Are Beck's Sponsors Really Backing Out? (VANITY)

Posted on 08/11/2009 7:45:36 PM PDT by Tzimisce

I hate Vanities - but is this true? Did Beck really lose Geico, Men's Warehouse, etc?

I thought he had a popular show - it would surprise me if it were true...

I guess I may call my insurance company in the morning to see what their agenda is.

I had read, earlier, that he lost ‘Progressive’ (no big surprise, there) and Proctor&Gamble......but they weren’t removing their entire ads from FOX....just HIS shows. Could be wrong.

Rumors on the Lefty blogs. They’re crowing about the “success” that they’re having.

Of course, it’s lefty blogs meaning that it could be all fake...

Big loss. The guy who started Progressive is another George Soros. And there commercials are so annoying.

If you get any info about other sponsors that we should contact, please ping me. Thanks.

Democrats.com was TRYING to instigate a political hit boycott on Fox News and Beck in particular.

Not sure if any actually dropped.

They may be trying to get Republicans to boycott.

But it comes from Democrats.com there are other FR threads yesterday about the boycott (and how it may have come from Obama’s White House).

I admit I don’t watch his show, but Beck has one of the top-rated shows on cable, doesn’t he? Why would sponsors pull out from advertising?

If they do, other companies will be happy to catch those eyeballs.

He's a hard hitter and it's no surprise the more liberal and corporate Nazis would back out they know that freedom gets in their way of tyranny...

Why compete in a market when Obama is promising you that you will eventually be out of a job ....

Beck’s consistently high ratings will ensure that he doesn’t suffer from a lack of sponsorship. As leftist sponsors leave, they’ll be replaced with other sponsors that either choose not to profess a political leaning or are more in line with Beck’s values.

It’ll all work out.

I don’t know about the Buffett/Geico connection, but I have a friend that works in the insurance claims biz and she says that Geico is the absolute worst company to have to deal with. When I told her I was going to be shopping for better rates, that was the first thing that flew out of her mouth.

If you have Geico, please switch policies before you have to file a claim. If you’ve even considered checking Geico out, please move on to another company to get a rate quote.

And I guess Flo from Progressive won’t be hearing from any FReepers any time soon, huh?

Buffett has owned GEICO for a very long time, perhaps 20 or more years. (GEICO cust since 1986, whenever I speak to them I ask them to give my regards to Mr. B. They’ve always known what I meant)

Yeah it is one of his companies.
http://www.nytimes.com/1995/08/26/business/buffett-moves-to-acquire-all-of-geico.html

Warren E. Buffett is returning his focus to one of his earliest successes. Berkshire Hathaway Inc., which he controls, announced a $2.3 billion cash offer yesterday to buy the 49 percent of the Geico Corporation it does not already own.

It seems a boycott of the companies that have pulled out is in order. If you are a capitalist that is going to side with leftists, you need to pay the price. The lefties won't keep you in business, unless they are awash in government payola.

Thank you both very much for your input. My family’s been there forever and have never really considered changing until I heard Buffett owned it. I think liberals own everything.

I don’t have a link, but earlier this morning there was a thread that a black organization of some sorts was responsible for inundating Becks sponsors with calls of racism, and to pull their ads from his program.

Apparently Beck had said something on his program that the always looking to be offended types were offended by.
