key battleground states now show Republican voters turning out in far greater numbers than Democratic ones, signaling an initial GOP surge that may dull the prospects of a so-called "blue wave" on Nov. 6. Republican voters have taken the lead in turnout numbers in Georgia, Indiana, Montana, Texas, Tennessee, Florida and Arizona -- states that Fox News analyses show are the scenes of close and pivotal House, Senate and gubernatorial races. The results are most striking in Tennessee, where 63 percent of early voters are affiliated with the Republican Party, compared to only 30 percent...

Good news, but four points happen to be the margin of error of this poll. That means the race is effectively tied, which would be in line with other recent polls showing the incumbent, Donnelly, with a lead of 2-4 points or less.As for the Kavanaugh effect, eh. There *is* evidence in this particular case to support it but there’s a bunch of evidence cutting the other way right now nationally. The poll, conducted by Mason Strategies with a margin of 3.9 percent, showed Braun leading Donnelly 47-43, Libertarian Lucy Brenton had three percent of the vote and seven...

An Indy Politics & Mason Strategies poll released on Tuesday found that Braun leads Donnelly by four points—47 to 43 percent—with Libertarian Lucy Brenton capturing three percent and seven percent of Hoosiers remain undecided. Josh Kelley, a campaign spokesman for Braun, said in a statement that Braun has the momentum on his side two weeks ahead of the November midterm election. “Mike Braun has all the momentum in this race because Hoosiers are...

Republican-affiliated voters have outpaced Democratic-affiliated voters in early voting in seven closely-watched states, according to data provided by TargetSmart and independently analyzed by the NBC News Data Analytics Lab. Hoosier businessman and Senate Republican candidate Mike Braun has surged in the Indiana Senate race only two weeks before the November election, according to a poll released on Monday. Sen. Joe Donnelly’s popularity has continued to plummet ever since he decided to vote against Judge Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court. Since the Senate confirmation vote, the incumbent Democrat’s favorability and his polling has bottomed out. According to a recent poll conducted by the Braun campaign from October 14-17, Braun leads Donnelly by 44 to 40 percent, with seven percent backing Lucy Brenton, and five percent of voters remain undecided....

The recent 35% increase in truck only tolls on roadways in Indiana has led to some unintended consequences – truckers are now avoiding the toll roads altogether and are instead using back roads not meant for large commercial vehicles. The toll increase went into effect on October 5th of this year as part of a $1 billion infrastructure plan by Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, who claims that the 35% truck-only toll increase is fair because of the damage large trucks do to roadways, despite the fact that much of the money raised by the tolls will be used for improving the state’s...

The Indiana Senate race is one of the closest midterm elections in the country, and like the other close races, it’s been nationalized. Instead of a contest between two distinct candidates from opposing parties, the election has become a referendum of sorts on President Trump’s first two years in office. But this is Indiana, so it’s a strange, non-binary kind of referendum. Trump carried the state by 19 points and remains hugely popular here. Strange as it might be to see a Democrat in 2018 bragging about being aligned with Trump, that’s exactly what Democratic incumbent Sen. Joe Donnelly is...

Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill made a call to action Monday for the U.S. Supreme Court to take on a critical pro-life case. Hill said he wants the Supreme Court to rule on a lawsuit about a 2016 pro-life law that bans abortions performed because of the unborn child’s race, gender or disability, such as Down syndrome. It also requires medical facilities to bury or cremate fetal remains. According to Indiana Public Media, Hill said the fetal characteristic abortion ban guards against discrimination. He also argued the state has the right to require fetal remains to be treated with dignity....

LAPORTE — Law enforcement in LaPorte County is preparing for the possibility of an already-congested and dangerous U.S. 20 being overrun with more semi-trucks as drivers avoid the 35 percent cost increase of traveling the Indiana Toll Road. Much of that stretch of highway being down to one lane in each direction for resurfacing adds to the concerns. LaPorte County Sheriff John Boyd said he’s reached out to Indiana State Police to help patrol U.S. 20 if an increase in truck traffic becomes too much for his staff to handle alone. “We’re going to prepare for it,” Boyd said. “We’re...

If there is a silver lining in the tragic farce wrought on the nation by the Democratic Party in the Judge Brett Kavanaugh nomination hearings it is this: Regular Americans are recoiling at the shocking spectacle and Democrat support is plummeting. Every new poll coming out is uniformly showing middle Americans fleeing from the Democrats while a once-mildly apathetic Republican Party has been ginned up to energetic levels equal to the Democratic base. Further trouble for the much-hyped blue wave is that black voters are trending against Democrats, participating in the #walkaway movement and viewing the Kavanaugh moment very differently...

Vice President Mike Pence refused to cower in the face of hostile leftist protesters who swarmed the Capitol Building after the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Instead of exiting through a back door, Pence chose to leave the building from the front, where an angry mob had gathered to screech “Shame! Shame! Shame!” to protest Kavanaugh’s confirmation. In an unforgettable coup de grâce, Pence cheerfully waved to the motley crew of unruly leftists as he made his stylish exit. . . . This liberal protester pictured below threatened to kill Brett Kavanaugh and President Trump. “I’d shoot that...
