To My Fellow Conservatives: The Legal Issue of BHO’s Citizenship is Moot (for now)
Men for Palin Blog ^ | November 29, 2008 | Charles W. Fairbanks

Posted on 11/29/2008 7:34:28 AM PST by Charlie Fairbanks

The time to challenge President-elect Obama’s citizenship has long since passed. Based on long-standing principles of election law, opponents must raise defects in nominating petitions, including the eligibility of the candidate, at the time of the filing of the nominating petition. Petitions were filed in late 2007 and early 2008. There were no legal challenges And not for nothing: Don’t you think that Senator Clinton would have raised this issue in order to keep BHO off the ballot? Citizenship will remain as a political issue, and may return as a legal issue in 2012.

What is the statute of limitations for fraud?

Three years form the time the fraud was known or should have known of the fraud.

Um, you forgot to take off your Obama kneepads when you signed up at FR, n00b. Your constitution must be a bit differently written than the one we revere at FR. Scurry back to your hidey hole, agitprop. We are not going to stop working to show the truth about your little Marxist squirrel. NAd the tagline isn’t much help to hide behind, fool. Your post proves what you actually are.

Just count the number of different court cases there are. Figure out what some typical costs would be for lawyers, discussions and then court appearances, filing papers, etc. Add it up and you can come up with a ball-park figure.

Then the ball-park figure I've come up with is $0 because Obama has not responded to any of these challenges nor has had to defend himself --as of yet. Charges have either been dismissed as frivolous or they are being reviewed on their merits by judges, none of which requires legal representation.

You can file charges against me all you want but until I'm compelled to defend myself in court, I can go about my life without a care in the world and without spending a penny.

Furthermore, Obama spent nothing to have his BC "sealed" in Hawaii. This was brought about to comply with state law.

That’s not true. He responded to all the motions filed by Berg. The response is done by lawyers and they cost money, whether they are paid by the hour or on retainer.

"Don’t you think that Senator Clinton would have raised this issue in order to keep BHO off the ballot?"

LOL! So that makes him legit! That is the worst damn logic I have ever heard regardless of the issue.

You know, the problem here, from what I see, is the cooperation from the people, in those various steps along the way, to ignore the issue and just move forward in their own particular part in this — and affirm Obama.

So, in other words, all of what you say may be right for stopping Obama at those various steps — but at each step of the way, the “cooperation” is to “give Obama a pass” and let him go right into office.

That is what is happening...

It would seem that an outside court case that goes all the way up to the Supreme Court is the only way to do it — and I *also doubt* if the Supreme Court will do anything about it...

The problem should have been taken care of *before* the election. I fear it is too late now, just from the way many people are acting.

And another fecal floater! ... Sorry, fool, threatening what cousin Ralia used in Kenya to gain powersharing isn’t going to work here. But you are commended by your asshat Marxist Squirrel for trying to flaot the threat. Now slink back under your manure pile, fool.

Sheeez, this must be making the manchurian backers nervous

Don't kid yourself. They must love watching this big-time kookery in regards to the whole birth certificate and Michelle Obama tape BS. It serves only to marginalize and write off as fringe certain elements within the conservative movement that push this stuff; just like it did with the left and their 9/11 truth/war for oil/Cheney is really the president and all that other garbage conspiracy stuff they've spouted for the past eight years.

"By law, can the electors cast votes for candidates who are not eligible? I don't think so."

It depends on the restrictions put on their actions by the STATES they represent. There is no one straight-jacket they fit into. Some states electors can vote for anyone they please if the candidate they were "pledged to" is disqualified.

LOL..., I guess you don’t know lawyers, then... :-)

They charge for giving advice, for making phone calls, for monitoring a situation so it doesn’t get out of control, for receiving court papers, for filing court papers, etc. Heck, those guys can never step inside of a courtroom and you can get a big bill from them.... I guess you just don’t know that, do you...

But, there have been responses from both the Obamites (i.e., the Obama campaign) and from the Democrat party (on behalf of the campaign), officially, by lawyers. I’ve read about them, here on Free Republic.

I guess I won’t be asking you for “estimating figures” on any other subject. I’m afraid the results would be so far off as to be useless.... LOL...

Those lawyers are innovative when it comes to billing, that’s for sure. I’m sure that you can find double-billing in there, too, if you account for the lawyer’s time — but he would say he was thinking about two cases at the same time, and had to bill for each one... LOL...

You mean Howes?
Do you think they are in the same class as a constitutional (Harvard) scholar like Alan Keyes?

So the President-Elect retains legal advisors? These advisors receive a salary? This is earth-shattering news?

I'm still waiting for a reputable source that Obama has spent so many hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep his birth certificate sealed. Something that Hawaiian state law does for free.

I'm guessing that you don't have one.
