A group of conservative black pastors called Tuesday for Attorney General Eric Holders impeachment, saying the Obama administration has sold out with its support for gay marriage.
The Coalition of African American Pastors (CAAP) is targeting Holder after concluding that going after the nation's first black president would be a losing battle.
"If Obama was a white man, he would be impeached," said Rev. William Owens, the groups founder and president. "Obama has been given a free pass to do what he pleases, but I don't give him a pass. I'm very black, been black all my life. He doesn't get a pass. I don't give him a pass."
The group is launching an effort to gather a million signatures in support of Holders impeachment.
"He will go down in history as the worst attorney general," Owens said.
As of late Tuesday morning, however, only 81 people had signed an online petition backing the effort.
The effort comes as Holder, addressing the nations attorneys general, defended the Obama administrations decision in 2011 to stop supporting the federal ban on gay marriage, which later was struck down in a major Supreme Court ruling.
This marked a critical step forward, and a resounding victory for equal treatment and equal protection under the law, Holder said Tuesday at the National Association of Attorneys General winter meeting in Washington.
In his remarks, Holder noted some states, including Pennsylvania, Nevada, Virginia and Oregon, had reached similar determinations. He suggested attorneys general need not defend state bans on same-sex marriage, if they find them to be discriminatory.
Any decisions at any level not to defend individual laws must be exceedingly rare. They must be reserved only for exceptional circumstances, Holder said. And they must never stem merely from policy or political disagreements hinging instead on firm constitutional grounds.
The black pastors said it is a shame that President Obama has used the civil rights movement as a platform to champion gay rights.
"It's a disgrace that this man has stood on the shoulders of Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr.," Owens said. "I detest them calling this a civil rights movement. It's not a civil rights movement; it's a civil wrongs movement."
"He's used his blackness to get away with some of the things he's gotten away with," Owens added.
CAAP bills itself as a grass-roots movement of Christians that is not affiliated with any political party or religion. According to published reports, the group has deep conservative ties.
And I’m pretty sure most Africans would back these brave African Americans, since they’re being threatened by the admin too.
Obama repeatedly expressed his position that it should be up to each state to decide the definition of marriage. Now, he’s saying that he was blatantly lying to us.
Fool me once, twice, thrice..... 100 times....
“It’s a disgrace that this man has stood on the shoulders of Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr.,” Owens said. “I detest them calling this a civil rights movement. It’s not a civil rights movement; it’s a civil wrongs movement.”
He should be receiving visitors in 5, 4, 3...he must be re-educated, he is not conforming to dear leaders wishes, this will not be tolerated. Get him back on the plantation before someone else starts talking this way...it could spread.
Popcorn, anyone?
Yes, and the amazingly tolerant LGBTQI shall slam him like a sledgehammer.
The kids are being programmed to think “Evil is Good” in the public schools and in the Glee-like programs on TV/movies/music......they are brainwashed ideologues and will be like all the non-thinking OWS people who can’t “think” or process any information-—they have no Knowledge/Wisdom in their pea brains.
They are programmed by Wundtian methodology, to believe their masters, which are in the White House.
“......Owens stressed that the petition is meant for all citizens regardless of race or creed: Marriage is an institution that benefits all of society; therefore every citizen has an interest in protecting marriage from these brazen attacks, Owens said. Citizens can sign the open letter to Congress at http://www.HolderImpeachment.com

These brave black pastors will be shunned by the black scum in their neighborhoods.
Then, they will become targets of the IRS, FBI and probably be more closely monitored by the NSA.
Ah HAH... the Honkeyification of Barack Obama.!....
it’s about time..
Don’t count on the GOP to impeach him. The may talk about how they’re “considering filing for impeachment” when the cameras are rolling and the crowd is right, but that’s as far as they will go.
BTW - I would like to know when Obama will be "brave" enough to announce that he is gay.
Another BTW - I do believe that we are way past having a huge, world wide, come-to-Jesus moment.
Blacks in CA were the winning margin for their state’s law on this issue.
Their own CA Supreme Court said it was unconstitutional (from the CA constitution).
Then CA officials refused to defend their own state law.
Courts ruled there was no standing for a traditional marriage group to defend it.
Now these religiously motivated Blacks can clearly see that it’s Obama, Holder etc who are fighting them, not just their own officials.
It’s silly to try to impeach him without majority support from the population...especially without a majority in the Senate. What the Republicans should be doing is getting information out and laying the groundwork among the populace.
Why is his color important? Any pastor, regardless of color, who preaches what God said and not what he, she or it knows God meant to say, wants to see obama removed.
Yup, this senate candidate in Texas is. Heard it this morning.
