What about the LEO's ?

We've heard about many people that have lost everything because of the "economic meltdown", but they've all been general citizen types, the rich, the middle and others .. but ...

What about law enforcement?

OK, ok .. I have my tin foil on ... and I've never needed meds .. so .. chew on this.

We all know the coup has been successful, and that there is more to come.

And we all have been, and will continue to discuss what to do and where do we go from here.

And there IS that nagging, underlieing feeling that there may just BE a citizen's revolt of some kind.

Now if all this is correct, the gendarmes will have to be called in to squelch us rebels ... right?

What financial protection do the LEO's have for THEIR retirement?

I'm 61, and I've always been led to believe that MY SS wouldn't be touched .. it was all you younger folks ... but I'm not so sure now.

OK, so ... if there IS a rebellion ... what would motivate the cops to actually arrest us, or shoot us, or whatever?

Aren't they in the same boat?

Every should start claiming 9 on line 5 of your W-4s to greatly slow down the federal income from our taxes.

So what you are saying is that you thought you would get your money, but you knew that those younger then you weren't.

Now you are concerned that you will not get yours.

Let me be the first to say:

Bite me old man! You knew you were steeling from your grand-children. Now you realize that your parents stole from you and have the nerve to act angry/upset?

The cops are just as broke as anybody. But old habits die hard. They will bust heads.

Generally speaking, the powers to be will try to protect LEO/Military for obvious reasons.
However, the US has people in those ranks that for the most part, I think, are truly loyal to principles beyond the ‘masters’ commands.
That said, it may be a split at the end.
I lived where LEO/Military was struggling and mostly elected to support the leftist leadership, and is not pretty.
May we see something worthy of the USA and not of a third world country, because, that, is not something I want to go back to...

If the trouble is in zip code XXXXX then only fleas & leo’s will get paid in that zip code. Simple enough. Comply or starve is their method I suspect.

I’d say they’re in the same boat. All our local cops just lost their jobs so we can rely on the county cops to get here eventually.

I don’t think you should recommend this to people without telling them that it could cost them a lot of money in penalties and interest. If you do not have enough money withheld, they can and will assess a hefty financial penalty.

Cops and FLEAs have homes, families, and neighbors, too.

No one is completely anonymous.

The next war is going to be fought in driveways, backyards, movie theatres, parking lots, ice cream parlors, etc....

"I'm 61, and I've always been led to believe that MY SS wouldn't be touched."

What made you think that was true? At sixty one you have been around the block at least twice.

Politicians are habitual liars. Certainly you have figured that out by now.

>> They will bust heads.

and when they bust the old guy’s head for disobeying, YOU will pay for their medicare, whippersnapper!

You lose. We old farts simply outnumber you, and we all vote. There’s nothing you can do until we all die, and then we don’t care.

Anyway, who are you calling old? 61 is the new 40.

CA state retirement is among the root causes of that state’s fiscal problems. Many states lump city, county and state employees into a central retirement fund and manage future debt fueled by current inputs. In turn, these are managed like everyone else’s - with MM funds, bonds and the like. IOW, coppers are similar to other people in that they are getting hit, too. Big difference is that many of them have exceptional benefits and perks while working - at least in comparison to their private sector counterparts.

That's a bit heavy handed and out of line. Old men sacrificed a great deal for your freedom. Visit Arlington Cemetery sometime.

Uh, well, even if you meant ‘stealing’ you are still off-base.

But what do I know, I am an old man by your standards!!!

Educate thyself, then post.

Study what they did in Louisiana after Katrina.

It was modeled after what the Chinese do with the PLA.

They brought in LEOs from other parts of the country; while a local LEO might have qualms about disarming his neighbor, a LEO from elsewhere who would tend to disarm citizens (and I am not saying that all LEOs feel this way!) is more likely to do so without compunction under these circumstances.
