Watching this video contrasting the reception given by Marines to George Bush with that given to Barack Obama is a gift that just keeps on giving:
Watch the short Youtube video.
Reading the comments on Atlas Shrugs was kind of fun, too.
I got a tear in my eye seeing the jubilant, heartfelt outpouring of love and support the Marines had for the President who put them into harm's way. They believed in their President, and they believed in the mission he sent them to accomplish.
And I got a pain in my side laughing at the contrast in response when Barack Obama visited Marines. If you listen real hard, you can hear the crickets chirping.
Obama may as well have been appearing in a silent movie compared to the outburst given to Bush.
I was laughing hard enough at the excruciatingly polite reception the Marines gave to Obama before the video footage cut to the CNN reporter who said:
"Uh,the President's Iraq speech at Camp Lejeune. And many may, uh, take note of the mostly - you would have to say - tepid response."I wrote a predictive article back in October. I'm glad I was right.
May God bless and protect our troops. They are our magnificent warriors - and we should be so proud of our men and women who have chosen to put on the uniform in time of war and sacrifice.
It turns out that, besides being heroic, they aint stupid, either.
Oooooo now that was COLD. You know the measure of a man when he walks next to real warriors and how they treat him. Obama doesn’t deserve to even be in the room with the Military.
beautiful
As much as the Marines liked Bush it still didn’t compare to how they loved Reagan. President Reagan is the only President whom the Marines would hold a salute even when they were saluting his back. They tolerate Obama. They respected Bush. But they loved Reagan.
exceptional post. Thank you.
BO must have been p@ssed at that big time!
Thank you for posting. As the commentator said...a “tepid” response for Obama vs the raucous crowd for Bush.
I found the silence during the Obama wecome to be more than a lil disappointing;
Where were the boo-birds?
My parents have Reagan’s picture in our dining room right next to the Ten Commandments. My dad was a Marine and met President Reagan after he was wounded at the Beirut barracks in 1983 and President Reagan even called him a few times to check on him after that. He was really special.
Chris,
As a fellow soldier myself, I can only tell you that booing your commander in chief - no matter how much you hate his guts - isn’t an option. He’s in the chain of command, and “free speech” isn’t a universal right for the armed forces.
But it WOULD have been nice to hear a chorus of raspberries!!!
Bookmarked.
Thanks for the post! Almost feel sorry for Zero. Almost. Well, not really at all.
And as great as Ronnie was at the time of his presidency, he has grown even greater.
Particularly when you consider the contrast with the present company.
It really saddens me to think that Obama sits in the same office President Reagan gave honor to.
I know I would have done it....regardless of what the price I had to pay would have been.
I’m sure the active duty Marines will treat Obama with the same courtesy and respect that I was obligated to show to Clinton.
fyi
Fantastic — I have forwarded that to everyone I could think of.
Thanks for posting it up!
>I found the silence during the Obama wecome to be more than a lil disappointing;
>Where were the boo-birds?
Agreed. He should be booed simply for his failure-assertion that he would have a “ethically superior” administration than previously at DC... and then he goes and appoints the same shits that have always been floating around DC. {It will be funny when history shows that Bill Richardson was the least corrupt of Obama’s nominees.}
My Marine neighbor’s Father has a bumper sticker that says:
Marines die so you don’t have to
Pray for America, Our Troops and obama’s continued Failure
I watched a History Channel program on Air Force One before the election. It was incredible how great the lengths and widths and depths were for the POTUS.
And I remember asking myself, "What the hell has Obama done to deserve that kind of loyalty or devoted service from anyone?
The thought still makes me nauseas.
Me, too. You should read that article I wrote to describe how I felt about the thought of serving under Barry Hussein.

Thanks for posting it up!
You're very much welcome. And thank YOU for showing that video to everyone on your email list. That is exactly what we need.
If we want to have a country, we're going to need to discredit Obama on the areas of defense and the economy. Otherwise he'll continue to be able to do more and more and worse and worse to destroy this country.
Nice video.
Thank you for this post! Thank you GWB, and most importantly, thank you all that serve. I pray you recognize this country when you return.
Thanks for posting this!
That was excellent - thanks for posting.
I actually had it sent to me by a reader at my blog who goes by HL. Most of the stuff she directs my attention to is pretty good - this one was golden.
I love going from tears to jeers - and then having that CNN reporter make an ice cream sundae out of it at the end.
As someone else noted: when it comes to the Commander-in-Chief, there is no such thing as “freedom of speech” for the military. That is as it should be.
Yet, there are ways that one’s opinion can still be “voiced”.
This is one of those ways: the silence was deafening....
May God grant us the strength to face what lies ahead.
Is it entirely possible...that I can be grinning any wider over the difference between a real CiC...and the poser that occupies the office now?
Where were the boo-birds?
Threatened with the brig ....
instead of just one.
I FORGOT that!
Dang, I saw that too.
Good catch. Just one of a trillion lies the media have told to reveal their blatant corruption, bias, and dishonesty.
The only thing that can match liberal spending by Obama is lies by the propagandistic media trying to cover up for him.
This video is depressing. Can someone tell me what the bloody blank is going on????? Please tell me that this is all a bad dream./Just Asking - seoul62.......
LOL!
This has got to be one of the most beautiful videos I’ve ever seen.
God bless our Armed Forces, and God**** Zero.

That Marine is holding the salute long after the President passed by. It looks like he is saluting President Bush’s back.
BTTT!!!!
Thank you very much for the post.
I'm glad that so many people are receiving this video the same way I did when I saw it.
There's hope yet.
Uh,the President's Iraq speech at Camp Lejeune. And many may, uh, take note of the mostly - you would have to say - tepid response.
Notice that only the BIG brass clapped when the sneaky little bitch, Obama, swished up to the stage.
bump

You're overly kind. He doesn't rate even being on the same planet...
the infowarrior
Since its his own attitudes which cause the counter attitudes, he can live with it and like, live with it, and not like it, but if he absolutely, positively, can't live with it, well, he knows where the effing door to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington DC is, and shouldn't let it hit him on the keister on his way back to Chicago...
the infowarrior
Notice, as well, that even that was merely perfunctorily polite, never enthusiastic...
the infowarrior
I was always amused at the stories of soldiers having to attend mandatory sexual harassment training in rooms with pictures of the Commander in Chief (Clinton) on the wall.
When Obama walked into the room, I thought it must be protocol to hold applause. Then I saw the brass applauding (with no enthusiasm) and realized that everyone else was deliberately withholding their applause. That speaks volumes.
