Fear of rioting anarchists has Chicagoans (Obama’s “hometown”) getting ready to flee to safety

Fears of Chicago NATO riots are so heightened that a big condo association has warned its residents to flee their homes for their own safety from Sunday May 19 through May 21. So much for peaceful protesting by world wide objectors upset about nearly everything.

“We are STRONGLY recommending that all residents find alternative places to stay,” says a Property Manager’s letter sent to all residents last Thursday.

“In the event of a riot or the potential of one near the building, all access doors will be locked,” Michele Maeder is telling her condo dwellers in the Library Tower high rise located at 520 South State Street.

All hospitality and entertainment rooms will be locked along with their revolving door beginning early on Friday of the NATO weekend. Emergency egress only will be allowed through a side alley.

No dog walkers, no cleaning ladies, or anyone else will be allowed in or out during the critical time when the Condo is under siege. The building is also hiring two armed off duty police officers to protect residents! While the exact arrival time of protestors is still unknown, a protest route has finally been approved.

Grant Park’s Petrillo Band Shell, the site of the Obama huge election night celebration, will be the starting point for protestors.

They will proceed on State Street right past the Library Tower Condominium and around McCormick Place where the NATO Summit will be held. “There will be absolutely no deliveries or moves permitted between Friday, May 18 and Monday, May 21,” Manager Maeder is telling her residents.

So much for Mayor Rahm Emanuel who was looking to build great photo ops for his possible run at the White House in 2016. Already, his nose reportedly got out of joint…

When they burn out the Loop we might finally see the wake-up among the suburban collar counties. If those stop voting in lock step with Chicago you may get an injection of sanity into Springfield. Much as what happened in Wisconsin where the suburbs stopped voting with Milwaukee and Madison.

The city dwellers are hopeless. On the up side if the riot gets big enough high casualties could bring about some demographic change. Kind of like how Michigan has started to move right as Detroit has been depopulated.

A self-inflicted Katrina. Sweet!

Like I said the best example is Detroit. Since hurricane Katrina in 2005 New Orleans has lost 29% of it's population. Over that same time period Detroit lost 25%. However since it was a bigger city to start with it's losses in terms of people running for the hills has actually been higher than New Orleans.

The critical event was the 1967 riots in Detroit. Unlike Katrina only 47 people got killed in the riots, and while the burning made a lot of news, the actual amount of property damage was contained to a relatively small area.

The damage was psychological. Anyone who wasn't part of the problem stopped trying to fight the rot, and just moved out. When the business start to get tired of being burned out, robbed, or shaken down by the government they moved out too. Detroit has lost almost three quarters of its population since then.

Elk Grove here, so it will be the near west side car-b-ques that will be light things up from here. Trimmed the shrubs myself, but that was just so I would have better site lines. I put up some extra food as well. Everyone here is waiting for the SHTF. The place where I work is planning on using our alternate data center out East as the primary rather than a backup just in case downtown gets the full Mrs. O'Leary's cow treatment.

The guy down at the sporting goods store said they were having a run on shotgun ammo. It's not deer season and turkey season usually doesn't sell out the stores, so I'm thinking I may not the only one prepping for the worst on this one.
