I don't like the VDs either and nobody should be buying them cars. It's tough to prove Pierce has done nothing in the field of child-abuse because there is nothing there. Or is that proof?

There is no proof that good hearted people bought them a car, I would suspect they could afford their own, and it's possible they had a life insurance policy. People who live in $300,000+ houses can generally afford nice cars.. Ok, I gotta get back to chores..and to watch king.

FresnoDA has posted excellent articles and insightful commentary. He's been joined by many others. I have posted extensively on the case, but of course, unlike you, I am open to the possibility that the van Dams could be involved.

If you want to be regarded seriously as an INFORMATION Exchange specialist like FresnoDA I suggest you begin by A. Uncovering information, and B. Exchanging it.

You may not like FresnoDA's information or his personal views but as a participant in this forum you can't hold a candle to him.

Do you know anyone who has a life insurance policy on their child? I don't. The purpose of insurance is supposed to be as replacement income if the person the policy is on dies and is no longer bringing in that income. Unless it turned out to be true that something exceedingly nefarious was going on, she would not be an income producer, she would be a consumer of income.

Don't forget that Nordstroms has to open early, so the grieving Mother can buy a $250 skirt to wear to the Preliminary Hearing, on the recommendation of their "PR" advisors. The left coast is a remarkable place.

Ref your #58, thank you for your kind response. My gut tells me the same: that he's one of the "second type" in my post #52, in other words, a Don Quixote. And these types do tend to be odd, not slick at all, easy to ridicule, sadly. (Whereas the circus hounds tend to be quite slick, indeed.)

My Dad, plus one the wisest bosses I ever had, told me to always to always listen to my gut. They were right. Oh, how they were right!

One caveat here, though: Some "advocate" types do tend to read too much of their own experiences, their cause, into some situations. Not the norm, but does happen. Pierce doesn't particularly strike me as one of these, but it doesn't particularly strike me that he isn't, either. I'd have to know him, I guess, but I don't.

My guess is either he's the on-the-mark Don Quixote, or he's an "advocate" with flawed perception, not a publicity hound. But that's just my humble guess.

Ask any insurance agent why one should insure a child. The term "final expense" pops up. It is a frightful term meaning the burial of the child.

I carry life insurance on my children - but from what my insurance agent told me, it is rare to carry more on a child than what would cover the cost of burial if God forbid, something awful happens. The "norm" is definitely not enough to buy a BMW.......

I'm sure they do have such policies. But if so, it would be limited to that purpose, not like grown-up life insurance for 100s of thousands of dollars. Further, I repeat, I don't know anyone who has a life insurance policy on their child, and the vast majority of people don't -- for the reason I stated.

I have a SMALL life insurance policy on my children (through work). It's around the 5K range- which is pretty typical for a child policy. They are usually for the purpose of paying for death expenses- not income replacements. It's recommended to have one in case- God Forbid- something happens so you can afford to take care of everything.

It's certainly not enough for a new BMW! (Or any new car for that matter!)

In re: the purchase of a BMW M3, CalDMV records should be able to give feedback on either a new registration or application for title/registration.
