"I don’t want to hear from any political moron who demands conservative purity." Bob Grant

"Mitt should have picked Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey as his running mate. Christie knows how to hit back. I only hope that by 2016 the GOP is smart enough to vote for Governor Christie. If they don’t pick him, then they might as well forget about being a national party. They can also forget about guys like me.

There will be no point in allowing Hillary Clinton to pull another phony campaign out of her purse. I will be watching my fellow Republicans. And I don’t want to hear from any political moron who demands conservative purity. Those days are long gone. Forget it. And you Republicans also need to forget about identifying yourselves as a certain specific Republican. You don’t see the Democrats bifurcate themselves."

Mr. Grant fades into obscurity now. You either stand for something or fall for liberalism.

As much as it pains me to say this, Bob Grant is wrong.

The same Governor Chris Christie who kissed Obama’s butt, and handed the election to him?

“Conservative purity” when talking about Romney?
I may be mistaken here, but to be pure use must be that substance — and Romney is no conservative... unless you mean it in the sense of “keeping things the same”.

Then there is no point in voting GOP. If they aren't conservative, they don't get my vote.

Bob's purity test is that there be no purity.

The Legendary who? He might be right, but I can’t get beyond his arrogance.

Elect Christie? Yeah, right...so are we to believe that all the hand-shaking, hugging and HUGE smiles for the Oba-Messiah was only politics ‘cuz the “fighter” Christie needed the bucks that the Oba-Messiah would need to release. Puhlease!

Well, Bob, I may not demand purity, but I will demand a conservative. A conservative is something Chris Cristie is not and never has been.

I’ll also tell you what since I’m up on the soapbox. The GOP-E told us all that after McCain we had to run a Republican from the Northeast to have any chance of winning. Well, his name was Mitt Romney and while he may have been a Republican he was not demonstrably a conservative in any sense of the word, nor was he a capable campaigner outside of New England, which really didn’t do him any good.

Now that the same GOP-E wants to push a man who is “not nice” to go along with not conservative. They’ll be lucky to hold Alabama if they do and will deserve the loss if they don’t.

The next Republican Presidential candidate needs to be the sort that will campaign against the incestous corruption in Washington, D.C. and has the credentials to back their claim that they’ll clean house. They need to present problems clearly and articulate answers that will work. They must fundamentally believe in America and be able to stir Americans to believe in their country. Right now, only one person that might fill that role is anywhere to be seen. Bloodied and Battered but still standing and still fighting.

That person sure isn’t Cristie.

I don’t think Mitt wanted to do anything that might have caused him to win.

This statement could be defended perhaps, if this were March of 2016, but it isn’t.

Two months after the 2012 election, Bob Grant is already campaigning to move the party left for when we start the primaries in a couple of years.

Weird, weird, weird, what in the heck is going on?

Yeah, RINO candidates have worked so well for the GOP. What’s the definition of insanity?

I was surprised to find out how many republicans I know who didn't vote in 2012. They don't like obama, but they don't like Romney either.

If Romney couldn't motivate them after four years of obama to avoid another four years by voting for him, how would a governor from N.J., especially after his slobber fest over Bruuuuce and Barry, change that outcome?

I'll tell you how, even fewer voters and votes and maybe even a loss of the House thanks to even more GOP voters staying home.

We love a fighter, but only if they are fighting for us, not against us. Those stay at homers didn't trust Romney and they certainly don't trust Christie, imo.

A party that loses to a hard core leftist like obama twice has the wrong ideas about what their voters believe in and want from government.
