Why should good-hearted people be buying BMWs for the so-called grieving father? I don't like the VDs either and nobody should be buying them cars. It's tough to prove Pierce has done nothing in the field of child-abuse because there is nothing there. Or is that proof?
To: FresnoDA
Of course you mean WITH impunity, but I agree with you. I am about to post my percentages again, which will be unchanged. Looks like Pierce agrees with me!

There is no proof that good hearted people bought them a car, I would suspect they could afford their own, and it's possible they had a life insurance policy. People who live in $300,000+ houses can generally afford nice cars.. Ok, I gotta get back to chores..and to watch king.

Exchange information? I've been reading your tripe now for several weeks. You call one-liner's INFORMATION EXCHANGE? I call your posts merely reactionary and sanctimonious.
FresnoDA has posted excellent articles and insightful commentary. He's been joined by many others. I have posted extensively on the case, but of course, unlike you, I am open to the possibility that the van Dams could be involved.
If you want to be regarded seriously as an INFORMATION Exchange specialist like FresnoDA I suggest you begin by A. Uncovering information, and B. Exchanging it.
You may not like FresnoDA's information or his personal views but as a participant in this forum you can't hold a candle to him.

Oh, so they may have spent Danielle's life insurance money on a BMW? Sort of takes the blues away after losing a child, huh?

I hope they spent some money on a burglar alarm monitoring company..and for training that poor dog....

It's a new custom. When your child dies, you go on a shopping spree and buy yourself a new car. If there are enough donations, maybe a trip to Disneyworld and a new house. It's the latest in California grieving.
To: spectre
Do you know anyone who has a life insurance policy on their child? I don't. The purpose of insurance is supposed to be as replacement income if the person the policy is on dies and is no longer bringing in that income. Unless it turned out to be true that something exceedingly nefarious was going on, she would not be an income producer, she would be a consumer of income.

Don't forget that Nordstroms has to open early, so the grieving Mother can buy a $250 skirt to wear to the Preliminary Hearing, on the recommendation of their "PR" advisors. The left coast is a remarkable place.

Ref your #58, thank you for your kind response. My gut tells me the same: that he's one of the "second type" in my post #52, in other words, a Don Quixote. And these types do tend to be odd, not slick at all, easy to ridicule, sadly. (Whereas the circus hounds tend to be quite slick, indeed.)
My Dad, plus one the wisest bosses I ever had, told me to always to always listen to my gut. They were right. Oh, how they were right!
One caveat here, though: Some "advocate" types do tend to read too much of their own experiences, their cause, into some situations. Not the norm, but does happen. Pierce doesn't particularly strike me as one of these, but it doesn't particularly strike me that he isn't, either. I'd have to know him, I guess, but I don't.
My guess is either he's the on-the-mark Don Quixote, or he's an "advocate" with flawed perception, not a publicity hound. But that's just my humble guess.

Do you know anyone who has a life insurance policy on their child? Ask any insurance agent why one should insure a child. The term "final expense" pops up. It is a frightful term meaning the burial of the child.
To: Amore
I carry life insurance on my children - but from what my insurance agent told me, it is rare to carry more on a child than what would cover the cost of burial if God forbid, something awful happens. The "norm" is definitely not enough to buy a BMW.......
To: Amore
NO! I don't know anyone who insures their child, maybe for burial?
KIM suggested it, NOT ME! I think her mere suggestion of it, was...how can I say this delicately....stupid!

I'm sure they do have such policies. But if so, it would be limited to that purpose, not like grown-up life insurance for 100s of thousands of dollars. Further, I repeat, I don't know anyone who has a life insurance policy on their child, and the vast majority of people don't -- for the reason I stated.

I have a SMALL life insurance policy on my children (through work). It's around the 5K range- which is pretty typical for a child policy. They are usually for the purpose of paying for death expenses- not income replacements. It's recommended to have one in case- God Forbid- something happens so you can afford to take care of everything.
It's certainly not enough for a new BMW! (Or any new car for that matter!)

Well, JW is certainly being the good VD apologist tonight on LK(almost)L.

Hi Kim! Just found this thread and have been reading to try & gain not only understanding of these latest developments but their relation to the case, and points at hand.
In re: the purchase of a BMW M3, CalDMV records should be able to give feedback on either a new registration or application for title/registration.

KIM suggested it, NOT ME! I think her mere suggestion of it, was...how can I say this delicately....stupid! Yes, I know you didn't say it. Sorry, didn't mean to imply that you said it. It's just that you had already responded to her, so I was responding to your response.
