Skip to comments.Antarctic ice shelves not melting at all, new field data show
Posted on 06/26/2012 8:36:27 AM PDT by Twotone
Twenty-year-old models which have suggested serious ice loss in the eastern Antarctic have been compared with reality for the first time and found to be wrong, so much so that it now appears that no ice is being lost at all.
Previous ocean models
have predicted temperatures and melt rates that are too high, suggesting a significant mass loss in this region that is actually not taking place,

The truth gets its boots on five years too late.
But but how can low lying Pacific islands flood over if the damn ice caps won’t melt?
It's pretty interesting that NORMAL, NOT BRILLIANT, NOT "LEARNED" people like you and me knew it was a load of cr** all along.
Global STASIS!! ARGGGGHHHH!!
Of course they aren’t. I knew the antarctic ice shelves weren’t melting the first time I heard liberal activists shouting that they were. No science to it, just years of observing the radical left lie, and realizing that the more emphatic the rant, the greater the lie.
Algore must be livid at the news that these ice sheets are defying him.
The AGW/IPCC CO2 scam artists aka CHICKEN LITTLE BRIGADE has not gotten one of their assertions correct. NOT ONE. Come on man. somebody throwing darts could predict a better result.
These socialist democrat frauds try and create havoc by SCARE TACTICS, not unlike the ancient tribal witch doctors who tricked the peasants into doing their bidding telling them the sun was going to disappear during an eclispe.
Using the word “boffin” more than once in an article doesn’t help.
Nah... it's a regional thing.
I believe the author is a limey....:^)
Surely , he needs more people driving their SUVs.
Somebody's gonna get their pay docked.
They are. The last few days the tide has been as high as I've ever seen it, and the neighbors said they haven't seen it so high since 1993.
Obama told us that he would stop the oceans from rising. You didn’t believe him?
Maybe the Moon is getting closer.
Some people claim that there’s a tropical storm to blame, but that’s not going to help me make money off my carbon credits.
I work with computer models every day, and if the models in my corner of the private sector were as bad as the Globull Warming models, I’d be thrown out of my job.

Next year! It’ll happen next year - you’ll see (or maybe the year after...)
Here's whats sad, its that I agree with you.
Why is that sad? Because I consider myself a scientific freeper, with an engineering education and science background. I seem to have much more faith in Science than most freepers do. I sometimes (often) cringe when I read what many write on here about said subject.
The fact is that "Science" has been so co-opted by the left, that I find myself in complete agreement with you in what you said... the more shrill and "lefty" the claims, the less likely I am to believe them.. It shouldn't be that way, but that's what it has come too..
Even though I eventually went the liberal arts route, I loaded up on botany, zoology, ecology and chemistry classes as an undergrad, because I enjoyed them. I have the greatest respect and love for science, but I also understand it has its shortcomings, because men do, and men tend to wrap their beliefs in pseudo science for legitimacy. ...The left represents the worst of what man is. Whenever the left co-opts something, be it environment, education, climate, medicine, what have you, the left corrupts it. That is as certain as the laws of thermodynamics. It is a simple and universal law. Whatever values you put into something are the values you get out of it. Truth is not a value of the left.
I had heard that while part of Anarctica was melting, as it warmed up some, more snow was falling in other parts, so it sounded to me like an equilibrium. Meanwhile, what is the status of melting in Greenland? Also I seem to recall hearing that the North Atlantic current is slowing down, any word on that? That could lead to really cold weather in Britain and Europe.
Hey, isn’t all of it white? ;’)
