How Many Freepers Are Planning To Do What I Am Going To Do? Refusing To Purchase Obamacare? (Vanity)

Thanks to the current regulations Obamacare has forced upon insurance companies, my employer is paying $5,000.00 a Month for my healthcare today. I was informed that as of January 1, 2014 they will be forced to drop my coverage. I work for a small family business that has paid for my health insurance for the past 25 years, but next year they will not be able to afford it any longer.

So, come next year I will be forced to buy into one of the plans offered by Obamacare. I have told my wife I am not going to buy it. I will go without insurance and take my chance with God, whom I have unlimited faith in.

As many of you know, my wife is a paraplegic who has been on medicare, and even her insurance will change. However we will keep hers, because her healthcare is my number one priority.

I am wanting to know how many other Freepers will forgo insurance as I will. How many like me will tell the government to kiss my #^*@.

I am of the belief that there are enough Americans like me who, if we refuse to play their unconstitutional game, can cause the whole system to collapse upon itself. That is if we do not cave in to the pressure to go long.

I am currently weening myself off any and all drugs I am being prescribed by my Dr, and making up the difference by changing my diet and or habits that led me to need the prescriptions. If there is a drug my DR. swears I need to have to live a good life, I will then put my faith in God. Come what may.

I just realized my mistake. I should have typed $500.00 a month as for my understanding, not $5,000.00 per Month.

OOOPS, sorry.

“I’m too poor, so you guys are buying mine whether you or I want to. lol.”

I’m on unemployment. That’s $275/week where I live. But I spent five years getting ready to be unemployed and I can live on that. (Sold my house and bought an old mobile home in the woods 18 miles from no place and paid it off. I owe nothing.) But here’s the thing. The cheapest policy for a family of 4, according to the IRS, is $20,000. There are 2080 working hours in a year. Therefore the cheapest policy costs $9.62/hour. That’s more for insurance (no even good insurance) than most people make. ON a weekly basis that’s $384. That’s a LOT more than unemployment. If the government is going to just give it to the poor, is that everyone on unemployment too? Where does all the money come from? How much is this whole thing going to cost? Oh, the young kids are going to pay for it, but not use it. But, wait, what if they ALL want free sex changes?

“Where does all the money come from?”

Nobody has cared about that since the 80’s, look at the national debt. Insanity is going to cause a lot of pain.

You describe what has become the real American Dream...

That is, to be able to retire and be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects... knowing that all previous theft under color of authority under the guise of future entitlement is to be considered a complete and total loss with zero probablity of return on that “investment”.

I know I am not alone in this feeling, that everything taken against my will from me will NEVER come back to me.

Taxes? Check.
Death? Soon enough.

I guess you only option is to have no assets whatsoever. That I believe that may be Obama’s ultimate goal. Now you are owned.

Have any of you ever thought about leaving the country?

With the IRS in charge of collections you won’t have an option to tell them to kiss a$$. If you work, the IRS will garnish your paycheck for either the penalty or the premium. If you are retired they (the IRS) can tap into your bank accounts.

Can you refer me to the part of the law that specifies this? All I've read is that the IRS is empowered to garnish tax refunds to apply the Obamacare penalty.

“Nobody has cared about that since the 80’s, look at the national debt. Insanity is going to cause a lot of pain.”

There was essentially little inflation from 1955 to 1970. My Dad bought a new 1955 Dodge Royal for $2500. He bought a new Dodge Polara (essentially the same car with an almost identical 318 engine) for $3,300. But the ‘70 had a plush interior, power steering and AIRCONDITIONING! Then, in ‘73 Nixon took us off the gold standard. This was because deGaul figured out LBJ had illegally printed money to pay for his guns and butter program. (More bombs were dropped in Vietnam than by all sides in the previous two world wars. Plus, we had “the GREAT SOCIETY” to end poverty and black inequality for all time.) deGaul started buying dollars and trading them for gold at $35/oz. Nixon realized deGaul would soon have all of our gold.

Taking us off gold freed government to print as many dollars as it wanted. Obama tripled the money supply by 2010. Quantitative Easing (QE 1, 2, 3, etc.) has added 87 billion per month since.

Somebody should be going to prison for this. This is the greatest redistribution of wealth in history. They’re literally stealing the value of the work we’ve already been paid for.

I refuse to join Obama care....and refuse to pay the penalty. Although, sometimes I get the deductions wrong and get a small irs refund...

It is my understanding if the penalty isn’t paid (heck, I don’t plan to file any of those forms) then no refund will be issued. Other than that, the penalty is not enforceable.

If ever there was a time for civil disobedience, this is it!

When millions refuse to buy into Obama’s Bogus Healthcare Plan, it will die a’borning.

My plan is to pay the penalty and to continue to pressure my representatives to scrap the whole thing.

For now I have my prescriptions covered my my health insurance, Blue cross/blue shield.

Then you might want to look at what the costs are of the current drugs you are taking, the costs of the drugs you think you've weened yourself off of and the costs of the drugs you may have to start taking in the future that you're going to have to pay for if you don't have coverage........

Your wife pays $130.00 for her drug coverage.........When the pharmacy dispenses her drugs to you, they will include information on what the actual cost of those drugs are if she had to pay out of pocket.....Ya might want to check those out to get an idea of what you might be in store for should you decide to go insurance free........

We’re looking into Christian medical sharing ministries like Medi-share. They have a religious exemption similar to the Amish, but you don’t have to give up your computer.
They’re legal under Obamacare, but the three organizations that do this put in a caveat that it is only allowed for the groups formed before 2000 - so no new ones can form.

This does become quite a motivator to classify as a member of a Native American tribe - they are exempt because they are under Indian health services.

I'm barely working so I can't afford Obamacare or any other care. If I get sick or injured I'm screwed.

I'm so desperate I'm looking at government work. I think they're the only ones hiring.

I’ve been planning it all along. I’m not filing the IRS form for it either. I think it has gone to court whether they can penalize you if you live in a State with no exchange but it is my intention whatever the outcome.
