Last weekend, Republicans waiting for the proverbial man on the white horse to ride in and save them from an unsatisfactory 2012 primary field got their answer, or at any rate the best answer they are likely to get: Texas Governor Rick Perry. And while Perry entered stage right, former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, my previous choice among the announced candidates in the field, exited stage center-right, leaving the choice - to me - an obvious one: Rick Perry for President, y'all.

Who is going to fit the bill regarding illegal immigration? Perry has a record on illegal immigration to evaluate, none of the other candidates do, all they have done is just talk. They have not been tested on that issue. Is tough talk good enough?
I like that one.
I have to say that Baseball Crank’s analysis is very straight-up, he lays out the pros and the cons nicely. Even if you’re not interested in Rick Perry his 2012 electoral map analysis is worth a look.
I notice how the media never mentions Ron Paul even when he is winning straw polls or making a strong finish. Looks like they are going to try to foist this RINO Perry [ Al Gore’s former Texas Presidential campaign chairman ] on us. Ron Paul is the actual front runner.
Okay, help me out, which of the GOP candidates is best on immigration? (I was told by a FReeper, who’s primary issue is immigration, that none of them really are that good on Immigration.)
The DNC media does not want Rick Perry. Try again.
How is Rick Perry like Mitt Romney? Don’t just say that he is without some context.
No what? :)
No Captain Gardasil.
No Slick Rick.
No Al Gore’s Campaign Manager.
No Rudy-Tooty Booster.
No no no to Ricky da RINO.
Well, who should it be then? Bachamann supported Carter, does that disqualify her? Yes, Perry supported Giuliani, but who did the others support? If we are going to bash him for that and use it as a reason to choose another candidate, then we damn well better know who the others endorsed. There were only two conservatives in that race, Hunter and Thompson, so unless they endorsed those two then the “Perry endorsed Rudy” bash has no merit.
Who is the candidate that is going to knock Myth out then? Perry seems to be the only one able to do it.
Puff piece? It’s certainly not a ringing endorsement.
Who should it be ? You’re on Free Republic. That requires no answer.
Okay, my FRiend, I hope that Sarah comes through for us then. If not, we’d better have a Plan B.
That’s fine, run Slick Willard out. But that doesn’t mean I want Al Gore’s Texas Campaign Manager as the nominee.
If only Cain hadn’t gone soft on the Mohammadan terror.
We are comparing candidates to see which one is best, the anti Perry folks have rejected Perry based on his record, fine, who do they believe is better? Why is it so hard to get the Perry bashers to declare a favorite candidate? If they have chosen one then they must believe the he/she is better than Perry for the following reasons......etc.
I have never seen anything like this, constant bashing but never support for an alternative. It is ridiculous, and if you are trying to get people to reject Perry for someone else you are doing very lousy job.
I guess then you reject Bachmann too for supporting Carter, is that correct?
By an analyst who first thought TPaw was the answer?
