Proposed Manhattan mosque should be a national shame
The Kansas City Star ^ | September 10, 2010 | Glen Enloe

Posted on 09/11/2010 12:49:17 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

There once was a time in America that if we were attacked we would pick ourselves up, roll up our sleeves, rebuild and defeat our enemies. Now we whimper, point fingers, play politics and weakly wag our tongues.

Only in America would the absurdity of allowing a 13-story community center containing a Muslim mosque to be constructed near ground zero even be considered. Again, America’s inherent goodness is taken advantage of as we are kicked in the groin. Stunningly, we will apparently allow this reminder of those who perpetrated the 9/11 attacks to be constructed. The irony and insensitivity is staggering.

The proposal — which some view as a “victory” mosque, and reportedly costing more than $100 million — was originally named after Cordoba, a Spanish city conquered by Muslims in the 8th century.

“Cordoba House” (now Park 51) was conceived by the American Society for Muslim Advancement and the Cordoba Institute. Cordoba’s director, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, has said little about the mosque’s funding. In the past he suggested that America shares blame for 9/11 and that we should “understand” the terrorists’ point of view.

To allow this spit-in-the-face mosque near where almost 3,000 people died is laughable to extremist Muslims, embarrassing to many moderate Muslims and shameful for many Americans. It is akin to dancing on the graves of the dead. Also, since that dark time nine years ago, it has increasingly become a national disgrace that we repress film footage from 9/11. CBS has even refused to air a TV commercial with 9/11 images that opposes the mosque project.

Governments cannot and should not distort history. The events of Sept. 11, 2001, did happen and won’t go away however much some try to obscure, rewrite or deny it.(continued)

The irony and insensitivity is staggering.

Irony is actually our problem. I work with teenagers, and have seen the generations that followed mine grow up in an age where irony reigns.

"Sincerity" is foolish. Patriotism is falling for that paternalistic old-fashioned bull your parents fell for.

The folks who push this push the ridiculous idea that the height of morality is to "not be judgemental."

Do not judge. What the hell does that mean? It means whatever those pushing it want it to mean, because they will stare at you with hate if you mention your beliefs that don't fit into their PC socialist worldview. THAT isn't judging, though, THAT is speaking truth to power.

We are raising people to think the only evil is to say someone or something is evil. Having a set of standards one lives by that doesn't conform to the accepted norm shows you've fallen for the lie and are just a puppet. So say the puppets of collectivism.

Treat everything not as the rainbow of truly different ideas they claim to want--odd how their idea of diversity is literally skin-deep, black, white, yellow, brown, doesn't matter--as long as you're pink underneath. But have a black, Asian, Hispanic person who believes in, say, duty to the greatest free nation ever conceived?

Robot. Self-hater. Conformist.

Irony will free us from all of this, they tell us. The mosque? What, you think that is a step towards conquest? You're crazy--look at you, taking this stuff all SERIOUSLY! Chill out, don't judge, and everyone will just hang out and love each other. Then we can put away the guns and everyone'll just LOVEeach other...

This way lies the death of our society.

How true. I can't sleep because I am sitting here thinking of people I knew who died in those towers. Remembering going to the Twin Lighthouses in the Highlands here in NJ. Listening to people there trying to call their loved ones & watching the towers burn. Wondering if something will happen today & praying it won't. I talked with my sons who were in high school that day & asked them both what they thought. Both said they don't understand why 9-11 isn't a day of national mourning. I agree with them.

Fine i agree with this muzzie bastard. I am sure he, the worlds entire muslim population and also the rest of the world will then also fully understand it when we drop a dozen small thermonuclear devices on the holiest of muslim cities across the planet. They will also understand when we eliminate every last of of the follows of this evil vile dirty religion. I would say only then will be even close to even.

I Still suggest that somebody in new york city with some pull simply dump 10,000 gallons of pig fat at the site of this so called community center and contaminate the ground so they are not able to use it.

>> Do not judge. What the hell does that mean?

A simple, but fundamentally important question.

The Left uses ordinary language to derail its opposition.

It ultimately exerts a greater force of hostility on the community, but avoids the consequences simply by its redefinition of common sense.

I sure don’t appreciate Barry’s buddy Rauf making threats to Americans about what is going to happen if we don’t allow the raggies build their victory “mosque” at Ground Zero. At one time, Americans would never have allowed this bull**** to happen in our country. Rauf’s ass would be on a slowboat back to the middle east.

Exceptional. A cowboy poet sees with complete clarity what the “experts” in Washington cannot even begin to bring into focus. Makes me proud to be from Cowtown.

which some view as a “victory” mosque,

If I had  any photoshop skills I would put a large " Mission Accomplished " banner across a picture of the Manhattan Islamic Victory Center

" In Islam, every structure linked to the faith and its rituals has a precise function and character.
A mosque is a one-story gallery built around an atrium with a mihrab (a niche pointing to Mecca)
and one, or in the case of Shiites two, minarets.
This 13-story multifunctional structure couldn't be any of the above.
The groups fighting for the project know this; this is why they sometimes call it an Islamic cultural center.
But there is no such thing as an Islamic culture.
The Prophet imposed his rule on parts of Arabia through a series of ghazvas, or razzias (the origin of the English word "raid").

The ghazva was designed to terrorize the infidels, convince them that their civilization was doomed and force them to submit
to Islamic rule. Those who participated in the ghazva were known as the ghazis, or raiders.
After each ghazva, the Prophet ordered the creation of a rabat -- or a point of contact at the heart of the infidel territory raided.
The rabat consisted of an area for prayer, a section for the raiders to eat and rest and facilities to train and prepare
for future razzias. Later Muslim rulers used the tactic of ghazva to conquer territory in the Persian and Byzantine empires.
After each raid, they built a rabat to prepare for the next razzia.

It is no coincidence that Islamists routinely use the term ghazva to describe the 9/11 attacks against New York and Washington.
The terrorists who carried out the attack are referred to as ghazis or shahids (martyrs).
Thus, building a rabat close to Ground Zero would be in accordance with a tradition started by the Prophet.
To all those who believe and hope that the 9/11 ghazva would lead to the destruction of the American "Great Satan,"
this would be of great symbolic value."

We American are stupid beyond belief. How quickly we forget. Everything even the horrible and very bloody lessons of WW II . . .

Two of most bloodthirsty dictators of the Second World War are pictured chatting as gentlemen over a cup of tea. The Grand Mufti, Haj Muhammed Amin al-Husseini and Adolf Hitler.

The Mufti was one of the initiators of the systematic extermination of European Jewry and had been a collaborator and adviser of Eichmann and Himmler in the execution of this plan. ... He was one of Eichmann's best friends and had constantly incited him to accelerate the extermination measures. I heard him say, accompanied by Eichmann, he had visited incognito the gas chamber of Auschwitz.

NYC liberals, and a whore named Bloomberg (who has a billion dollars invested in Saudi communications) caused this.

Bloomberg ought to be run out of NYC by the Jewish community. He is ignorant of history and a disgrace to America:

Regaig the Grand Mufti: Haj Amin al-Husseini eventually died in exile in 1974. He never returned to Jerusalem after his 1937 departure. His place as leader of the radical, nationalist Palestinian Arabs was taken by his nephew Mohammed Abdel-Raouf Arafat As Qudwa al-Hussaeini, better known as Yasser Arafat.

In August 2002, Arafat gave an interview in which he referred to "our hero al-Husseini" as a symbol of Palestinian Arab resistance.
