This is quite an amazing website. There are many articles, letters, and debates. Go check it out and send thanks to this very brave person. I'd like to thank the Freeper who provided a link to this site a few days ago.

I apologize if someone has posted this before. I don't have a good record when it comes to posting unseen articles.

Islam: The Religion of Poverty The greatest gift of Islam to its followers is poverty. All Islamic countries with the exception of those that have oil are poor.

Hey! That's my line. I've been banging on this one for at least 2 years. Turkey is the exception.

I know many of you are pessimistic about it but I foresee the end of Islam at sight. I am not concerned of the ignorant mass of Muslims. The intellectuals of Islam are turning against it and it is the intellectuals that chart the course of the history not the ignorant mass. A billion ignorant Muslims can do nothing to stop the momentum that a few of their enlightened intellectuals who have turned against Islam can generate. They eventually will have to give in and follow their intellectuals or they will be annihilated under the pressure of poverty like Afghanistan and Iran.

I agree with this diagnosis. 9-11 will be the catalyst for the ascendancy of the reformers, just as it has already catalyzed the barring of the doors in Europe. Bottom line: you don't tug Superman's cape and live.

The author has great points, however, he makes numerous statements that Christianity is "illogical."

Thank you, Mr. Spock----but an example of this thesis would be welcome. Christianity is not "illogical"--but truth itself.

Other than that--interesting.

Once the light of knowledge dissipate the darkness of ignorance and the fear of this revengeful monster called Allah is vanished, Islam will die a quick death.

YES! This writer gives hope.

Yes, it is notable that the author claims that Islam and Christianity are dying out, but not a word about Hinduism or other religions. A very flawed article.

Great article!

I like the part about islam dying out. I can't say I'm happy about the conclusions regarding Christianity...but when one looks at how many people live by the tenets of Christianity, one cannot help but wonder.

I still recall when Charles, Prince of Wales, advocated a conversion of one of his titles from Defender of The Faith (an explicity Christian title) to Defender of Faith (a title meant to be inclusive of all faiths).

Let's be honest....how many people celebrate Easter as anything but an opportunity to hunt eggs?

I always doubted when someone told me what God says while threatening me with a gun at the same time. Must be holy scripture indeed. (sarcasm)

Good point. If we imposed strict logical paradigms for all our truth claims we would be thoroughgoing skeptics. Maybe that's his general philosophical argument. He also misunderstands Christian religious fundamentalism which has never been regressive in perspective economically and politically speaking (advocating separation of church and state) and never advocates violence as a vehicle for its message.

However, he has some very good observations as far as Islam is concerned.

This is quite an amazing website.

I agree, and thank you for posting it. We have had the privelege, in our lifetime, of seeing the collapse of communism's credibility. The largest remaining visible foe of the Christian gospel is Islam. Could it be we'll see that bogey fall as well?

I pray we may be equal to the opportunities!

As I understand it, Hinduism is a very diverse religion. People are free to worship whatever hindu god they want to.
