Can You Help America?

Can You Help America?

Are you willing to give five minutes or more of your time to think about a solution to a very costly problem that exists in every State in the Union?

If you listen to Rush Limbaugh on TV or on his radio show, you will hear him discuss how dumb and ineffective Democrats can be. He has been saying that the Democrats are only good at whining about problems, not at fixing problems. Rush says the Republicans are the only party that actually fixes problems. Do you believe this? FreeRepublic.com is overflowing with Republicans isn't it? I propose that the Republican FReepers attempt to find a solution to this major problem and demonstrate to America just how effective Republicans (and FReepers) can be.

In the early 1960s, approximately 62,000 illegal aliens came across the Mexican border, and the INS considered this notable and worthy of action. Now, in the first decade of the 21st Century, hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens enter the United States across the Mexican border each year and the INS declares the problem too big to tackle because nothings stems the tide. Federal immigration laws state that sneaking into America without going through the INS Border Patrol stations is illegal. Hiring an illegal alien is illegal. Sheltering an illegal alien is illegal. And keeping knowledge from law enforcement as to the whereabouts of an illegal alien is illegal. With Agenda 21, the politicians are looking at every way possible to give those who break these laws a pass by granting amnesty and American citizenship to illegal immigrants. Agenda 21 means effectively removing the borders between Mexico and the US. NAFTA just opened our roads to tractor trailers from Mexico. This situation will become much worse.

This problem has been ignored in just about every city and county in America while costing exorbitant amounts of taxpayer dollars, spent on social welfare and the education of illegal aliens. Ignoring this problem also comes with the cost of an increasing crime rate resulting in too many American citizens being victims at the hands of illegal aliens. Governments at all levels, federal, state and local are not protecting America's federal nor State sovereignty,. nor are they protecting American citizens.

Why should you and I support a federal lawbreaker in our State? So an incumbent politician can get reelected with their illegal vote? I don't think so!

Matricula consular identification cards are solid identification of an illegal allien. If you can't show a birth certificate, a Visa or a green card then you are an illegal alien who has broken our immigration laws. They must leave America and reenter within our laws. We shouldn't have to amend our laws to accommidate lawbreakers! What example does that set for those who are attempting to enter America legally? Much more important: What example does this give our children? That breaking the law can be a rewarding act? If our immigration laws carry no penalty for being broken, why should bank robbery, or molesting children be punished? Do we make our laws for them to be ignored by aliens and politicians? Is a vote more precious than our standards and ideals? Our politicians must believe so, judging from their responses.

The words "protect the people" are found in virtually every Oath of Office taken by elected and appointed officials in the US, including the police chiefs, mayors, county sheriffs, state legislators, governors, congressional representatives, and senators. Sadly, not one of these officials on the public dole is taking their Oath of Office seriously when it comes to the issue of illegal immigration.

The Supreme Court of the United States has wisely ruled that the Feds cannot force state, county or city law enforcement officers to enforce federal laws (including immigration laws), and our local and state officials use this as an excuse to turn their heads on the problem of illegal immigration while our communities slide steadily downhill. Government officials continue to demand higher taxes to keep the illegal immigration problems under "control" yet we can only sit back in wonderment as they pay lip service to the problem while actually enacting legislation and policies that encourage people to emigrate to the US illegally with promises of social welfare and education benefits.

Being an American is a primarily a state of mind for all of us - being a proud American is based on the idea of freedom and self-reliance. We are all immigrants from one country or another, and we (or our forebears) became Americans by consciously subscribing to these ideas. We came here legally, we obey the laws and we promote the idea that others obey the laws in the same way. Are we supposed to sit and wait while the political class comes up with the politically correct so-called solutions that fail to keep America strong and our families safe?

How many foreign college students choose each year to stay in America rather than obey the conditions upon which they entered America? How many older vistors choose to stay at the end of their vacations? How many deported criminal aliens return using a different name? How many Muslims are in America illegally studing our open way of life, just waiting for an opportunity to repeat 9/11? I am sure we have illegal aliens from every country in this world enjoying the American lifestyle, helping to bring us down to a third world power. We aren't too far from becoming the country that these people left. The American culture can only absorb so many new residents each year without radical changes. We have passed that number. We must act now before the policical leaders offer them amnesty and permanently defeat our way of life. The time has come to stand up and fight for what we believe in. The Constitution will become wastepaper. The Bill of Rights will become a memory. Our flag will become a symbol of defeat.

If you have listened to Rush, you know the truth of his broadcasts. If you haven't listened to him, here's an opportunity for you to show how good FReeper Republicans can be at finding solutions to our nationwide illegal immigration problems.

So tell us, what should be done to fix the problems of illegal immigration in your community?

#1. Should we acquiesce and allow the illegal immigration to continue while waiting for the elected officials to address the problem in a substantive way?

#2. Should we wait for Federal legislators to compromise our security and way of life by resolving the problem in a manner that is politically correct and acceptable to every nation in the world?

#3. If we continue to send snail mail and email letters to your local and State leaders. Will the roar be ever loud enough to be heard in the highest offices? What will their response be? Submition to illegal immigrants who want to change America forever?

