Democratic presidential contender Illinois Senator Barack Obama assailed Republican presidential candidate Arizona Senator John McCain's energy plans as "gimmicks."
Senator McCain wants to fill your tank with gasoline, Obama mocked. I want to fill your heart with hope for a better, cleaner world.
The Illinois senator claimed that high fuel prices have given us a window-of-opportunity to change the way we live. Senator McCain would us throw away this opportunity by taking actions that enable us to continue our addiction to the ways of the pastdriving our cars wherever and whenever we want, cranking up the air conditioning in our homes, depending on electric appliances to do our work, staying up after sundownthis is the unnatural lifestyle we need to put behind us if we care about the fate of the planet.
In related news, Cuba has reportedly made a deal with China to drill for oil off the coast of the Florida Keysexposing American shores to the risk of environmental damage that the U.S. ban on off-shore drilling is meant to prevent. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) insisted this would not change her opposition to allowing U.S. firms to drill in this area. We cant be held responsible for what others do, Pelosi said. Even if there are oil spills from Chinese drilling, our hands will be clean. No one can blame us.

Sigh.........
Yep, I’ve heard Obama say that instead of drilling, he will invest $150 billion in alternative energy. But he doesn’t say where he will get the money for that alt. energy research, nor does he really have a plan to transition away from oil and gasoline. Hydrogen fuel cell cars and windmills and geo-thermal power sounds wonderful, but we honestly don’t know if these technologies can be harnessed to meet our needs. Bottom line is that we’re still going to be running on gas and oil 20 years from now, so in the short term, have to deal with that fact, not our pie in the sky dreams.
Hard to believe these cretins actually said these things.
change = Democrats for 5.00 gas.

Great thread and posts
Thanks for the photo presentation.
I could be wrong, but it seems to me the more Obama makes the argument we should get used to high energy prices and he opposes drilling and nuclear, that these will be seen as a losers argument.
I want to fill your heart with hope for a better, cleaner world.
Told my wife we won’t need any syrup for the stack of buckwheats and buttermilks on the breakfast table tomorrow.
Seriously, based on that vacuous, Candyland statement, what American over the age of 7, would vote for this empty-headed racist ass?
I suspect BHO is either hoping to bring our country down for “worldwide Social Justice”, or he just has “Hope” for a solution. I suspect the first option.
I’m going to go fill up my truck with hope and see if I get to work next week.
Hahaha... excellent.
The really sad thing is that you’ve merely reworded and clarified what he’s said. He’s said America is too comfortable, that we’re too privileged and that we should be put in our place. Most leftists would love to punish Americans by forcing them into living a harsh life.
That’s why the dems want to tax oil, push it out of reach while not seriously pushing realistic energy sources. The democrats have long decried collateral damage in war, yet they’re completely fine with the attrition rate as they push energy prices ever higher. I’m sure the leftists don’t mind their own suffering so long as some of their opposition does - and no matter the truth, they’ll point out the problems and being generated by their political opposition.
The DemonRATs and Obama create crisis to push the United States to Marxism:

“Im going to go fill up my truck with hope and see if I get to work next week.”
Ha!
Better pack a nice pair of walking shoes.
The Regular I burn in my evil SUVs has an octane of 87. “Hope” is around 0.00013.
Barak, you can keep the hope; I'd rather have a tankful of gasoline. Hope won't make my car go.
