It's Way Too Early for Democrats to Panic
Real Clear Politics ^ | 6-22-2012 | Sean Trende

I'm increasingly convinced that the Washington press corps suffers from histrionic personality disorder. For much of the first half of 2012, the stories coming out of the nation's capital were generally about the weakness of the Republican presidential field, Mitt Romney's difficulty securing his base, President Obama's burgeoning lead, and the economy finally gaining steam. Conventional wisdom seemed to have congealed around the idea that Obama was an almost-heavy favorite for re-election over the hapless Romney. Intrade scored his re-election odds at upwards of 60 percent.

(snip) Even though the economy is not going at full steam ahead, neither is it contracting (at least not yet). It looks as if Europe may hold together long enough that its seemingly inevitable collapse won’t be fully felt here until after the election. And most importantly, people don’t blame the president for the state of the economy. This really is a unique circumstance; we’ve never had a situation of lengthy economic turmoil that clearly began before the incumbent took office and then failed to make substantial progress over the ensuing four years. In other words, the traditional relationships between the economy and a presidential re-election effort might not hold.

(snip) The good news for him (Obama) is that this year, unlike 2010, the Democrats have a pretty good argument as well (losing control of the House was the best thing to happen to them in this regard), and it will only be a matter of time before Romney commits some cringe-inducing gaffe that leaves a mark of its own.

Any candidate who is genning up the base at this stage is toast!!!

Aren't both candidates working on that? They can't both be toast.

The winner will garner less than 40% of voter turn out.

What is it what the Dems and the number $3000. Sandra Fluck said that birth control costs were $3000 for a student in law school. Obama said that his fuel efficiency standards would save drivers $3000 per year. Obama said that employers would save 3000% on employees health insurance under Obamacare. (Yes, he said percent, but claimed he meant $3000). There is another example I can't remember, now. Has he did tests on this magic number of three thousand dollars.

All of these numbers are wrong, BTW.

Sandra Fluck said that birth control costs were $3000 for a student in law school.

Technically, Fluke said "Without insurance coverage, contraception, as you know, can cost a woman over $3,000 during law school." Her speech was more artfully worded than the right wants to admit.

If pressed on the point, you could find a handful of women who needed a specific brand of contraceptive and who may have needed to spend $3,000, while the average cost was much lower. Hence, 'can cost over' $3,000.

Without listening closely, however, her statement made the situation sound more dire and generic. In fact, many didn't listen closely at all and spend the first week claiming she said she personally spent $3,000 a year on contraception.

There are still lots of people unaware that the RNC/DNC has carefully picked Romney for the position of designated loser.
The Fabian socialists have a plan and agenda reaching out fifty to one hundred , even one hundred and fifty years resulting in the destruction of this nation and formation of their socialist utopia. Revolutionary communists want the same utopia and they want it NOW. They would be happy with lining people up and shooting them to bring about that utopia.
The Fabians will lay back and put up with the rape this nation will suffer at the hands of the revolutionary communists if it means getting their utopia sooner with their hands clean. As a side note; The Fabians apparently never study history because at that point the revolutionaries always murder the Fabians.
Romney, the Fabian, will take one for the team and throw the election to Obama, the revolutionary communist.

I am not arguing that BC doesn’t cost $3000 for three years, or $1000 per year. I am saying that Obama pulled the number 3000 out of his butt.

I found the other ‘save $3000’. Obama claims his home refinance plan would save homeowners $3000 per year.

He he he, Obama pulled lots of things (not just the number 3000) out of his b^tts.

Unfortunately, there are still lots of lips attached to it/them.

Yes, I think it is way too early for Dems and Team Obama to panick.
I think discussions get rolling here on F.R. and folks might get complacent and forget that the country is practically split down the middle politically.

And on the right-side of that divide, conservatives are definitely in the *minority*. We need to grow our numbers, but I haven't the foggiest idea how.

I do think Team Obama have known what the outcome would be.

No doubt he received a discrete call last March on his secure Blackberry from her who failed to recuse herself.

He was using Ryan in some kind of bribery? Any elected conservative who aligns themselves with this liberal to ‘get along’ or to benefit themselves is no conservative, IMO. He should have been given the very cold shoulder the moment he entered the GOP campaign.
