The Russian Navy reportedly has a new weapon that can disrupt the eyesight of targets as well as make them hallucinate and vomit. Russian state news agency RIA Novosti reported that a Russian military contractor has installed the weapon on two Russian warships. The weapon fires a beam similar to a strobe light that affects the target's eyesight, making it more difficult for them to aim at night. During testing, volunteers reportedly used rifles and guns to shoot targets that were protected by the weapon. The volunteers reported having trouble aiming because they couldn't see. Additionally, about half of the...

Thousands of people across Russia on Sunday took to the streets to call for trash reform, in what has become a political flashpoint for the country. Organizers said some 26 regions took part in a nationwide demonstration titled “Russia is not a dump,” in protest of Moscow’s plan to solve a trash crisis by sending waste to surrounding regions. Last March, more than fifty children were hospitalized in a town outside of Moscow after a trash dump began emanating noxious fumes, sparking protests across the Moscow region. On Jan. 1, so-called national “trash reform” took effect, which tasked regions with...
  • Radicals Are Running Amok In The Democratic Party

For decades, conservatives have not been welcomed in the Democratic Party. Today, neither moderates nor mainstream liberals have a home in the party. It has been captured by an extreme band of far-left activists who espouse very progressive as well as dangerous socialist policies. This sprint to the left has intensified in recent months on a range of issues of critical importance to the American people. In Congress, the main spokespeople for the Democratic Party are progressive superstars like 29-year-old U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who espouses a “Green New Deal” and a 70% income tax rate. Not to be...

The Israeli government released a report Sunday claiming to reveal close links between the Palestinian-led boycott movement against Israel and militant groups. Israel’s Strategic Affairs Ministry, which leads the country’s efforts against the boycott movement, said it uncovered extensive connections between pro-boycott groups and activists affiliated with Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. The Boycott, Divest and Sanctions movement dismissed the report as “wildly fabricated.” The 80-page report claims several dozen current or former members of the Palestinian groups, both designated terrorist organizations by the U.S., European Union and Israel, are involved in BDS activity through...

President Trump expressed optimism he’d reach a denuclearization deal with North Korea and said he’d announce the date of a second summit with Kim Jong-un likely by Tuesday’s State of the Union address. “I think North Korea wants to make a deal,” Trump told CBS’ “Face the Nation” in an interview that aired Sunday. Trump’s intelligence chiefs testified before lawmakers last week that it would be very unlikely that North Korea would give up its nuclear program. Trump, however, said that Kim Jong-un is “tired” and there’s a “good chance” of cementing a deal that could boost the North Korean...

Likely Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama told supporters Iran is just a “tiny” country at a campaign stop in Oregon Sunday evening. "Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union. They don't pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us,” Obama said. Obama’s rivals, including his fellow Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton, have criticized Obama for his willing to meet with Iran, a state sponsor of terrorism. Presumptive GOP presidential nominee John McCain issued a strong retort to Obama's assessment at a stop in Chicago on Monday. "The...

Alternating harsh anti-American rhetoric reminiscent of the 1960s with efforts to moderate his language in pursuit of middle-class voters, the Workers' Party candidate tried to distance himself from the Forum de Sao Paulo, a group of mostly hard-line communist and leftist parties from around the world that he helped found in 1990. Its last meeting was held in Havana in December. SAO PAULO - Luiz Inacio ''Lula'' da Silva, a longtime critic of the U.S. role in Latin America, could become Brazil's next president, but he rejects speculation that he would form a political alliance with Venezuela and Cuba...

His name is Touraj Esmaeeli, and you haven’t heard it before. And yet, he’s a big story. He worked as a top advisor to the Iranian intelligence service, as an expert on that country’s cyberwar against the United States and other Western countries. Several of his colleagues have been arrested since last spring, accused of spying, but the spybust hasn’t been widely covered. Esmaeeli scooted off to Istanbul, where he first checked in to a hotel and then barely escaped a combination of Iranian and Turkish agents who had come to arrest him. He has taken refuge in a Western...

An NBC News analysis of the main English-language news sites employed by Russia in its 2016 election meddling shows Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, who is set to make her formal announcement Saturday, has become a favorite of the sites Moscow used when it interfered in 2016.

NBC NEWS PUBLISHED a predictably viral story Friday, claiming that “experts who track websites and social media linked to Russia have seen stirrings of a possible campaign of support for Hawaii Democrat Tulsi Gabbard.” But the whole story was a sham: the only “experts” cited by NBC in support of its key claim was the firm, New Knowledge, that just got caught by the New York Times fabricating Russian troll accounts on behalf of the Democratic Party in the Alabama Senate race to manufacture false accusations that the Kremlin was interfering in that election.

