Ann Coulter not on board Donald Trump's birther crusade
The Daily Caller ^ | April 12, 2011 | Jeff Poor

Posted on 04/12/2011 8:08:58 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Some conservative commentators have applauded Donald Trump for challenging President Barack Obama on his birth certificate. Conservative author Ann Coulter isn’t one of them.

On Monday night’s “Hannity” on the Fox News Channel, Coulter said the “birther” conspiracy has been long debunked by other conservative outlets.

“Well, I think maybe I’ve been watching too much Charlie Sheen because Donald Trump seems perfectly sane to me,” Coulter said. “I don’t know where he gets this $2 million Obama has spent to keep his birth certificate — he posted his birth certificate on his web page. I am glad that Donald Trump is bringing it up so that people who haven’t been paying attention and don’t know that the American Spectator, Human Events, Fox News – you know, every conservative outlet has already shot down this rumor, which by the way, was started by the Hillary Clinton campaign.”

Coulter said she was unclear as to why the so-called long-form birth certificate had more validity than the other birth certificate Obama has produced. She noted that reputable conservative media outlets won’t touch the story any more and it is regularly reported on by liberal outlets.

“Now they will have a chance to find out this is Donald Trump’s Pierre Salinger moment,” Coulter said. “You can’t believe everything you read on the Internet. Obama has produced his birth certificate. There were announcements that ran in two contemporaneous Hawaiian newspapers at that time. The head of the Hawaiian medical record has announced I have seen the long-form you all want. I don’t know why the long form is considered more credible than the short form. They are both from the same office. The State Department accepts the short form or as we call it the birth certificate. Hawaii accepts the birth certificate short form. So, I mean, it is a conspiracy theory that won’t die on the Internet, but every responsible, conservative organization to look at it and shot it down, which is why you hear it being talked about exclusively on the liberal cable stations.”

[Also, I really don't care if he spent $2 million or just $2, why doesn't he simply open up his past for inspection?]

To mess with your head.

Well, at least that part of his plan is working...

“Conservatives” such as Kathleen Parker, George Will, Christopher Buckley, Peggy Noonan, Colin Powell and David Frum, I suspect.

Right now he’s all soundbites and dosn’t reflect any real knowledge.
He's new to the issue. A certain amount of time is necessary for the unlearned to amass that learning.

He may be all bark and no bite.
He may be. How deep he carries the issue will be the determining factor for myself. If he goes no further than the "BC" issue then he'll have shown himself as not being serious. Time will tell.
Like many others I'll be enjoying the popcorn in the interim.

But the NEW Ann Coulter is brain dead.

She lost it sometime between impeachment and 9/11.

Ann is abusive.

Let's say a man punches his wife soundly in the nose, breaks it, and shatters her zygomatic arch and eye sockets. Should the wife let it go because of all the other times he was not pulverizing her with his fists? Hm?

Well....Ann called the birthers, “CRANKS!” and to rub salt in the wound she used the KKK to further make her point.

Sorry! I am DONE with Ann Coulter! She verbally punched reasonable Americans IN THE NOSE!

Only a brain dead, drooling, zombie, or someone who was evil, could not be highly suspicious of Obama’s eligibility at this point. We know she's not a blubbering idiot, so that makes her evil.

You don’t get invited to the high-level cocktail parties, soirées and confabs if you’re a birther.
So that's what happened to my invitation!
I thought it was my bearish nature, sarcasm and biting wit that was blocking me.
I'll never get invited now. {;^)

She’s annoying.... and irrelevant. I don’t even watch O’Reilly and Hannity any more. I’m sick of all the pundits. It’s nothing but a stupid back and forth game. They’ll hear from us when it’s time to cast our votes — just as they did last November.

So, you've looked high and low, yet missed the fact that the state of Texas requires a LFBC to establish identity when applying for a driver's license?

Sorry, you're wrong, and this is exactly kind of misinformation I'm talking about. I went to the Texas website, and in two minutes I was able to pull up their list of acceptable ID and it said:

"Original or certified copy of a birth certificate issued by the appropriate State Department of Vital Statistics."

Obama's "short-form" is a certified copy issued by the Department of Vital Statistics in Hawaii and could be used to apply for a drivers license in the State of Texas.

