Read the original post. It was about the scenario where a massive EMP knocks out all electronics in the US, plunging us into a 19th century nightmare without power, water, medicines, transportation, etc. I agree that the regional or even localized EMP attack is a real likelihood, but the “One Second After” scenario is just too difficult for anyone to pull off.
An attack on DC would be catastrophic for the reason you state. But those are problems that can be handled. We can deal with welfare zombies rioting in the streets because the EBT cards stopped getting refilled. That’s a lot easier than handling the loss of monetary systems, power, water, etc.

The ultimate in assymetrical warfare: lob an EMP-tuned nuke to about 250 miles over the US from a barge that can’t be traced and which is sunk immediately after launching its cargo.

Not even close. Not even the military is worried about EMP, only those academics looking to get grant monies even say much about it.
Here's a collection of some detailed info from various sources, most of which matches my basic understanding from USN electronics training. If - big if - it happens all the major cities and a lot of the smaller ones are toast. Plan accordingly.
Try it for a month - no water, no 'shopping' at a grocery store, no replacement bullets for your gun, no electricity, medicine, car, radio, TV, chainsaw, electric/gas powered tools, fertilizers, pesticides or computer. An ax and hand tools. It could be interesting.

Aircraft wouldn’t even close to even noticing an EMP attack. Their systems are hardened against even a lighten strike and you want to claim EMP, which you know nothing about, will slip right on in and damage the airplane. Good luck with that Survivalist Porn Fantasy.
