Yesterday, I posted that Sarah Palin criticizing Mitt Romney made her sound more like a candidate. Her interview with Sean Hannity has given me pause on this matter. It struck me as I watched the interview what she had to say about a possible third party. You can watch the clip and decide for yourself.
Sarah Palin's warning to the Republican establishment coupled with her comments about RomneyCare yesterday are painting a picture, her vision. Palin gets it. She feels the angst and is trying to get the message to the Beltway Establishment/I don't think they are listening. Whatever one's opinion of her prospects in politics the fact remains she has a better grasp for the mood of the country than her critics.
Palin is right about the mood of the country and the future of the Republican Party. They can't blow the opportunity. If the G.O.P. loses this next election to Obama, then all bets are off regarding its future. Millions of Americans, conservatives, tea partiers etc were not enamored with Republican spending and won't tolerate a return.
In her comments she made reference to the rise of the Republican Party and the demise of the Whig Party. We shall see, but whether Sarah Palin runs for President is not nearly as relevant as her clear understanding of the stakes for the party of Lincoln if it betrays tried and true conservative principles in favor of power at all costs. The people of the country across the political and ideological spectrum have a sense of where things are headed and are all the more aware that the "in crowd" doesn't get it. THe video is here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OWFKQQb3o4&feature=player_embedded
Lets see, new attack by GOP elitist. This will scare all current candidates.
And this is coming from a man with a pitchfork in his hand in the early 90's after collage.
Why is Boehner planning to go GOLFING WITH THE MARXIST TO STIKE A DEAL ON THE DEBT CEILING?
THAT'S NOT LEADERSHIP!
Job 1. Get the Communists out.
Job 2. Form a true grassroots conservative movement.
Any order other than this will be the political version of wiping your bum then taking a poo.
Don't worry. Obama and Boehner are going resolve everything, on the golf course.
Palin is mad after the treatment she and Bachmann received from the party after they handed them a great victory. Now, all the establishment Repubs are crapping on her every day on TV and radio. She will organize the grass roots and holds the power of life and death over many candidates. Just imagine a month or so from now if Romney disses Palin as a has been if he's running first. She could snap her fingers and get support for a Tea Party candidate and crush whoever the Repubs put first.
If you look at it with Tea Party eyes, you see the Repubs are supporting Romney and even Gingrich above Cain, Bachmann, or Palin. Palin could turn the whole thing upside down with a news conference or maybe even a "tweet". I don't think Romney will ever get more than 25% no matter how much money they throw at him.
OTOH, I think it may be time to plan a Tea Party rally in a month or so just to flex the party muscle and get people woke up. There are 10 candidates right now, but that will change soon after Iowa, NH, and SC. Romney will get maybe 20% and who ever the Tea Party anoints will be in the 40% range after that. The others will start dropping with money problems.
Why would they want a Conservative candidate gaining power and changing things?
Doesn't anyone find it odd that every other day a new name of a “potential” candidate is in the media? This has the appearance of an establishment on a shopping trip, trying to find someone new to promote, as their current three stooges just don't seem to be catching on.
The mention of a Third Party publicly is a shot across the bow. But, in the current environment, it is more than just a threat.
The re-election of Obama wouldhave an effect like that of the election of Buchanan in 1856: the country might not survive it.
There is none so blind as he who will not see. Both Palin and the “Tea Party”movement were shicks to the “In-crowd.” They keep trying to ground the electricity that is in the air. If they are not careful, a bolt of lighning will fry all their circuits.
If a new 3rd Party is formed (or an old one taken over) Trump will be at Palin’s side building it from the grass roots up. She will be joined by millions of others to replace the GOP with a party that responds to the will of the people. Lets hope the Republicans are wise enough to see the error of their ways. Or they will become as extinct as the Whigs and their Raccoon symbol mascot.
Sarah demonstrating cunning strategy.
Yes, and any third party candidate on the right that garners more than a handful of votes will take the GOP candidate down with them.
Just stating the harsh reality, it's Obama or the GOP candidate, it's your vote.
“Trump is in for a rude awakening if he thinks he will pull a Perot or Buchanan on Us.”
I hope you’re right. I’m seeing this thread 6 days later, and Trump’s said in the last night or two on Greta that if he sees the R’s are “stupid” in whom they pick, he just might get in the race as an Independent. Yet he’s often said that BHO’s re-election would be the worst thing that could happen to the country. Riiiiiiiiight.
If he really meant that, he’d run as a Democrat and split THAT vote.
As opposed to what? This government and the elected self serving weasels of the past 20 years? I'll take the guy with the pitchfork, thanks.
I’m not sure what you’re driving at by what you quoted and your response. I was in the Buchanan Brigades when he ran. We have the Tea party now which seem far more effective.
