I could definitely go with Sarah Palin.

I think she would be an improvement from where Bush was. The Left hates her even more than Bush, which is a good indicator that she would be better than Bush.

I despise the Left so much that having President Palin (I like the sound of that) for 8 years and watching them suffer would be a sweet sweet thing and good enough reason to back her.

If I could have Palin yet passed on Palin...?
That would be crazy!

Hey guys (this is to everyone kinda), I held my nose and voted for McCain ONLY so I could vote for Palin. While I like Palin, I just wanted to get some ideas. Personally, I don’t believe that she can win a Presidential election. I think since the MSM has been running hit pieces on her over and over, she may not be electable. For obvious reasons, no liberal will vote for her, but I think a lot of conservatives are wishy washy on her now too. I think she would make a fair president (I haven’t seen one that I would consider “Good” like a washington or Jefferson yet, so I say “fair”), but I think a lot of others could do as good a job, too.

I’m not knocking Mrs. Palin, but, that having been said, can anyone help me form a persuasive argument for conservatives and independents who are borderline? I think if Palin were the nominee, she’d get maybe 35% of the vote, and 45-50% or so would be against her (for the Dem), and 10-15% may just sit out, which I would hate to happen. Again, like I said, I would vote for her as nominee if she;s on the ticket, but (anecdotally), I’d say at least 1/3 of the conservatives (or “conservative leaning Republicans” I guess, as I’m an independent too) I know wouldn’t. There are a lot of Ron Paul fans in this area (who will push for him here), but will vote straight Republican on a ticket, but there are a lot who won’t, and that’s just my state.

Any thoughts would be helpful. I’ve kinda drifted off topic, but I’m just looking for info that could be persuasive for Mrs. Palin as a candidate who can win this, and be the right person. I’m convinced, but there are several million who are not. Thanks for the help in advance.

P.S. (I guess ultimately it may have to wait till we see who IS the nominee, but it’s good to get a head start!)

There is a point to be made about Bush that the Left and their media were so over-the-top in attacking Bush, that they actually ended up helping him.

I don’t think it helped him at all. Too often ppl on our side underestimate the power of the MSM esp ppl like Rush, Hannity and O’reily. The MSM make news everyday and set narrative, while Rush/Hannity and O’reily are constantly reactive to news. Despite Foxnews being no.1 cable. They still have less audience than all left wing cable channels combined

I voted "no way". The day she left her job as governor before the completing her term, she became unqualified in my opinion to be a president; I don't want a president who will quit half way.

That is my opinion....flame away.

Maybe you forget that Karl Rove and others scored points against the left by calling them “wild-eyed”.

The day in 1940 that Churchill left France before defeating Germany, he became unqualified in my opinion to be Prime Minister. I don't want a Prime Minister who will quit halfway.

Oh, wait. My bad. It turns out that Churchill was the most tenacious enemy of evil imaginable. But in 1940 there was simply no more good he could do in France.

70 years later: Sarah Palin comes under dozens of trumped-up ethics charges that are bankrupting her AND preventing her from doing her job.

She puts in a solid replacement, retreats from her isolated position and starts an epic world-wide campaign against the foe. Her nominations - made as a private citizen! - turn the tide of the 2010 elections.

History repeats itself.

You know what they say about getting out of the way while someone is making a fool of themselves, so why bother flaming you when you did it to yourself?

Thank heavens she she.

Sure she could have stuck it out bankrupting her family against the concerted efforts of the Democrats in drowning her with frivolous lawsuits—but THAT would have been the stupidest thing ever.
I suppose you want a stupid president.
Instead she cut her loses and thus was freed to help spearhead the Tea Party miracle of 11/2/10.
Smartest political move of the 21st Century.
(Nobody would have even HEARD of my new Tea Party Gov Nikki Haley if not for Sarah Palin.
Thank God she quit!
Of course you are probably the type to just ape the Dem and Rino talking point about “being a quitter” and nothing else.
PDS does that to people-one line disingenuos zingers invulnerable to reason.
Moses quit the Egyptian Royal family to follow God.
You calling HIM a quitter?
Reagan quit the Democrat Party to become a Republican.
You calling HIM a quitter?
Thank God they ALL quit!

No. We need to win the independent vote to win the presidency. She cannot win that vote.