An eight-day "ultimatum" for Venezuela's President Maduro to call fresh elections is set to expire in hours. Several EU nations are preparing to recognize Juan Guaido as interim leader, but Maduro remains defiant. Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro faces massive pressure to call for new elections before midnight on Sunday. Germany, France, Britain, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands and Belgium have said they will recognize opposition leader Juan Guaido as president if Maduro fails to announce a second vote before the eight-day ultimatum expires. France's European affairs minister, Nathalie Loiseau, told LCI television on Sunday that "if by tonight [President] Maduro does...

Every American should get behind the Trump administration’s efforts to free Venezuela and its 30 million people. Venezuelans have waited too long to be liberated from Nicolás Maduro – an illegitimate despot who has bankrupted and corrupted the nation. Venezuela was once an oil-rich nation that could have lifted its people out of poverty and become a shining example of progress and development in Latin America. It was a vibrant democracy that had everything going for it. I know because several decades ago I worked with two of Venezuela’s presidents, helping them understand the aspirations of their people through polls....

An active Venezuelan general called on the armed forces to rebel against President Nicolas Maduro and to recognize the opposition leader Juan Guaido as interim chief as pressure at home and abroad grows on the head of state to step down. In a video circulating on Twitter on Saturday, General Francisco Yanez of the air force's high command, said most of the armed forces already disavowed Maduro, who claims he is victim of a coup directed by the United States. "People of Venezuela, 90 percent of the armed forces of Venezuela are not with the dictator, they are with the...

MOSCOW — Following in the footsteps of the U.S., Russia will abandon a centerpiece nuclear arms treaty but will only deploy intermediate-range nuclear missiles if Washington does so, President Vladimir Putin said Saturday. U.S. President Donald Trump accused Moscow on Friday of violating the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces treaty with "impunity" by deploying banned missiles. Trump said in a statement that the U.S. will "move forward" with developing its own military response options to Russia's deployment of banned cruise missiles that could target Western Europe. Moscow has strongly denied any breaches and accused Washington of making false accusations in order...

CARACAS - Venezuela will sell 15 tonnes of gold from central bank vaults to the United Arab Emirates in coming days in return for euros in cash, a senior official with knowledge of the plan said, in a bid by the cash-strapped country to stay solvent. The sale of gold reserves that back the Bolivar currency began on Jan. 26 with a shipment of 3 tonnes, the official said, and follows the export last year of $900 million of unrefined gold to Turkey.

Former Secretary of State and failed Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry said that “our democracy might not be able to survive four more years of Donald Trump” in a fundraising email to supporters of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) on Wednesday. “I’m worried about the state of our democracy under Donald Trump,” Kerry wrote. “This president’s complete disregard for diplomacy has embarrassed our nation on the world stage and he’s weakened the very foundation of our democracy.” Kerry then accused Trump of dividing Americans at home and isolating America from the rest of the world.

Russians have obtained evidence from special counsel Robert Mueller’s inquiry into Moscow’s interference in US politics and altered it in a bid to discredit the probe, federal prosecutors have claimed. The files were shared with attorneys working for Concord Management and Consulting, a Russian company that allegedly funded hacking operations by Russia’s Internet Research Agency (IRA), they said in a court filing.

In an ambitious, unprecedented move, the Indian Air Force is currently in the final stages of a move that could ruffle feathers in Russia — mating a British missile system with its Russian-origin Su-30 MKI fighters, something it has never done before. Top IAF sources tell Livefist that a pair of HAL-built Su-30 MKI jets have undergone requisite software modifications to deploy the MBDA ASRAAM heat-seeking close combat air-to-air missile. What the IAF intends to do is fully replace the Su-30 MKI’s current close combat missile — the Russian-built Vympel R-73 — with the ASRAAM in phases. For a...

The ‘Ethics’ of Trump’s Border Wall A wall would cause harm to immigrants and refugees, all of whom are equal to us in the eyes of God. Is the border wall ethical? President Trump has suggested the wall is moral and those who oppose it immoral. His critics claim the opposite. To answer this, we have to consider its effect on humans. What harm could a border wall cause to immigrants and refugees, all of whom are equal to us in the eyes of God? Some people who cross the border are in desperate search of work to support their...