That statement doesn't say that a Certification of Live Birth is acceptable proof of identity. It says, "birth certificate". I don't care where you go in this country, a "birth certificate" is understood to be a LFBC.

A short form is not a birth certificate. It's a certification that you were born. That is all it is.

I also resent you characterizing my previous remarks as "misinformation". I related my personal experience with obtaining a Texas driver's license from the Texas DOT, with NO embellishment or exaggeration.

See Swampsniper’s post number 144, for yet another testimony of what most Americans have to go through to conduct the simplest transactions with their state governments.

I believe he’s in Florida.

A COLB, like the one Obama posted, is what the Department of Vital Stataistics gives people asking for a copy of their birth certificate. It is a certified copy and is indeed acceptable identification in the State of Texas.

In fact, if the applicant in Texas has an unexpired U.S. Passport or Military ID card, they don't even need to provide any sort of birth document.

I'm not making this up; you can look for yourself:

http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/internetforms/FormDetail.aspx?Id=267&FormNumber=DL-17.pdf

I also resent you characterizing my previous remarks as "misinformation".

Sorry, but the State's website doesn't agree with you.

Really? We don't need to go far to prove you wrong. Let's use your home state as an example. The Texas Department of Vital Statistics says:

Short form birth certificates can usually be produced in 30 minutes to 2 hours. If you need a long form birth certificate, it may take several days to process.

http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/vs/reqproc/certified_copy.shtm

They call both the long and short form documents "birth certificates."

Tell ya what, sparky. You take your short form bc down to the local Texas DOT and try to get a driver's license with it. If you're successful in obtaining one, I'll concede in public that you were right, and that I was flat out lied to by my local DOT officers.

All of the necessary components are aligning themselves, have been for a while. Hence, the run on ammo, hoarding of long shelf life food products, etc…

Then, Civil War II, here we come…

Between her birther position and and her Chris Christie position Ann’s knees must be hurting by now.

Don't forget her recent "Gay Old Party" routine at CPAC.

A COLB, like the one Obama posted, is what the Department of Vital Stataistics gives people asking for a copy of their birth certificate.

Depends on which state you're talking about. Despite the state of Hawaii trying to get around their own rules, any person who was born there can still get a copy of their LFBC.

My home state is California. I have yet to see a short form COLB issued by them. When I needed a fresh copy of my bc in 2009, they sent me a copy of my original long form. As far as I know, it's all they issue.

From what other Freepers have posted on these threads (over the last three years), the rules for acceptable documentation also vary from state to state, and agency to agency.

Now, I don't know if you're trying to make the case that Barry's short form COLB is sufficient proof of his parentage and citizenship. We've gone round and round on the minutiae of this thing so much, that I'm not sure what point you were originally trying to make.

In my mind, the central focus of this whole question is the fact that Obama has shown nothing so far, but a secondary abstract of his original documentation, which should be a bar too low for the office of president.

Secondly, we can't really prove that he's ineligible under Article II, Section I, unless we see the primary document. It's been fairly well established that the COLB his campaign presented is likely a forgery. At the very least, there are too many authenticity issues with it to accept it as prima facia evidence.

Is he the son of a Kenyan subject, and therefore not NBC? We can't know that, unless we see the LFBC.

I think that he needs to prove that he is eligible

I have little doubt that the ultimate outing of Obama will result in a “Road Warrior” scenario here in America and perhaps across the world.

As a mental exercise, imagine what would actually happen. Leftists would undoubtedly riot on a large scale - full blown violence included as their last chance at Utopia goes up in smoke before their eyes: Leads to...

National Guard out in force to stop the violence: Leads to ...

Martial Law, complete economic upheaval...follow the logical progression.

I used to talk about this possibility among friends of mine and they said I had a really active imagination. In light of recent events, many of them now can see it happening.

Hope I’m wrong. Doubt it though.

Essentially it'll be our very own version of Kristallnacht.

Jake Tapper reported that Republican officials are concerned about “their” candidates having to respond “to this nonsense”.

That lib disciple has an agenda!

He is sitting on the first row, when Gibbels held courts in the W.H.!!

When a guy from WDN asked a NBC question, Tapper jumped out of his seat very demonstrably shaking his head and walking out, while Gibbels laughing immediately closed out the Q&A section!!!