#4. Should we wait until you fly off the handle and lash out at an illegal alien, surely resulting in legal problems that will further harm your family and ruin your life's ambition to be a good and loyal American citizen?

#5. Should you ignore the illegal immigration problem and hope it will go away before it gets much worse?

What should YOU do?
What should WE do?

It is time to stand together to correct this problem. You are the leader in your family. Your kids look to you to protect them. If you don't help us now, will your children be able to look at you with pride or shame in five years. It's your freedom and your way of life that is up for grabs.

It's your choice, you decide what to do before it is too late.

.

.

The new way of life

"This is the type of action which Freepers[and computers] have done good. 1. Makin lists. 2. Providing info. 3. Providing sources. 4. Providing legal resources. 5. Submitting data to influential people. 6. Developing 'Talking points'. 7. Developing appropiate 'Key Words'.

This could snow ball if we get behind it and push!"

Unfortunately, we have a snowball's chance in hell of rescinding a decision that was made way back in 1965 and upheld by Dubya Bush today -- an immigration policy specifically designed to flood America with non-Westerners and dilute it and our traditions with that of any OTHER ethnicity or Third Worldism. ANY lack of eventual cultural or alligiance consolidation toward "Americanism" has NOT been any deterent to altering this kind of massive immigration -- BOTH legal and illegal. No, NONE of our legislators will EVER pull the plug...

What seems to be the ONLY reason?...

...Call me a conspiracy nut, but it suits the purpose of the Anti-National Sovereignty, New World Order/One World Government agenda...

It's ALL about power folks, and we have been SOLD OUT.

If there was a $1,000 bounty on each illegal (identified, turned in, and exported; not wanted dead or alive), I think the problem would be solved quite quickly.

$1,000 upfront would save billions over time. Just my two cents.

Your point is right on.

But THEY (they being the powers that be) DON'T WANT TO STOP IT!!! The illegals, that is.

WE have to make them want to stop it, but there aren't enough WE's because the people who have the power don't have to live with it. The people who have the power are totally out of touch with real life in this country!!!

Sorry I am defeatist, but I am. We didn't help the people who deserved help the most and they have fallen through the cracks and lost hope and turned to drugs and crime. Instead of addressing that problem headon, early on, we said the hell with all of you and let everybody and their brother in.

It isn't only illegal immigration. There are two many legals here who have stolen our childrens' heritage and opportunities because we have allowed this to happen.

The decline in the family and morality, fostered the liberals, is the biggest single contributing factor to the ruination of our country. Until that is checked, nothing will work other than creating an illusion that all is well by showing us pictures on tv of our multi-cultural utopia (which is an illusion).

They aren't showing pictures on tv of all the boarded up, empty business shells and homes that are scattered throughout the entire country.

Hey, Tancredo would get my vote in a nano-second...

The trouble is, by the time the media get's through demonizing him, the voters will have a hard time differentiating between he and your average Reichsfuehrer.

I am talking about cleaning out the work force.

I believe they are quietly doing exactly that. Not fast enough, IMHO!

Reports from some FReepers in Florida and other parts, indicate a noticable reduction of foreign faces in some stores and businesses.

California, is the exception, not the norm.

we have allowed this to happen.

We differ greatly on this point.

What happened to personal responsibility!

Do not include me in the blame game and hand wringing self criticism.

Freedom also means freedom to screw up!

Your idea pre-supposes that those in power that would be handing out the $1000 bills WANT to do anything about it.

WE don't need to change...THEY do. Or they need to be changed.

Your proposal to target those who break the law and order illegal aliens is something I've been saying for some time. I propose, that much like American Border Patrol monitors the southern border, another similar group needs to be formed by American citizens who will start monitoring and turning in businesses that hire illegals.

The group could keep a database of businesses who break the law and how the INS and other law enforcement agencies reacted when notified of the crimes. It would keep track of how the business-owners reacted to questions, video-taping, or whatever. It would include video clips of the group's encounters with the worst offenders.

The controversy that this group would generate could be used to get the message out and pressure the Federal Government to start enforcing their immigration and hiring laws again. If done right - and I emphasize that - it could succeed. The trouble is, it would have to be made up of people with NO skeletons in their closets, no neo-nazi or racist friends or whatever, nothing that would be used to change the perceived message of the group from immigration reform to racism.

While part of the problem with illegal immigration is related to the labor markets and American businesses wanting to hire low skilled workers at rates cheaper than those average American workers are willing to accept. Two important issues related to the "big picture" and this aspect of the discussion must be addressed.

First, understanding the problem of labor markets in the US means understanding the interrelationship between, and the interaction of, labor markets with other aspects of the US economy. This understanding is far more complex than suggested in the summary that "all good paying jobs are moving overseas" and America is left with only low paying, low skill jobs. While this may be true for some sectors of industry (particularly with respect to assembly type manufacturing functions), one must take into account American productivity gains and the value of an educated and skilled American workforce. During the 1990s, for example, several foreign car makers from Europe and Japan expanded their manufacturing operations in the US. There are many reasons these companies chose this strategy, including the desire to increase their market share, and to limit their exposure to duties and import fees. However, chief among the reasons these foreign firms moved to the US is because American workers are more productive than their counterparts in Europe or Japan. The point here is that where it comes to manufacturing, the US is not all downside, even though a lot of less-sophisticated manufacturing has moved offshore.

