How else can I start? I support Rick Santorum, donated to him, but I'm losing count of the times I watch him on a live interview and feel the need for a facepalm. God love you, Rick, but you do not think well on your feet (or perhaps someone working for isn't doing his job prepping you).
When Chris asked Rick about siding with "big labor", the right answer was that "there are valid reasons for labor unions and I'll support them when it's fair to do so. Unions get a bad rap when union leaders abuse their leverage with their employers and support left-wing candidates, but that doesn't mean that unions are entirely evil." Citing his 13% voting record with unions, while popular among capitalist pigs like me, was politically the wrong answer -- especially with the states that remain in the primary process.
I knew the right answer as soon as the question was asked, and I never represented southwest PA.

I’d like someone in office that doesn’t need to be prepped or “handled.”
Just like they said about Romney, he needs to learn about what Conservative solutions are. And more so, his arrogant asserting the mantle of being a true Conservative while it’s apparent he thinks being Socially Conservative qualifies him as an expert, while his continuing Liberal Economic policies of a Progressive Income Tax and Vote Buying with tripling the dependent child tax credits prove counter to being Conservative.
Then why is 0bama lite the front runner for crying out loud?
Romney has no chance to beat 0bama.
I'd take even a deaf, mute, blind Santorum over Romney ANY day!
You’re right to be concerned.
In retrospect, much like 2008, we didn’t really get any good options for the nominee this year. I supported Cain, because I knew a bit about him from listening to him on the radio in Georgia. But was disappointed at the whole womanizing thing; either there was something there, or he handled it horribly - doesn’t matter which. Then the next fallback was Newt, but as many here have pointed out, Newt has as much or more baggage as anyone.
Santorum I never could get behind because I feel he is a 3rd or 4th rate player who is only in the race because his ego won’t let him get out. He got his clock cleaned in the last election, and that one will be a cake walk compared to Obama.
I’m beginning to wonder if the reason we keep drawing this collection of duds is because most people don’t want to be the captain when the ship of state inevitably hits the economic iceberg.

If he can pull off this “Convention Coup” he can handle anyone on the globe!
Santorum just has NOT got what it takes to defeat Obama or be President.
We ALL need to give Newt the chance to do what we all know he CAN do.
Romney is trying to buy the election & his PACS are out buying support from the RINO Elites.
We have a last chance to save ourselves & our country - with not much time to do it in.
Newt can’t win a plurality of five state delegations which is required to even be nominated.
With gas prices going where they are, anybody can beat Obamalini. I don’t want that anybody to be Mittens. In fact, Mittens is probably the weakest against Obamalini in the general - despite his appeal to the R establishment and Ann Coulter.
You thought that was supposed to be the “Right answer” in a Republican Primary? In a state where thuggish unions have been harassing Republicans to no end? You thought the right thing to do would have been to stand up for labor unions?
I think he handled itfine.
3 things are very likely to happen in 2012.
1. Stock market could dive 15-20% in fall. Europe is in bad shape already, China is slowing. Apple stock alone is responsible for 15% of gain this year in S&P500. And probably 50% in Nasdaq (I do not know Nasdaq numbers, but Apple is lion’s share in Nasdaq value). No technology stock has ever stayed on top very long. Either Apple sales will taper off or competition will emerge.
2. Gas prices will be $5/gallon in summer. This is first hand visible pain to pocket books. Republicans can exploit this if they have brains.
3. Unemployment will hang around above or around 8% rest of the year. More people are entering the job market than new jobs being created.
Any republican can beat Obama in November without a serious gaffe.
