The Next Boston Tea Party
American Daily Review and American Thinker ^ | 02/11/2009 | joshua P Allem

If the entire nation was moving toward socialism, there would be no Boston Tea Party 2.0 on our horizon. But the entire nation isn't moving toward socialism, only our government leadership and the puppets in Hollywood have embraced it with their own version of paganism. The soul of this country is not dead. It has been critically watching and wondering what, when and where the government would finally go so far that the only natural response of it's citizens would be some form of revolt. HR45 was introduced to Congress, an incredibly radical bill forcing all guns in the entire United States to be registered with the government by their owner.

I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing...

Thanks for that, Andy.

A moral people will always fight back against transgressions against their God-given rights and freedoms.

Certainly it would be easy to file extensions and jack up W-4 exemptions the second half of the first year.

For many, that is the exact strategy.

In fact, the pressure that increased taxation (to fund the Trillion Dollar Porkulus Bill) will put on ordinary Americans, virtually assures this reaction among taxpayers.

Here’s a simple notion: Publicize the reality that it is not required to file 1099s on the subcontractors that work for your business, if they are corporations and not individuals.

Then, let those small businesses consider how much of the unreported revenue they think is appropriate to pay taxes on.

I also like the idea of all conservatives minimizing their withholding, getting filing extensions, and paying their taxes as late as possible, since the interest rates are so low. Someone should publicize how to do this in compliance with current tax laws, and not incurring penalties.

I've been advocating a nationwide tax revolt on FR for months now.

YES this is the only answer. We have to starve the beast. Refuse to participate in this SHAM of a government. That is the only message they will hear loud and clear.

Like the Boston colonists of the 1700's, many of us have finally realized that we have effectively been shut out of the political process, and that we have to take things to another level in order to be heard by our government.

I wish that protest marches and letters to our elected reps were the answer, but I have little faith in that.

Letters, emails, calls and faxes to congressional offices about the Trillion Dollar Porkulus bill ran 100 to 1 against, but our congress rammed this treason through anyway, so no, we have no real representation in Washington.

They're simply not listening to the American people any longer, and will do whatever they want, despite our protestations.

We now have an oligarchy - not a constitutional republic. That is the truth of it. We need to react accordingly, if we wish to save our country.

Failure to Pay Penalty

The failure-to-pay penalty is calculated based on the amount of tax you owe. The penalty is 0.5% for each month the tax is not paid in full. There is no maximum limit to the failure-to-pay penalty. The penalty is calculated from the original payment deadline (the original April 15th filing deadline) until the balance due is paid in full.

There appears to be a hole in this reasoning. It appears as though the penalty is based on a 90%+ compliance rate.

My meaning: "No BIG deal, we'll just sting this taxpayer enough to remind him/her."

I'll run through it.

You owe $100. $100.00 x 0.5% = $100.00 x .005 = $0.50 per month.

So, for every hundred dollars you haven't paid, you owe 50 cents per month till you pay it. Lousy interest, BTW. 12 months x .50 = $6.00 per year. 100 bucks @ 5% simple annual interest = $5.00. So, you're out a buck for effing with tax collections.

However, IRS compounds daily, I believe - still no big deal.

You know, posting this, I can't believe I've never seen this before. Is everybody in bed with the Tax Cheats that rule us with an iron fist? I mean, this is a simple software program - "Contributions Towards Taking Back Your Government".

OK - you owe $700.00. For a contribution of $3.50 a month (or thereabouts), you can mess with the revenue collection of the Tax Cheats for some whiles. Not illegal, just tardy. 6 months of messing costs you $20-25 (maybe an hour or two worth of work).

Now, for the hole in their reasoning. Multiply yourself times several hundred thousand. $700.00 x 400,000 = $280,000,000, or north of a quarter of a billion.

Meanwhile, for one month, $3.50 x 400,000 only gets The Sheriff of Nottingham $1,400,000 - 1/1000th of a billion, while the cost to the rebellious serfs is the equivalent of adding the HBO channel to their cable bill.

Hey! Quit exaggerating! Just because The Founders had 20,000 people per US Representative, and we now have 600,000+ people per US Representative, doesn't mean that we've been "effectively been shut out of the political process".

After we add the illegal immigrants and it goes up to 700,000 people per US Representative- THEN we'll be shut out of the political process.

Really. ;-)

At lunch today we were discussing what we could do about the out of control spending and taxes.

Why not get several credit cards from the banks getting the bailouts with YOUR money and pay your state/federal income taxes with the cards or the credit card checks they like to send you in the mail?

Make the minimum monthly payments until all the taxes paid with them eat up the entire credit limit, then stop paying. Maybe they will send you to a collection agency, pay it off with pennies on the dollar or maybe declare bankruptcy.

The banks can’t come after you quite like the government can.

Screw’em all ....

How about an ARMED march on Washington DC on July 4th.

Would you participate in this with the full knowledge that you would be arrested or killed, just for walking down an American street with a tool over my shoulder? It's a hell of a question to have to ask one's self.

Everyone must make a personal decision and stick to it: What is my line in the sand? New "Fairness" doctrine? Ongoing perks and offices of power for the criminals who ruined the economy? Taxing your children into serfdom before they're even born? Gun confiscation? Eminent domain applied to your home? Legalizing the illegal alien invaders? Your federal taxes paying for domestic and foreign abortions?

Whatever it is, make sure you *know* what your line is, and what you are willing to do when they step over it. Because they *will*, and will continue to do so, until they are pushed back via the promise (or proof, if they are really emboldened) of *merciless* force of arms.

This is our country, not theirs. They can go live and France or Belgium or Cuba and have the sort of government they want to impose on us. This is only place on earth free men have, and I for one count that blessing from God as something worth dying for.

Am I advocating violence? Absolutely not.

Am I advocating having the full mental and logistical capacity to respond to tyranny and its threat of violence with overwhelming counter-force? Absolutely, and without hesitation.

Even at 600,000 constituents per representative, it's still possible to survey the needs and wants of those being represented.

It's just too simple for any rep to engage their constituents via their gov't website, using interactive polls and such, to gauge their considerations and wishes.

Sending out a bi-monthly email update to all constituents who sign up is another simple way to maintain good communication with the public.

There just is no excuse for what our so-called representatives are doing at this moment, given that the public has literally burned up the DC phone lines protesting the Porkulus bill.

If Congress is brazen enough to ignore the public on so large and important an issue as this, and with the calls coming in at 100 to 1 against, do we really think they'll listen to us on anything else?

As another poster commented, we do need another Boston Tea Party, but this time we need to throw Congress in the harbor instead of the tea.
