mine is a ratchet drive screwdriver with all the bits inside the driver head.

My favorite tool was a Craftsman ratcheting screwdriver I had bought back in the early 1980s. It had this great, heavy, solid handle (that would occasionally be used as a "persuader") and a really smooth ratcheting action. I had that driver until the mid 1990s, when someone stole my tool kit, and that's the one tool I really missed (even more than my Fluke 87!)

That style of driver was discontinued by Sears years before, and I was never able to find another one. I wound up replacing it with a Snap-On ratcheting driver, with a hollow handle for bits, and though I still have that Snap-On driver, it's not the same.

I also love having the Leatherman multi-tool.

I bought my first Leatherman back when they were first offered by Dillon Precision in their Blue Press catalog (a very long time ago). I wore that tool on my side for years, using it all the time.

Then one day, I made the mistake of using it on-site to fix a problem at a customer site, and the manager that needed to sign off on the ticket refused to do so, saying she wasn't going to pay for the service call, since I never even opened my toolbox to replace the bad modem in a PC that was always making noise from the speaker. She had a very bad attitude, so I went and spoke to her supervisor who did sign the ticket.

I never used that tool on-site again, without first pulling out a few tools from my box.

Alright, another proud Yankee owner. When my dad died a year ago, we were going through his stuff and I grabbed the Yankee. Actually, it may have been mine anyway from when I was younger.

I don’t really have a favorite tool, I always use the right tool for the job, unless something else will work better.

Most of us aren’t thinking on that scale. I have a couple of compressors and two impact wrenches. I don’t paint, but you are absolutely right.