Part of the problem leading to the move of US operations offshore is found in taxation, regulation, and the structure of international trade arrangements. This leads to my second point - that being, the ideas wrapped up in the defeatist attitude, while understandable, do not represent insuperable obstacles to the continued growth and development of the US economy, or to the solution to the problem of illegal immigration. The manufacturing base has left America, and America's successful families (i.e., the one-percent or truly wealthy) are leaving our country because they are being taxed to the point of theft and regulated to the point of harassment. This has become such a problem (i.e., the wealthiest of Americans packing it in for more hospitable climes) that Congress recently enacted legislation to try to discourage people from doing this by making them liable for taxes over ten year period after they have left the country and renounced their citizenship.

America has become inhospitable to the wealthy, to the producers of society, because America is gripped by a form of socialism that comes with it heavy taxation, heavy regulation, disincentives for business, and an anti-business, anti-corporate climate engendered by class politics reminiscent of Marxist orthodoxy. (BTW, I have in the recent past, commented on the state of socialism in America in a post explaining that America's brand of socialism is a.k.a. corporatism.) What makes the problem worse is that politicians use the concept of freedom to conceal their socialist tendencies. The politicians have been so good at concealing socialism in this country by calling it another name, that most Americans, and most people on this forum for that matter, would never even consider our country to be socialist.

This leads to the second issue related to the defeatist attitude expressed by those like Aliska. The defeatist attitude where it comes to illegal immigration stems, in part, from the fact that the problem is multi-dimensional and is rooted in the socialist policies of our government. American socialism stems from the corruption of our political system whereby socialism in our country, while originally an effort solely undertaken by the Democrats, has taken off, as both Democrats and Republicans use their power to muster favor with special interests in the effort to build constituencies and garner votes. It matters little which party individual politicians align themselves, the goal is the same, their re-election and retention of power.

The problem our country faces with respect to illegal immigration is directly related to the advancement of socialism on our shores. Any solution to the illegal immigration problem needs to address the grip that socialism currently has upon our government, economy, and culture.

What can we do?

1) We must recognize what is, and what has been, happening to our country with respect to the rise of socialism in America during the 20th Century.

2) We must vociferously demand tax reduction, reform of the tax system, deregulation, and the restoration of property rights.

3) We must bring an end to the effectiveness of class warfare in politics with the inculcation of the American Dream and the American way of life based on the supremacy of the individual and individual rights, self-reliance, personal responsibility, independence, and freedom.

4) We must advocate adherence to the limitations placed upon government by the Constitution, and we must do so by holding politicians accountable, both in terms of elections and in public relations, when they demonstrate their contempt for the Constitution.

5) We must seek out and elect better leaders by effectively changing the political discourse and taking command of the terms of political debate and the ground upon which political debate occurs.

6) Finally, we must dismantle the welfare state and the government largess of socialism by advocating and promoting the very real and honest truth that alternatives to government exist. We don't need big government, subsidies, tax breaks, and the sanction of the political elite where it comes to addressing the regulation of the market economy and other social problems that make up the bulk of our everyday life experience.

The task before us to preserve and ameliorate our ailing Republic is formidable. And because of the complexity of related issues, the problem of illegal immigration must be addressed by taking a view of the bigger picture as described above. That being said, while understandable in terms of  of its origin, the defeatism expressed by the likes of Aliska must be rejected. America is an idea, and it is an idea steeped in optimism of the sort espoused and bestowed unto us by Ronald Reagan . The American ideals of self-reliance, rugged-individualism, and equal opportunity for all, each sell themselves.

The country is in a quagmire in part because too many people now look to the government for the answers to all their problems, and we are over-regulated (in business and in petty things like smoking, seat belt laws, cell phone use, etc.). Government at all levels in this country make somewhere in the ballpark of 86,000 laws and regulations per year. How much regulation do we need from government? How did we ever make it this far without these regulations? Unfortunately, very few, if any, of these regulations actually addresses a public good - almost every law enacted is done so at the behest of, or to the benefit of, some special interest.

This sad state of affairs can change, and it must change if we are to succeed and thrive as a free nation in an increasingly competitive and hostile world. We must recognize that while the task is great, and the risks associated with failure are high, we can and must make a difference. It's what political movement is all about, and we have the best incentives, motives, and ideas behind us.

God Bless America!

Forget about Tancredo -- YOU get my vote!

Nice agenda you've outlined -- clear, concise, makes all the sense in the world while preserving the Republic the way it ought be preserved...BUT...

The only problem is sovereign America has already given over the reigns to the One Worlders. Yep -- done-deal.

Is there any MORE proof that we've been sold out than the selection and ascendency of Bill Clinton -- BILL CLINTON to run the United States of America?? And for TWO terms.

I rest my case....
