Media Bias at its finest (NY TIMES)
Billy Kess

Posted on 09/12/2009 8:12:55 PM PDT by BillyKess

Something I know you all already know - the NY TIMES is bias. Just another example... pathetic.

Classic media bias right here

This is classic. As ABC News reports that the number of protesters who rallied in Washington DC against Obama's spending policies (among countless other things) was somewhere around the 2 million mark (800,000 more than those at the inauguration), the New York Times does its best to play that down.

Lets' take a look at the online headlines alone...

Thousands Rally in Capitol to Protest Big Government http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/13/us/politics/13protestweb.html

Oh? Notice the name Obama isn't in the headline. Nor is what really should be said "tens of thousands". Not merely "thousands".

And then their other headline...

Thousands Rally in Minnesota Behind Obama’s Call for Health Care Overhaul http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/13/health/policy/13obama.html

Yeah... as if the massive protest that took place today in Washington DC and the mere 15,000 who showed up to support Obama in Minnesota are equal.

Also, take note that the article itself does not mention the estimated number of protesters in Washington - and like it or not folks, it's a pretty significant thing when there were more protesters there today than there were Obamabots at the inauguration! This was a big deal. This was a protest of significant proportion and the NY Times plays it off like just another rally. Not to mention several times in the article it characterizes the protesters as "angry" people yelling "profanity".

Sorry. But you want to see profanity, go attend a gay pride parade.
Leave it to the New York Times!

And this is only the beginning. We're going to see a lot more of the mainstream media playing down the numbers and demonizing the protesters in the days to come.

BK,

There is no BIAS at the NYTs or MSM.

They are marketing firms for the DNC. People confuse the MSM “advocating for their client” as “BIAS”.

Not their fault completely as the NYTs/MSM fraudulently pose as legitimate journalism outfits to lend credibility to their ad copy.

Biased. Bias is a noun; biased is the verb form of bias.

Grammar police out.

Yeah, it jumped out at me too. However, that one could reasonably be a typo, no?

Yes the Times is biased, and often incredibly left-leaning, but i thought the tea-party article was pretty good. It didn’t make everyone out to be angry and profane. It was clear in communicating most people were there in good spirits, singing patriotic songs and waving american flags. Peaceably demonstrating for Liberty. As for the estimated number of attendees, no one knows for sure, not even conservatives agree on the number. I was there for the inauguration and there is simply no way as many people showed up for the tea party.

It happens too consistently for me to believe that those who write bias instead of biased believe they’re misusing the word. They think it’s correct, just like people who use “it’s” instead of “its,” or generally mix up pluralization (adding s to the end of a word) with possession (adding ‘s to the end of a word.)

I know this is the Interwebs and no one can type worth a damn, but still.

IF THE NY TIMES REFUSES TO OPEN THEIR EYES TO HISTORY IN THE MAKING. HISTORY SHALL REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE NY TIMES AFTER THEY’RE GONE.

Yes. it was a typo. I do have a good understanding of grammar. I just need to get into the habit of proof-reading.

I do use spell check (I usually put things on my own blog and then paste it here), but the word was spelled correctly, so - until they invent an advanced spell-check that can find errors like that, we’re going to make them.

I’m just a pajama blogger. I’m not one of those intellects who write for, say, The New York Times. :)

Nothing I saw even came close to the amount of people at Obamas inauguration. Where did you get that from.
