Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein’s attempts to recount the election results in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania are now over. Although Stein only secured a complete recount in Wisconsin, she is claiming to have won a victory for voters by exposing weaknesses in the voting system. In fact, Stein’s greatest service may have been to validate the Wisconsin results ― and thus demonstrate that voting irregularities did not tip the election in Donald Trump’s favor. “I’d like to think that the public appreciates that as a result of the examinations that occurred, that the results were not corrupted in any...

With her three-state recount effort effectively over, Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein on Tuesday announced her plans for what’s next: to ask donors which organizations should receive the campaign’s leftover money At latest count, Stein had raised $7.33 million for the recount in just 2.5 weeks, and from more than 161,000 donors. The campaign’s latest estimate of costs puts the total recount-related expenses at about $7.4 million -- meaning as of now, there would not necessarily be money left over.

LANSING — All sides agreed Tuesday that state and local election officials did a generally good job on a statewide presidential recount that was halted by the courts on Wednesday after two and a half days of counting. But testimony before the Board of State Canvassers differed on whether the partial recount requested by Green Party candidate Jill Stein served a useful purpose. Still, the board voted Tuesday 3-1 to formally reject Stein's request for a recount. To Stein attorney Mark Brewer, who formally withdrew Stein's recount request at Tuesday's meeting of the state elections panel, the recount turned up...

Well, why not? Donors to Jill Stein’s ludicrous efforts to recount states with too-large-to-change gaps wasted their money while promising the undeliverable. Her fantasies about roving bands of hackers carrying floppy disks visiting every voting machine in only states that Donald Trump won turned out to be paranoid delusions. Wisconsin’s statewide recount, 70% of which was done by hand, produced only a 0.055% change in the outcome … and increased Trump’s lead by 131 votes. Michigan’s results before the recount got shut down at the 40% mark show a similarly small net change (0.078%). Fresh off of that success, Stein...

Green Party candidate Jill Stein’s Michigan recount unintentionally exposed major voter fraud in Detroit. Election officials in Michigan found that 37% of precincts in Detroit tabulated more ballots than the number of voters tallied by workers in the poll books. Hillary Clinton won Wayne County over Donald Trump 67% to 30%. State officials are planning to examine about 20 Detroit precincts where ballot discrepancies occurred. Detroit News reported: Voting machines in more than one-third of all Detroit precincts registered more votes than they should have during last month’s presidential election, according to Wayne County records prepared at the request of...

Ten days after it began amid accusations of computer hacking and voter fraud, Wisconsin’s unprecedented presidential recall is over. Donald Trump, by 131 more votes than he originally claimed in last month’s general election. The certified recount confirms that Trump is the first Republican presidential nominee to win Wisconsin since 1984. The loser, her critics say, was definitely Jill Stein, the Green Party also-ran who dragged the Badger State into her computer hacking conspiracy theory. Stein, who finished fourth in the election with 31,006 votes, paid an estimated $3.5 million for the statewide recount – a costly and arduous process...

(AP) Republican Donald Trump’s victory in Wisconsin was reaffirmed Monday following a recount that showed him defeating Democrat Hillary Clinton by more than 22,000 votes. Wisconsin finalized its recount on the same day that a federal judge issued a stinging rejection of a Green Party-backed request to recount paper ballots in Pennsylvania’s presidential election and scan some counties’ election systems for signs of hacking. Green Party candidate Jill Stein successfully requested, and paid for, the Wisconsin recount while her attempts for similar statewide recounts in Pennsylvania and Michigan were blocked by the courts. Stein only got about 1 percent of...

I couldn't help myself - I joined Twitter today and tweeted to Hillary that she should be ashamed of herself for attempting a coup in America. It was liberating, but risky because if she read it while drunk (fairly likely) I could be in real trouble. Fellow Freepers, if I stop posting please check local state parks for my body in case I commit suicide by shooting myself in the head 3 times.

Donald Trump has won the recount in Wisconsin, officials announced on Monday, certifying the president-elect as the 2016 victor in the Badger State. The recount, spearheaded by Green Party candidate Jill Stein, called into question Trump's narrow victory in the state, but the resulting recount found few errors. Shortly before the state's Elections Commission certified the recount results on Monday, the state had overturned just 25 votes, the The Washington Post reports. Trump still leads Clinton by approximately 22,000 votes in the state. Pennsylvania officials also certified Trump's victory on Monday—the state, however, had rejected Stein’s request for a recount.

And then there was only Wisconsin. As widely expected, US District Court Judge Paul S. Diamond denied a demand from Jill Stein to order a statewide recount in Pennsylvania. Time had run out on that option, Diamond ruled, and he did not want to “disenfranchise some six million Pennsylvania voters.” A federal judge rejected a Green Party-backed request to recount paper ballots in Pennsylvania’s presidential election, won by Republican Donald Trump, and scan some counties’ election systems for signs of hacking. So far, no publication of the order has emerged, but this outcome was all but certain on Friday. The...

A federal judge dealt another blow Monday to the Green Party-backed push for a presidential election recount in key battleground states, rejecting a request to recount paper ballots in Pennsylvania and scan some county systems for signs of hacking. The Green Party has made similar attempts at recounts in Wisconsin and Michigan, all states won by President-elect Donald Trump. But while the Wisconsin count is almost done, a federal judge halted Michigan's recount last week - the decision Monday in Pennsylvania amounts to another setback for Jill Stein and her allies. In his 31-page decision, U.S. District Judge Paul Diamond...

A federal judge on Monday issued a stinging rejection of a Green Party-backed request to recount paper ballots in Pennsylvania's presidential election, won by Republican Donald Trump, and scan some counties' election systems for signs of hacking. In his 31-page decision, U.S. District Judge Paul Diamond said there were at least six grounds that required him to reject the Green Party's lawsuit, which had been opposed by Trump, the Pennsylvania Republican Party and the Pennsylvania attorney general's office.

Former Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein received another defeat Monday morning, in her efforts to force a recount of election ballots in Pennsylvania. U.S. District Judge Paul Diamond said “No,” on Monday, rejecting the case completely. Out of the 6 million votes cast in Pennsylvania, Trump had won over Clinton by about 44,000 votes. Stein had gone after the states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.

Democratic stronghold City of Milwaukee and a few others. Hillary Clinton has only reduced Donald Trump’s lead by several dozen votes in the days of recounting, nowhere near enough to alter the election. Trump won Wisconsin by more than 22,000 votes. Green Party nominee Jill Stein paid at least $3.5 million in donated money for the recount. The latest spreadsheet released December 11 shows that the City of Milwaukee’s totals still have not been fully updated to include absentee ballots, even though the Milwaukee County Clerk told the news media the recount was completed on Thursday, December 8, and only minor...

A federal judge ruled late Wednesday night that the Michigan recount should immediately be halted. The judge noted that the recount was a waste of taxpayer money as there was no proof of fraud or mistakes presented by Jill Stein or the Green Party. US District Judge Mark Goldsmith noted that a “recount as an audit” of an election with no proof of fraud has never been endorsed by any court and that Michigan will be no exception. However, Recount 2016 leader Jill Stein says the ruling was “disheartening.” CNN reports that a federal judge squashed all hopes of a...
